Luke could see where this was going, it had made Vera nervous. He wondered how bad could it be.He was going to be there for her no matter what. She just had to let him.‘Vera, I think you can tell what I feel for you.’ He started. He really didn’t know how to begin. This made Vera pull her hand out of his and took a step back.Luke saw the fright in her eyes.He didn’t want to frighten her.‘Vera, it’s ok. I'm not trying to admit my true feelings for you, yet. I just want you to know that I care for you a lot and I am worried about you.’‘What is it, you are really trying to ask me, Luke.’ Vera demanded. She knew what he was wanting to ask.She just wanted him to just spill it.Even though, she didn’t want to tell him in the first place. But now she was left with no choice.‘You haven’t had a coffee all day.

It left them both in shock.Vera thought she didn’t have it in her.But she wasn’t going to apologize. She was way too mad for that.‘I won’t apologise,’ Vera told him.‘Don’t.’ He ground out.It was the first for Luke to show that he was mad with her.Vera thought it was a good thing. That it would break the connection that she was trying so had not to build. But he felt bad.He didn’t want to show Vera his anger. He never wanted to show Vera that part of him.He also feared that he broke everything he thought he built with her. ‘Vera,’ he breathed.‘Am I interrupting anything?’ suddenly they heard Josh.Luke was going to speak but Vera got in before him.‘No. But you are taking me home. Now!’ Vera demanded Josh. This made him frown and then looked to Luke to see w

Luke waited to hear what Vera had to say.Though he saw that she had become a little vulnerable. He wondered why.He didn’t want Vera to ever feel vulnerable with him. This made him smile at her-to reassure her-and then scoot closer to her.‘You can tell me, Vera.’ He gently told her. This made Vera smile then. She knew she could tell him.And when Luke saw Vera smile, it made his heart race. And therefore, he couldn’t help slightly squeezing Vera’s hand.‘I know, Luke.’ She tells him. This made Luke’s world. She didn’t seem to be mad with him.But Luke knew she would have to be mad with him.And he would take it.‘Luke, I'm not mad. Well, I am. But I realized that I signed my right a way when I signed the contract. I am mad, that you wanted me to trust you. You wanted me to talk to you. Yet you couldn’t talk to me

Luke was surprised that Vera didn’t try and pull her hand out of his.He liked it though. He thought that her hand fit so perfect in his.It felt amazing and so it made him smile at her.And then he began to pull her towards the door.Vera, she eagerly went with him because she couldn’t wait to see the twins. Her children. It made her heart beat faster.Though when they were halfway down the stairs, she began to worry about how they were going to tell the children. She wondered would they be upset with her.Vera didn’t want the children to be upset with her.‘How are we going to tell them?’ Vera asked.‘I will tell them the truth.’ Luke said, offering her hand a gentle squeeze, as if to say, everything was going to be OK.This didn’t really make Vera feel any better. Not that he didn’t have faith in Luke. But because, she didn
