chapter twenty-one

Kyle and Amelias ceremony went well from what I could hear. Most people seemed genuinely happy to be receiving more pack memebers. It made me feel happy to hear the cheers and clapping for my friends. I knew we hadn't been here long and honestly I felt like Kyle had more interaction with everyone in the pack then Amelia and I had but I genuinely wanted my friends to be happy and liked because they were good people.    "Alright Kay are you ready?" Xander asked. I guess he had heard his cue or something as he linked his arm in mine. I nodded.    "Ready when you are." I said with a smile. Xander smiled down at me and opened the door for me to head out first. We headed down the side of the pack house til I saw the start of a beautiful silvery blue carpet. As we got closer I saw small pillars with vases housing different blue flowers lineing the isle, it was gorgeous. A few people turned and looked at me but for the most part no one was a

chapter twenty two

The next morning I woke with a splitting headache. I rolled over to Dominic and almost had a panic attack when I didn't feel him next to me. It was sunday, we usually didn't do training exercises on the weekend to just give everyone, including ourselves a few days to relax. I went to stand but the world spun and my legs gave beneath me causing me to fall back on the bed.   Zariah? I called out to her.   I'm here baby.   What's going on with me? Why do I feel like this? What happened during the pack run?   Nothing out of the ordinary. Only difference is Domincs wolf and I did the deed. I rolled my eyes that didn't surprise me.   Doesn't explain why my head is killing me or why I feel so dizzy. She was quiet a moment.   I'm not sure do you want me to reach out to Zeff and tell him somethings wrong?&n

chapter twenty three

When I woke up I was in an unfamiliar room but could hear faint beeps and it honsetly smelt like a hospital. I looked around the dark room and saw Dominic sleeping soundly in a chair. I didn't want to wake him but a part of me worried he would be upset if I didn't. After a few moments I gave in and stood up and crossed the small gap to sit in his lap and lay my head against his shoulder. After a few minuets he woke up and looked down at me confused. I smiled up at him and I could see the relief on his face. "Hey angel how are you feeling?" I shrugged. "Like I got hit by a bus but I feel better than I did this morning." He nodded. "Good. Most of the withdrawl effects should be over by now so tomorrow you should be able to come home hopefully." I nodded. "I hope so, I hate hospitals." He chuckled. "You and me both. I do have a question for you though baby that I didn't get to ask you sooner since you were exhausted after the pack run, especially because of what o

Chapter twenty- four

A few days after I was released Dominic held a meeting with the packs that agreed to fight with us. I was included as well as Xander, Rowan and a few others from our pack. I felt happy that we were going to finally be doing something about Elstan but Emron hadn't responded to me when I asked him about being Alpha of Deepridge in my stead since I was Luna of Palecrest now and I didn't want to leave here. Yes I still had some friends in Deepridge but I felt like it wasn't really home to me anymore, especially with so many of my former pack mates now being dead at Elstans hands. I felt like I had nothing to go back to and deep down that made me feel like shit. "Luna you know the territory best, what would be the best way to get in without causing too much alarm to quickly dispose of Elstan?" I looked up at Xander who was leaning over a map of the Deepridge packs territory. I looked over at it. "Honestly since I left the pack they've increased security and theres motion detecting

Chapter Twenty-five: Flashback Elstan

I stretched and snuggled up closer to the she wolf laying in my dorm bed next to me. My room mate and I had an understanding that he should make himself sparce on the weekends. Ever since going away from college I hadn't heard anything from Kaydence and a part of me hated that. I had been half expecting her to come crawling back by now and appologize for the public humiliation she had forced me into on the night of her eighteenth birthday. After all almost everyone knew she was nothing without me and she only had so many years before her father decided to step down as Alpha. I highly doubted she even had a second chance mate either since she was too timid to really talk to others. Plus she knew she belonged to me, I was the only one she would ever belong too. The she wold next to me began to stir as a phone on the table next to her began to vibrate frantically. We both ignored it and soon enough it stopped. Not for long though as it began to vibrate again almost immediately. Again

Chapter Twenty-six Dominic POV

I sat up in my bed watching Kaydence sleep. Seeing her back still made my heart ache because I wanted nothing more than to protect and cherish her. I wanted to give her the love she had never known while she had been with Elstan, but I knew she would never fully heal until this was over. She had expressed that she had still been having nightmares from her years with him when we had gone for a walk last night. I knew I didn't have the words to express to her how much I loved her, how much I have always loved her and just wanted her happiness. I felt so guilty though because I knew if I had never convinced myself she would be happier with him she wouldn't be like this. If I had just stepped in and mettled years ago rather than stepping down to him she would have never had to experience all those heart breaks. I felt guilty for listening to Elstans father when he explained that me and her could never work out because than who would control Deep Ridge if she left or Pale crest if I le

Chapter twenty-seven

"Luna there you are! I've been looking practically every where for you." Lilly said sitting on the bench next to me. I looked at her and smiled. "I'm sorry Lilly I was having a hard time sleeping so I went for a run early this morning. Is Dominic and the rest of the council looking me?" I asked quickly looking around. "Luna Kaydence they haven't even started yet. Breakfast is about to be served and Alpha Dominic was wondering if you were around the training grounds and asked me to stop by and check on my way onto patrol. Alpha Blaine had recieved a phone call this morning from Alpha Larson and wanted to discuss it with everyone as soon as breakfast was over." I sighed. "Oh boy that means another long day. Alright thanks Lilly I appreciate you finding me. I'll make my way up in a moment. Hopefully your patrol isn't too eventful today." She smiled at me and shook her head. "I honestly don't think Deep Ridge will do anything. At least not any time soon. Elstans never

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Dominic and I were the first back in the conference room after lunch. I had wanted to bring bottles of water and some snacks up here because I had a sinking feeling we wouldn't be done before dinner or if we were we would have to reconvene after dinner. Dominic had told me he doubted it but it would still be nice to have snacks and drinks. Especially the drinks since we all talked a lot durring the meetings. I wanted to point out not all of us were windbags like some people, but decided to be nice and just agree with him. I could tell he wasn't exactly in the mood for my sarcasm at the moment. I couldn't blame him really, especially since my sarcasm was just my way of hiding that something was bothering me. After a while everyone came back into the conference room. Amelia and Kyle were the only ones who didn't genuinely seem bothered still by what we had learned this morning. It took me a second to realize that Amelia was carrying a couple of pictures in her hand. She sat do

WARNING

The next chapter in this book is about Laina and some of her hardships. It talks about child abuse, alcoholism, pedophilia, rape and several other situations that may be triggering. Please know these characters are not based off of any one I personally know. The situation may be similar to things people face in real life, but they are not based off of any real life experience. That being said I do not condone any of these behaviors or the endagerment of a minor in anyway shape or form. This chapter purely exists to give some light to Laina Forcine and why she is the way she is and how she came to be with Elstan. The chapter is not essential to the story so feel free to skip it if you don't think you'll be able to handle the chapter. I do appologize if this upsets anyone, but it is a bit crucial to understanding some of what happened prior to Elstan challenging Kaydence for the Role of alpha in the first book and does explain some things that haven't been explained yet. There will be an

Chapter twenty-nine: Flashback Laina

I snuggled deeper into the musty blanket, it was so cold. Being a rouge wolf sucked. The places we stayed in, mostly caves, were never warm. I never had warm clean clothes or blankets either. However I could remember a time when I had warm clothes, food, blankets, hell even warm baths. That had been so long ago though. It hurt sometimes to remember those things. Everything felt like yesterday to me sometimes even though I had been considered a rouge wolf for a long time now. A part of me didn't even remember what living in a pack was like anymore, but I had a few memories of it. My favorite of course being around other wolves my age. There were a few children here and there, but we didn't stay with any rouge group for long. I just wanted to stay in the same spot for a couple of years. Was that too much to ask for? I also wanted to go to school like other kids we often saw, but being a rouge and not belonging anywhere made that practically impossible. Of course if I tried to ta
