Chapter 31
There is something Monica wasn’t telling me... something she was trying to hide from me. Whatever it was had so much weight that she just couldn’t bring herself to say, which is fine by me. After the little time I had with her yesterday, I was able to find out a thing or two from her. One of which was that she had something against the stranger I found out to be Brix’s grandfather. It was a little strange when she reacted out of likely disgust after affirming the man’s identity to me. But she had tried to cover up all the same for her sudden irritation. Whatever issues she had against the man has now piqued my interest, adding that to the list of things I needed to conquer. Who knows, it might be a link to all of what I intend to find in this pack. Asides from her sudden snap about the stranger, I remember what she had been doing that also caught my interest. The constant stares she had given to t

Chapter 32
The Green Woods pack should be the most secure. With everything I’ve learned about this pack before my arrival, it never has issues regarding security and the likes. And for sure, that has been evident since my arrival.   But... what the hell was a fucking rogue doing here, for crying out loud?   Don’t panic, I tell myself. I guess the main question should be how a rogue got in here in the first place. It’s complicated and undoubtedly unbelievable. Even if my eyes weren’t seeing well, the stench was all over the place to indicate what was not too far away from me.   I was beginning to get disgusted by the protruding smell emanating from the brown wolf. Even though this should be the first time I encountered a rogue, the disgusting smell was enough to feel like it’s been the umpteenth time.   Rogues were different from the original pack members when it came to scent, sanity, and demeanor. Rogues becom

Chapter 33
A bright light hit my eyes so bad that I had to force myself to open them. I happen to realize it was the ray of the sun but with no idea how it managed to penetrate through the window to my face. What I do know is that it had disturbed one hell of a sleep. I stare up at the ceiling, trying to make out the outlines. There was something different about the way it looked, especially with the positioning of the light bulb overhead. It then took me back to the question of the sunray penetrating through to the room when I had the position of the bed in a way that prevented such. Or did I have the bed’s position changed already? I guess not. I sit up from the bed, pulling on the sheets from my chest as I take in the overflowing scent that was rampaging my nostrils. And that was when it hit me. This wasn’t my room! My first instinct is to look around because I literally have no idea how I got into a room that isn&rs

Chapter 34
Once he shut the door behind him, he stood by beside the door outside. With his back against the wall, he closed his eyes as he attempted to think things through again, right from where he stopped before he heard her voice earlier. That silent groan filled with pain had been clear to him at that time and he had no choice but to rush in to check on her. He needed answers as to how she had gotten attacked but she hadn’t helped matters by not telling him what he wanted to hear. Why couldn’t she just tell him the truth about Kylie confronting her? He really couldn’t tell who she was trying to protect, whether it was him or his sister. There was no way he would suspect his sister having a hand in the rogue attack, but as Adaliah kept on bottling up her emotions, it made it hard for him to know what else she was keeping from him. Probably key information that he could use to find the actual culprit. At dawn,

Chapter 35
I was sitting in my room with no hope of leaving anytime soon. And it’s because I’m still on the verge of recuperation. I needed to get back to full recovery before I could even think of going out.   I have healed already. You couldn’t even see any scar on my body to indicate I had been brutally attacked some days back but my insides were entirely different. My internal system was screaming in pain and I think I might pass out anytime soon. I wonder what had been used against me to make me feel so much pain like this.   The rate at which I was vulnerable was that I couldn’t even take a step without feeling hurt around my waist. It has been a really difficult two days for me. And more of a lonely one too.   In the past, whenever I was down or bored, I always had Anya to cheer me up. But for two days now, I haven’t been in touch with her. She had completely zoned out of the space she had in my head, but I could still feel

Chapter 36
‘Uncle…’ I make a slight break as I try to summon up the courage in me. When I do, I finally say, ‘I’m forfeiting the mission,’ Announcing that was probably the hardest decision I have ever taken in the last two years of my life. Probably harder than the time I had decided to be under the custody of my grandmother who wasn’t anything my parent, although that was much more than two years ago. I can’t say I regret making the decision because I have to do it. I do not think I’m left with any other choice. It’s been barely two weeks, or should I say more than two weeks, since I familiarized myself with this pack. However, the experience of those two weeks has been one I never expected to even encounter. First, I get threatened to leave my mate by a jealous wimp and a likely overprotective sister and friend. The next thing is that I almost get killed by rogue wolves

Chapter 37
“Ronald, are you sure we are doing the right thing?” Simon asked as he kept his eyes on the road ahead. He had his hands gripped on the steering wheel while driving deep inside the woods. Even though his vision was almost obstructed due to the overshadowing of the trees on both sides of the road, he still forged ahead. As he hadn’t received a response — which he mostly expected — from his companion yet, he continued speaking, “I don’t think going to meet with the elder is a great idea. We could end up building a false accusation against him and that wouldn’t be good for the pack’s reputation,” “I know what I am doing,” came the response from the Alpha in the passenger’s seat. Something similar to a snarl, although silent, accompanied the Alpha’s response. Still, Simon wasn’t afraid to ask, “And you think you are not doing this

A funny expression appeared on the elder’s face as soon as he heard that from the alpha. He wasn’t sure if he was to laugh because found the accusation funny. He had to look at both the alpha and his companion to ascertain if it wasn’t a joke. But with their serious facades, he knew it was a serious situation. What else could he expect from the ever-serious alpha? The elder coughed before speaking, “I have nothing to say concerning your allegation against me, Alpha Ronald,” he followed up his statement with a smile before looking away from the two by the side. “It is not an allegation, Elder Damien. As I said before, I’m only trying to clarify if you have a hand in what happened,” Ronald countered instantly with his voice turning ice cold. It was simply indicating he wasn’t there for casuals. The elder had already picked up a book from the collection he had on the foo

Chapter 39
Someone barged into my room while I was trying to shut my eyes close for a quick nap, and before I knew it, I was up on my feet. I’m starting to wonder if no one around here knew how to knock because this wasn’t the first time I’m experiencing such an attitude.   I set my eyes on the intruder to see it was Garrett. I should have expected it because lately, he has been doing nothing but come into my room to check on me, which I wasn’t really okay with but have no choice but to adhere to. Except for this time, there was something different about the way he came in as well as his expression which showed he was rather annoyed.   Before I could say anything about his sudden intrusion, he beats me to speak.   “Why didn’t you tell me?” was the question he threw at me, and it felt more like a snap.   Okay, now I was pretty annoyed. Why didn’t I tell him what? That he has no right to barge in like that? Or th

Chapter 40
I can’t be blamed for still harboring the thought of the first-time pleasure I explored with Garrett. Being a newbie to such, it was hard to get the experience out of my head. It made it seem like it was just yesterday it had happened even though it has been a week already. The feeling I still had from it was something I don’t have the right words for. It felt like I went through a phase and was about to start a new one, if that was the best way I could describe the feeling. But what I do know is that I want to go through that feeling again. I never expected it to happen. And with my constant saucy behavior toward Garrett, I never imagined he would pull such a stunt. But he did. And here I am, still unable to keep him out of my mind. The fact that I didn’t pull away was enough to know I needed that kiss from him. I think I believe now that the first kiss with the right person was the most magical. It is
