Chapter 31: Lauryn
Grabbing an overnight bag, I almost forget to call Samantha.  She wanted me to call her after I got home with the details.  I hope she is prepared for what I have to tell her though.  With Darren waiting in the car, I pack and talk to her.  "You will not believe this.  We get there and his mom asks when the wedding is?  I turned to Darren and he offered up no help, instead he acted like we were getting married, then we go out horseback riding.  While we are out there we have sex and he tells me he loves me.  I mean come on, nobody tells each other that after the second date."  She starts to say something, but I stop her.  "Wait a minute, let me finish first.  My instincts kick in and I ride away, instead of getting a clue, he rides after me and stops me.  Samantha, he tells me that I am it for him.  What the fuck.  Then he makes love to me and tells me he loves me again.  We go back to his sis

Chapter 32: Darren
Hoping that she likes my Shrimp Scampi Linguini, I set the table and wait for her to join me.  Waiting patiently, I stand there and watch her get up.  She looks like she belongs here and it's strange, but it feels like it too. In just a few short days, we have gone from a short fling to staying the weekend.  This is something so unexpected, but every fiber of my being tells me that I'm doing the right thing.  Matter of fact, I have never been so sure of anything in my life, ever.  She grabs the bottle and her glass, meeting me at the table and sitting down.  I forgot my glass, so I rush to the kitchen and grab it, returning quickly before the linguini gets cold.  Both of us, settle in our seats and we sit staring at each other.  Kissing her gently, I motion for her to eat.  "Eat before it gets cold.  Shrimp gets tough if you don't eat it quickly after being cooked."  I start to eat and

He left me in the bed.  I'm laying here, handcuffed and I don't have a clue where he went.  I lay here for a few minutes and I think I hear the shower and Darren's voice singing.  Thinking that he will come back in and that he was just joking around, I yell out.  "Please."I hear him walk back in and he asks, "Please what?""You can't just say please.  Tell me what you want."  He starts walking around the room, it sounds like he's pacing back and forth."Don't leave me alone again."  The room gets quiet and he doesn't talk."Ask me nicely."  I hear his voice softening.Thinking to myself how to word this, "O.K., please don't leave again."  Honestly, this is a bigger turn on than I have ever felt.  It makes me feel completely powerless.Knowing I am in his hands and need him, I beg.  "Darren, I will do anything for you, just please don't leave me alone again."  Realizing

Chapter 34: Darren
Waking up to Lauryn's soft warm body, is the greatest high and I don't know if I ever want to leave the bed.  A giant smile spreads across my face and I remember when I was buried deep inside her last night.  How wonderful it felt to be inside her and perfect the way I fit in her. With my face in her hair, I smell her sweetness and my body tells me to eat her alive.  Not wanting to wake her though, I lay still quieting my insatiable appetite for her.  Watching Sleeping Beauty, I notice how beautiful she really is.  Why did I think her beauty was just normal before, when she is so obviously naturally beautiful?  She has a quiet natural beauty that doesn't need makeup.  Her beautiful blue eyes make me fall deep into them, always pulling me farther and farther.  The way her lips pout just a little and she always looks like she is wearing red lipstick.   Just thinking about those lips, I want to kiss them and then

Chapter 35: Lauryn
Opening the door to the penthouse, I feel strangely like I belong here.  It's hard to explain, because I have never really felt like I truly belonged anywhere before.  My whole life, people made fun of me and even my mom at one point wished that she didn't have me.  She felt that maybe her ex-husband would have wanted her then, instead of me.  Knowing this, I have never been able to get that close to anyone.  I guess Samantha is the closest, acting like a sister to me and Steve a big brother.  When I needed someone, they were always there for me growing up.  He came to my rescue, numerous times.  At one point, he would let me hang out with his friends and knew that I had a crush on him, but nothing ever happened.  It was just after my mom left my stepfather and he over heard me telling Samantha about what he did to me.  When he threatened to find the bastard and kill him, I somehow managed to get him to calm down.&nbs

Chapter 36: Darren
After cleaning up, the first thing on my mind is food.  Lauryn follows me into the kitchen and chops up the vegetables, while I cut up the beef and slice it into shavings.  Deciding to make Mongolian Beef for dinner, I boil rice and fry up the meat in a wok.  When Lauryn finishes her job, I take the vegetables and throw them in with the rest of it.  Watching the steam roll off of the stove, I crack the window open and turn around to continue cooking the food.  After frying up all the peppers and green onions, I pour in the soy sauce and brown sugar.  Mixing it all together, I taste a piece and satisfied, let Lauryn sample it.  Sitting on a stool, her eyes pop open when she tastes it. "Careful, It's still too hot."  I tell her, when she tries to get another sample.  "I blew that one off for a few minutes, before giving it to you.  I don't want you to burn yourself."  She looks at me with adoring eye

Chapter 37: Lauryn
Sitting down at my desk, I think about the weekend and what it means in the grand scheme of things.  Is he planning on asking me to marry him?  Or live with him full time?  Be his play thing?  What?  Not knowing what his plan truly is for me, I shake my head and give up for the moment.  Picking up several papers strewn on my desk, I file them and see a note hiding under the lip of my desk calendar.  It has my name on it written in cursive.Curious, I open it and look inside.  The only thing in it is a note card.  Plain white business card stock, the kind of thing you see wedding or baby shower invitations printed on.  It says, Meet me at the fountain on Tuesday.  Be there at 11 a.m.Looking around to see if anyone is watching me, I slip it in my purse and start filing my papers.  Who in the world wants to meet me and why?  More importantly, why so secret? Questions plagu

Chapter 38: Darren
Leaving Lauryn's office, I head up to go kick Jake's ass, but decide to leave it alone for the moment when I see the door is closed and hear Theresa in there.  I have more important things to do.  After completing some paperwork and calling Lewis about Damen Rodriguez, I hurry off to my buddies' jewelry shop at lunch. Ben and I go way back.  We went to college together and partied too much at the frat.  We stayed friends throughout the years and when I need something special, he's my man.  When I asked Jaiden to marry me, I got an exquisite ruby and diamond combo.  The minute she saw it, she cried and said yes.  Of course, she was a money digging whore.  The day I left that bitch, I felt free.  I still can't believe that she fucked my best friend and kept their relationship hid from me for years.   Shaking my head, I walk into his little jewelry shop.  He turns around at the doorbell and laughs.

Chapter 39: Lauryn
The end of the day finally rolls around and I pack up my stuff to leave and go to the penthouse.  Making sure I have the elevator key, I shut my door and walk to the parking garage.  On the way, I notice Janet standing in the lobby and decide to ask if I can give her a lift anywhere.  After all, I do have an hour before I have to be at the penthouse. "Hey, do you need a ride?  I'm on my way out anyways?"  I stand there smiling, figuring that I would give her one more chance.  I know that he didn't give her an option, and she really needed the money. "Girl, I didn't think you would ever talk to me again after that.  Mr. Denver didn't give me a choice.  When he offered I had to take it.  My rent was due and I didn't have it."  She starts to laugh and then thinks twice about it. "Well, let's say that I am a forgiving person to a point."   She immediately frowns.  "I am really sorry.  I

Chapter 40: Darren
Taking her back to the penthouse, we stop briefly at the store to grab some wine, a package of strawberries and a can of whip cream.  Arriving at home, I scoop her up in my arms and carry her up to the rooftop.  The look in her eyes is that of a child, when she sees the lights of the city surrounding us.   In the corner, I had a small table placed with chairs.  On the table is a lit candle and a wrapped gift for her.  When she realizes that it is for her, her eyes double in size and she practically jumps out of my arms.   Considering that I have already given her a ring, she doesn't have a clue what is in it.   "For me?"  She asks, and takes it. "Yes, baby.  It's for you.  Something you won't expect."  I wait for her to open it. First, she takes the bow off and places it aside.  Then, she unwraps it.  Opening the box, she reveals what's inside and gasps.  A re
