Chapter 11: The Crazy Gary
I jumped as Gary barged in with anger evident on his face. “Linda, why are you here?” With everything that had happened in the bathroom in mind, I quickly looked down to make sure the bathrobe I donned was secure. “How can you barge into my bathroom?” Gary’s face was pale and greenish, and he was giving me a very dark look. I suddenly recalled the incident the day before when he had intentions of violating me. Very cautiously, I urged him. “If there’s anything you need to see me about, can you at least wait until I finish changing into my clothes?” After saying that, I wanted to head out of the bathroom. But Gary stood forward to block my way and closed the bathroom door behind him. “What did we talk about yesterday, Linda? Have you forgotten already?” He asked through gritted teeth, even as he glared fiercely at me.I took one step backward by reflex, but tried staying calm and explained, “I have no idea what you’re talking about, professor. Appearing in your student’s ba

Chapter 12: A Storm is Coming
“A storm!”“A storm is coming!” The crew shouted from outside. The ship started shaking even more violently than before. It seemed that Gary had exited the bathroom, so I quickly got dressed. I hid in my cabin and locked the cabin door from the inside. The storm came too suddenly, even professional sailors couldn’t predict its arrival. With the chaotic winds outside, the rain droplets slammed onto the windows and its trails could be seen against the clear glass. Suddenly, I saw a dark silhouette speed past my window. Its speed was shocking, unlike the speed of a normal human being. I thought it was just something being blown away by the wind. All of a sudden, I saw a hand similar to a human’s appear on the window, the spaces between its five fingers were connected with a transparent membrane. That was a merperson’s webbed claw! But the moment I blinked, the hand disappeared as if I had hallucinated it. I attentively looked at the window and traced the area where the hand

Chapter 13: The Mysterious Merman
I immediately got up and tried to escape, but I was blocked by a wet and dripping arm. The merman then spun me around to face him. I was petrified. The merman could use his tail to prop himself upright and his height exceeded mine greatly. I was completely covered in his shadow. As the sea breeze blew, his seaweed-like long hair caressed my face and body. Then, he bent his fishtail to align his line of sight with mine. He subsequently grabbed my shoulders and forced me to make eye contact with him. ‘Ahh! What is this merman doing?’ His pale face came closer to mine and he began sniffing my neck. He directed his eyes right above my collarbone, lowered his head, and inhaled deeply. My petrified body didn’t know how to react because I didn’t understand the meaning of this merman’s actions. Then, he gently sliced my shirt apart with his webbed claws, buried his face over my chest and inhaled deeply! My heart was beating rapidly and I could feel my chest beginning to heave. T

Chapter 14: Healing Saliva
I thought he was showing me an act of kindness, so I thought of dealing with him in a peaceful manner. It turned out that I was too naive!I tried to pull my fingers away from his firm grip, however by just exerting a little force, the merman took control of my hand. He then bared his teeth towards me with a threatening look. I looked at my hand and was surprised to see that the wound on my hand was completely gone!Turns out the merman really was showing me kindness by healing my wound! This was too incredible! If I wasn’t the one who experienced it, I wouldn’t have believed it either. Merpeople must have some regenerative substances in their saliva that could accelerate cell reproduction! Even modern medicine had not advanced to this degree!I completely forgot about the fear I was feeling a second ago and excitedly touched his lips as I said to myself, ‘You really surprise me…’The merman felt my gentle caress and opened his lips, producing the same set of syllables he had u

Chapter 15: Don't Shoot the Merman!
Despite being held at gunpoint, Dicken didn’t jump into the sea. Instead, he stood tall and confidently as he faced Gary. He arched his back slightly and it looked like he was preparing to attack. The whole time he kept me tucked behind him. Dicken had already gotten into a combat position. His upper body was leaned forward and his hands were like a pair of sharp sickles, he looked like a demon that had risen from hell. I couldn’t let them face off like this, it would become a disaster!I mustered all of my courage as I popped out from behind Dicken. I extended my arms and jumped in front of Dicken then shouted, “Gary, don’t pull the trigger!” Gary didn’t listen to me, he even undid the safety lock. He said cruelly, “Back off, Linda. This is a military operation.” “What?” I forced myself to remain calm. ‘What does the research Gary and I did have anything to do with military operations? Gary must be hiding something from me. There must be a scheme behind this!’ “As a biologi

Chapter 16: The Merman is Dying
I looked at him sharply. “What is the meaning of this?”Gary froze for a second then revealed an evil smirk. “Linda, my adorable student, you think I did this? God can guarantee my innocence. The doctor restrained you because you were struggling violently when you were knocked out. It was as if you were being violated. The doctor was worried you’d accidentally hurt yourself!” “What did you say?”, I obviously didn’t believe a single word Gary said. But when I recalled what had happened in the dream, the events below deck, and my experiences in the shower, I couldn’t retain my composure. Gary gave a one over across my body and then finally landed his gaze on my bare thighs. He bore a shameless smile and said, “Although, you did just remind me that what the doctor did to you isn’t bad, he actually made it more convenient for me.” He slowly turned to my bare thigh and placed a hand on it to feel my skin. I froze immediately and warned him, “Go away, don’t touch me!”But my words we

Chapter 17: My Saviour
I didn’t want to believe what I had just heard even as my mind went blank—it was such a devastating piece of information that I became too preoccupied with it to resist Gary. However, disenchantment had completely overcome me, and I gave up on fighting back at all.Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!Just then, a series of banging sounds came from the door of the cabin. A man’s voice could be heard shouting, “Professor Gary, are you alright? Was that your voice? I heard someone calling for help.”This voice pulled me out of my despair. “Save me! Please help me, doctor! Help me!” At that moment, it was as if I had caught a lifeline. I desperately responded to the voice right outside the door and my body continued struggling as it did before. This gave Gary no choice but to let go of me, so he got off of me. Gary glared at me, then grabbed a blanket to cover me before walking towards the door. I quickly used my free hand to straighten my pants. I could hear both men discussing something

Chapter 18: Seeing the Merman, Again
Even though I didn’t know what Gary’s intentions in bringing me to this facility were, I still couldn’t help but be impressed by the place. The facility was built on a group of islands, and the reservoir was right below it. We had to take a lift down to where the reservoir was. If Gary wasn’t there to cause me trouble, working at such a facility wouldn’t be half bad. “Linda, what are you spacing out for?” said Peter as he patted me on the back when the doors of the lift opened. “Look, we’re already here.”Peter pressed his thumb onto a fingerprint scanner and brought me into a circular research room. The glass walls separated the space within from the underwater environment outside of it. It was as if we were traveling underwater. I felt the dampness and humidity of the seawater in the air, mixed in with the unique fragrance emitted by the merman. “Peter, do you smell something?” “What smell? Is it the fishy saltiness of the seawater?”“No, it’s some sort of fragrance.” I

Chapter 19: The Merman Climbed Out
The fragrance I had smelled when I first entered the reservoir was now overpowering to the point that it made me dizzy. It made my arms and legs go weak, and I inadvertently placed a palm on the glass to support myself. “Linda, he’s heading this way! The black box attracted him! I found the right frequency!” Peter raised the black box next to my ear and started to explain, “This is the frequency. This is the same frequency emitted by dolphins when they mate. We suspect that the dolphins suddenly went into heat when the merman produced this frequency.” I concentrated on the sounds produced by the black box and heard a few familiar syllables. “Di-ck-en.”“Do you hear it? I think this is the sound the merman produces when he wants to attract his mate!” Peter said proudly as he revealed his discovery. I, on the other hand, felt extremely embarrassed. I wanted to correct him, but his guess was not completely off the mark based on what the merman did to me before. As for the sounds

Chapter 20: The Merman’s Desire
The devilish growl roused me from my dazed stupor. I struggled to stand, and the fragrance emitted by the merman permeated my surroundings. The fragrance caused my body to weaken, I could not muster even a sliver of energy to stand up. Dicken crept up from between my legs and licked a trail along my leg, gradually going higher and higher. Then, he used both arms to lock my legs firmly against his lower body. This merman was really in heat, and he wanted to mate with me!But even as embarrassment tormented me, Dicken’s tail coiled around my legs, and he leveled his pale, beautiful face to mine. By reflex, I raised my hand to block my face from his and pressed my palm against his chin to stop him. With the limited space between us, I tried my best to remain calm. Although I didn’t know why Peter obeyed Dicken’s command to open the door, it seemed like we could communicate with him in simple English!“Dicken, this is a mistake...” As soon as the words left my mouth, I wanted t
