40: The power of forgiveness
A knock comes to my door and I mentally try to discern who it is. Yes, I have an outing with Ken today because we plan on seeing the places we haven’t been to at the north central before the first half result comes out. Yet, I am not so sure he would come over by this time. I would say mama, but she doesn’t come back this early from work; she never has. Besides, she has her own key and wouldn’t have to knock to get in unless she lost the key, which I very much doubt. I wonder if there’s even someone at the door to begin with. The knock comes the second time, and groaning; I rise from the bed and make my way out. “Who’s there?” I grumble as I get to the door, but silence greets me back. “If you don’t speak, this door will stay close.” “It’s me, Jaclyn, open up,” the familiar voice came, but not belonging to mama, Ken or Dane. However, it’s a voice I&

41: Never coming back
I set my bags together and zipped them up. It’s been three days since the result of the first half of training came out and it’s time to leave for Beverly Hill, the big city where our final half of the Go Project training will begin.I received emails three days ago, congratulating me on making it to the top five candidates for the project and I remember running around the house overwhelmed with joy. Ken called about an hour later to tell me he also passed onto the final half and hearing that brought tears to my eyes. Then I called Caroline and she told me she also made it through. That day somehow became my happiest day along with the day I got accepted into the UA. I began preparations to leave, excited for the journey about to unfold. Mama felt proud after I broke the news to her and she told me the sky would be a stepping stone for me. So far, she has helped me put some stuff together, and she got me provisions and a few food items. I

42: A little of everything
I stepped out of the bus, having reached the destination and my legs were barely holding it together. I had crushing motion sickness and despite the ease and comfort the tour bus provided; it didn’t ease how I felt.Ken noticed my struggles thirty minutes into the journey to Beverly Hills and he held onto my hand. I realise as we journeyed that I had never gone that far all my life. The city side of the north was amazing compared to our little town. The building was bigger and the roads wider and the atmosphere busier.I take it all in and silently tell myself UA had already prepared me for everything that was is to come. Nothing would take me by surprise and if it did, I had my friends beside me and they will see me through.“Are we going to live here?!” Caroline whispers, sounding half excited half curious as she stepped out to see the massive building before her.“I think so,” Ken replied, and she giggled in excitement.

43: When the worse never ends
I feel a pair of powerful arms of Alpha Dane wrap around me and my body stills for a second before relaxing into his hold. Slowly his hand takes the soap out of my hand and lather it over my skin his hand causing heat to form between my legs at his touch, he washes me from behind, his hands swinging forward to rub over both breast and their nipples harden at his touch. A long moan leaves my mouth as he softly fondles my breast, his large hands doing such fine jobs on them. I thrust my hips back against him, unable to stop the heat settling between my legs and he takes the cue and grabs hold of my hips, his long fingernails digging into the flesh of my butt. The impact causes both pain and pleasure, and my head falls back to rest against his chest.  “You’re mine!” he growls into my ears, and I moan in response.  His touch not only claims but also told me who I belonged to, and that was him, no one else.  “I’m yours!” His fingers

44: Trouble and its many shades
Ken insisted he wanted to walk me to my door despite us all living in the same compound and the door to his house next to mine. I figured this was his way of being nice since he knew the hectic day I had and how I almost missed the bus because of work. Ken closeness isn’t a surprise, he’s always been this way for the longest time, but I’ve, however, noticed the closeness of Caroline and Quinton. Since there was no bad blood between Quinton and me anymore, I put little mind that Caroline sat beside him on the bus while we drove to work and also while we came back. It was odd, but easily dismissible. However, once in a while, I noticed the side looks and the small giggles and I do not want to jump, but something more than friendship is going on between those two.And while they got down from the bus earlier, their hands entwine and together they made their way towards Caroline’s door.I leave the thought of the two lovebirds when I he

45: Rules made rigid
He thrust his fist forward but Quinton, who grabs and twists his hand to the back, suspends it. The man winces and tries to shake Quinton off, but he couldn’t. Three other men step forward from the crowd standing by and they surge toward Quinton. Before we know it, Caroline and I throw ourselves into the fight, with fist flying and jaw cracking. We get subdued and eventually pinned to the floor. And while the rest will experience rapid healing in no time, I won’t and my body ached from having received a few blows and now being pinned to the floor. The men drag Ken forward. His face sustained a few bruises and bust lips and the creepy man now had a victorious look over his smug face even as his eyes glowed blue.“This will show you to never cross, Fernando!” he growls. His fingers transform into a sharp claw and he lifts it to rip through Ken, but someone grabs hold of his hand and hurled him across the hall. His body slams aga

46: Sins of the father
Unlike the last week that I finished my assignment and took the bus with the rest members of the team, today I’m still far behind despite five p.m. being less than thirty minutes away. It feels as if I’m being punished in the place of Ken and Quinton because a week has gone by and I haven't heard anything hinting their punishment. Instead, I’m the one getting bombarded by unending work and assignments. Perhaps Avril learnt about our rebellion and picked me as the scapegoat or perhaps Dane instructed her to double my task because the later I close, the fewer the chances of me joining any rebellion. Our communication with each other has also been limited and the attendants at the estate received instructions to keep us as far apart as they can. Ken, however, being a stubborn witch of the north, often cast a spell that blinds the attendants while he sneaks in to talk to me. We both know if he gets caught that’l

47: What's more important
“How do I look?” I ask Caroline, rising from before the dressing mirror and turning to have her inspect me. I have on a grey short-sleeved shirt and black trousers and two black shoulder straps. Caroline came in to keep me company about five minutes ago since she was already set and just waiting for the time of our departure.“You look great,” she gushes, covering her mouth up with her hands. “Now I’m rethinking the outfit I received.” She wearily reveals. “Don’t do that, your gown looks amazing on you,” I reveal in honesty, eyeing her red lacy gown that hugs all her curves in the right places. She looks exquisite in her gown and the black three inches heel she has on and I don’t understand where her scepticism is coming from. She pouts, blinking a few times, and I know she’s having a hard time believing it.“Well, I don’t know what the mirror you stared

48: False hope
I exit the first door and run to the second to pull at it, but it is locked and I see no security in place. I pull at it repeatedly, but it won’t open. I groan and slam my palm against it, causing pain to shoot through my hand to the rest of my body, and I groan.I hear a beep on the door and this time when I pull at it; it opens and just as I am about to step out; I hear. “Where do you think you’re going?” Avril demands, stepping out of the shadow that leads into the hall of the lighthouse and reveals herself in a long black gown and curly red hair which she let fall over her shoulders. I’d say she looks like an angel if I don’t already know the devil lives in her. “I need to leave, my...” I begin, but she doesn’t let me finish“You have a thing for breaking the rules, don’t you?” she steps towards me, her displeasure on full display. “That

49: A fleeting type of happiness
“Ms Tarr?” I hear a faint unfamiliar voice and slowly, my lashes pull apart to find the doctor at the entrance of the waiting room. I slowly sit up on the long chair I laid on, only to have a black three-piece suit fall onto my lap. This belongs to Dane and the last time I saw him, he had it on. My eyes scan the waiting room, but there’s no trace of Dane left but for his jacket around me for warmth. How nice it is of him to even think about my comfort while I sleep.  His jacket feels so cosy and rich with the smell of him and I’m considering the thought of keeping it.  I don’t remember falling asleep, and I don’t know what other embarrassing stunt I pulled last night. I silently thank the moon goddess that Dane isn’t around to see me in all my morning disasters. “That’s me, I’m Ms Tarr.” I pull myself onto my feet and approach the doctor who leads me out of the waiting doom and into his office.  After ten minutes in his office,
