Chapter 41 - Fighting
ZackI burst through the trees and land in a small clearing.  Jacob and Hunter follow right behind me. I’m greeted with chaos and take a moment to scan the area.   Realization quickly sinks in there are a lot more intruders than in previous attacks.  Usually, when they come, they have a smaller number of werewolves, which we can handle right away.  But not this time. There are at least 30 rogues swarming the area and only about 15 of us, but I don’t let that deter me. I crouch down, ready to attack.  My black glossy fur stands upright as a growl rips through me. I’m only giving them one warning before I pick my target.A yelp suddenly rings out as the copter smell of blood fills my nose.  My head instantly whips in the direction of the noise. A large brown wolf towers over a small little wolf.  My blood instantly boils.  The s

Chapter 42 - Awake
ZackDid Bryanna wake up?  Is that what it means to have these feelings flood through our connection? Please, let it mean she is awake. My heart hammers against my chest as I continue to pray to the moon goddess for my mate to be awake while I sprint as fast as I can.  I desperately want to look into her gorgeous green eyes again. As I jump through the edge of the trees, the pack house isn’t too far from me now.  I take a moment and glance around.  No one has emerged from the underground bunkers yet.  The outside door to the bunker only allows people to leave, but it is designed for safety purposes so no one can get in from the outside.  Instead, I must enter the bunker from one of the hidden entrances within the buildings. I bolt through the front door of the pack house, shifting back to my human form right before I reach the entrance. From behind me, Hunter grunts

Chapter 43 - Awake Again
Little jolts of electricity shoot along my lips and pull me from the darkness. I slowly open my eyes.  Unlike before, when I woke up alone, I’m now surrounded by a room full of people.  A smile explodes across my face when I look up and into my mate’s sparkling blue eyes.  I’ve missed seeing those gorgeous eyes.  His eyes glisten as his large hands cup my face while he leans down towards me.  My stomach flutters as his deep voice softly chimes, “I’m glad you are back.” My heart skips a beat.  I’m glad to be back, too. Before I can reply, he captures my lips in a passionate kiss, while everyone else in the room fades away.  The only thing I can hear is our quick heartbeats beating in time with each other.  His warmth seeps into my mouth and then radiates throughout my body, igniting a yearning for more than just his lips.  Cough… Cough… I put my hand on his firm chest and relu

Chapter 44 - Friendly Argument
LindseyI sit silently with my back facing Bethany in the car, giving her the cold shoulder. Why does she constantly block me from having some fun?  All she has to do is say no and I would have gone off by myself.  But noooooooo…. She came along and then always made some stupid comment or dumb remark about my parents or my brothers which would chase the man candy away. UGH….  All I want is a little bit of fun.  Plus, we haven’t found our mates. At this rate we never will have sex.  She may be find with it, but I’m certainly not. All our friends have either found their mates or have found a partner to be with.  We are the last two and everyone knows we are still virgins.  This trip may have been for my parents to try and find us mates, but for me, it is my chance to finally become a real woman and enjoy having someone fondling me while we become one

Chapter 45 - Searching
Zack “What do you mean, Lindsey is still out in the forest somewhere?” I look across the table at my parents. Sadness instantly fills their eyes while their concern is etched across their faces. I press my lips together and stare at them while I fight the urge to tell them I have finally found my mate. To keep Bryanna’s secret safe, Blake and I have promised to not tell anyone. So instead of proudly showing off my mating mark to them like I’ve always dreamed of, I’m hiding it as if it is something to be ashamed of. My upper lip slightly curls as my shirt’s collar digs into my neck, feeling more like a rough noose than a dress shirt. My fingers twitch and itch to pull the fabric down and away from me. But I fight against the urge. My father sighs and shakes his head. “I don’t know. We tried to ask her what was going on, but neither her nor Beth would say anything. Even now, Beth isn’t telling us anything. We could tell something had happened between the girls, but w

Chapter 46 - First Step
Zack My heart races as I jump over a bush and dart through the trees. Where can my sister be? I swear we have searched every inch of our pack lands, but we still haven’t gotten any clues as to where she is hiding. Maybe she isn’t in our territory anymore. I shake my head. No. She wouldn’t venture out on her own, but where can she be? I duck under a low branch as my paws pound against the ground. Dirt flies behind me while I continue to run as fast as I can. My legs suddenly wobble, and my breath hitches as I slow down a little. How long have I been out here? I can’t remember. The sun has set, and the sky is now turning dark. I need to stop for the night, but I don’t want to. I need to find her first before I can go back home. My wolf whines, “Let’s head to the stream up ahead and rest for a bit. Maybe we can catch a fish and eat too. We have been at this for hours without finding anything, not even her scent. It is time for us to rest for a bit and eat.” I don

Chapter 47 - Finally Found
BlakeStanding outside Bryanna’s hospital room, I stare at the door and take a deep breath. What am I going to say to her? There is no way I’m going to tell her that not only did I lose my sister, but I also lost Zack while searching for Lindsey. The only upside is I haven’t felt either of their connections break. So, I know they are alive, but I don’t have a clue where they are. Maybe she won’t be awake yet. It is early in the morning, but I couldn’t sleep not knowing where my brother and sister are at. My blood still boils when I think about what my sister was going to do and the reason she and Beth fought. She is the baby of the family, but she thought picking up boys is a good thing. Even though our parents keep asking what happened, I’m not going to tell them. Plus, I’m also sure Lindsey probably doesn’t want them to know. My hand tightens around my coffee mug as I gather my courage. I may be the alpha of this pack, and Bryanna is an omega. But even without the spell

Chapter 48 - Telling the Mothers
BryannaFear wraps around me and digs into my soul as I stare down at my phone. I’ve put off returning the mothers’ almost non-stop messages and calling for over an hour now. They should have been asleep, but for some crazy reason, they aren’t. Hunter gently pats my leg. “Put it on speaker so Jacob and I can help if there is anything you don’t want to answer or don’t feel comfortable talking about. Okay.”My chest tightens as I tear my eyes away from my phone, shaking in front of me, and look up at him, meeting his concerned gaze. Silently, I plead for this all to magically disappear. His sympathetic eyes and slight frown give me his answer, but I don’t want it. Ring…ring…ring…My phone nearly slips from my trembling hands as I wish this was only a terrible nightmare where I can wake up and it would all be gone. Jacob, on the other side of the bed, slowly pats my arm. “You can’t hide from them. They will find you. So, it is best to just get this over with. I have a crazy

Chapter 49 - Going to meet her
Lindsey“Come on. We need to get back. I want to talk to your mate.” With a bright smile, I bounce beside Zack as his enormous wolf stares at me like I’ve lost my mind. I excitedly tug on his fur along the side of his neck, hoping he will agree, but he won’t budge. Why isn’t he moving? My smile falters a bit as I narrow my eyes and glare at him. “What is taking you so long? You even told me you didn’t want to spend the night out without your mate since you have just claimed each other. I’m sure your wolf is going crazy. We should get back.”His eyebrow raises as he remains silent, but the last thing I want right now is his silence. I grab another handful of his fur and pull it. “Come on. You don’t want to make your mate worried, or heaven forbid, mad.”He tilts his head and stares at me for a moment before his large paw pushes my hands, trying to free them from his furs. My grip tightens, not wanting to let go, but he digs his claws into my soft flesh. I let out a faint

Chapter 50 - Mother's Arrival
Bryanna I glance over at the nightstand and the clock. It has been a few hours since the phone call with the mothers. I bite the inside of my lip as I wonder if they are really coming. That is a silly question. Of course, they are coming, and they are going to ‘inspect’ my mate to see if he is good enough, but will they stop at that or are they going to do more in the name of protecting me? My fingers fidget with the edge of the sheet, pulled up to my chest. Wild scenarios play in my mind while my stomach twists into knots. Hunter, who is sitting beside the bed, lightly slaps my leg. “Hey, stop worrying. Jacob and I are going to be here, and we won’t let our mothers chase Zack away. Plus, they have already met him briefly before, so they aren’t coming into this completely clueless.” The corner of my mouth curls down into a frown as my eyes drift over to him. Their mothers were on a war path the last time they were here. I don’t know if they remember much of anything be
