The sound of wings echoed through the forest as the Draco landed on a large open area. It flapped its wings, revealing its glorious and majestic body. Its horns, part of its current evolution, were terrifying to behold. Its body was made purely to destroy and rip apart its targets. It lightly growled to greet its challenger.  Across the Draco, there was a large bipedal animal. It roared at the Draco and thumped its chest with its powerful arms. It was a berserker ape. Its giant body was adorned with evolved muscles. Compared to the one that evolved in front of Elizabeth, this berserker ape had the time to get used to its new abilities.  It was dangerous and even David would be hard-pressed to defeat one.  

David needed to move. Each second he spent standing still or not moving towards the Draco’s nest meant more seconds in which Elizabeth to fight the Draco.    Each second wasted meant more chances that Elizabeth would die.    Looking at the super reptiles surrounding him, David immediately charges at the one in front of him.   The advance of the super reptiles suddenly stopped due to surprise. They did not expect their “prey” to advance towards them.   David hefts the steel spear, an advanced weapon that elevated humanity from a bunch of cavemen to a warfaring species. Elizabeth watched both in horror and excitement as the berserker ape stood up. She saw that its ripped open chest was fully healed. Its face was angry but not of blind rage but determined purpose.  Taking a deep breath, the berserker ape releases a powerful roar that creates an invisible shockwave that affects all the living creatures that could hear it. The Draco was not a sentient creature in the way that humans can talk, understand, or think about abstract concepts but it was still a living and breathing creature. It had desires, albeit not as complex, like all human beings.  It desired food and had complex enough taste buds to prefer meals from tender meat in comparison to tough meat. It also preferred being in the sunlight as it felt more comfortable in the heat than cold. It enjoyed eating living animals compared to dead carcasses.  And just like any good human parent, the Draco also wanted its true offspring to prosper and grow up to become like him or even better than him.
