Feels Right

Sleeping next to Max again last night felt right. I had never felt this way before about someone, even after having so many mates before. It’s almost as though he belongs to me, and not just as a temporary lover.Though that’s all this is to him. I can’t deny that it makes me feel a little sad, but it’s not as though I can take him with me when it is time for me to return home.I lean into him, my arms wrapped around him to soak in his cool skin. I hope he stays asleep like this for a little longer, just so that I can enjoy this while it lasts.Placing feathery kisses along his shoulder and neck, I can’t help but take full advantage of him being next to me. I’m sure when he wakes up, he’ll complain, but for now, I’ll enjoy myself.I pause as soon as I notice he has stirred slightly. I don’t want him to wake up yet, so I let him settle back down into sleep. He rolls onto his back, exposing his chest. Wi

Taking Over

“So, you two are getting touchy again,” Hafgan taunted me as he stood on the couch. Pointing at me, he makes a mocking face, and says, “a fire dragon getting it on with one of mine is hilarious!” I snarl at him while I back off, away from the couch. He just had to take over now, while I was getting Max in the mood. I was getting close to having him agree to go all the way with me. “He may be a very distant relation to you, but that is all he is. Max is nothing like you, Hafgan. Why don’t you just give up and battle me, rather than taunt me like a coward?” I shoot back at him. I hate this soul so damned much, but he never listens to me. Any other soul would obey me without question. He is the only one that refuses to do as I ask. I wonder if my father had this issue with him too? Though I have a feeling Hafgan would battle my father, no problem. “Aww, is the baby dragon getting all huffy?” Hafgan continues to taunt me. “He’s of my blood, and not yours to have,” he then says, his to

Traverse in Trance

Another week passes by and Hafgan has been testing my patience lately. This time, he took over while Max was at work and I got a phone call asking if he had come home or if there was a family issue. I almost had a heart attack, wondering what might have happened to him. I don’t know what Hafgan has been planning, but finding him wandering lost in the city made me realise he hasn’t got a clue where he is, even if he has control of Max’s body. Memories are hard things to see, even if you are the owner of such memories. I feel sorry for Max. Every time he wakes up, he is somewhere different. At home, these things are slight and can be brushed off, but this time? It is harder to pretend nothing is wrong. Even now, I can’t explain why he is here so far from where he was when he last had control of his body. As we walk back to the apartment in silence, I ring his workplace, explaining Max feels unwell, and that he’ll take the rest of the day off. He remains silent behind me. Whatever he

Just Us

While I’m not sure what has gotten into Max lately, I can’t say I am disappointed with his request to have sex with me. The only thing I worry about is Hafgan interrupting us during it. That would be the worst timing for me. Though I don’t think he wants to get involved in such acts, so perhaps he’ll stay quiet.Max looks anxious as he slides my shirt off. I’m not sure if he wants to go through with this, or if he is forcing himself. I look aside for a moment to think things through, before asking, “are you sure you’re ready for this? We don’t have to if you’re not ready?”“Even if you really want to?” Max asks, looking me in the eye.I nod my head slowly. “Even if I really want to, I’ll never force you into something you do not want or are not ready for, so,” I say, but before I can finish my words, his lips find mine.Leaning into his kiss, I can’t help but p

Fourth times the Charm

It was no joke thinking Max would want me to go faster, but harder and more than once, too? I lay on my back, completely spent. I’ve never gone more than once with someone before now. Something like this is beyond my expectations, especially for a mortal.“I… didn’t know sex felt so good,” Max sighs happily next to me. He is curled up, clinging to me, but even his icy touch isn’t helping keep me cool.Glancing at him, I can’t help but smile. He stopped being so hesitant as soon as he accepted everything. I probably created a monster, but a monster I’ll enjoy until I am forced to return home. I just hope I can save him from Hafgan sooner rather than later.Rubbing the back of his head with my hand, I chuckle softly. “Sex feels good for all involved, and with me, it’ll never hurt. You can be as wild as your heart desires,” I reply, trying to tease him.Despite the flush that spreads over his

Results Vary

When morning finally came and the two of us had bathed, and, of course, had more personal time in there, we were ready for our battle. I was sure this would fix everything and we could finally go back to our everyday lives. “I’d ask you to go easy on me… but then it wouldn’t be an actual battle, would it?” Max asked with a sigh. I shook my head. “Unfortunately,” I replied. I could only give him a sympathetic look. “With luck, Hafgan will switch over, as he hates to lose and losing even with you in control means he has to do as I command. Either way, I’ll save you from his control and we can put things right.” Max chewed his lower lip anxiously. I wasn’t sure what was on his mind, but it was clear something was bothering him. “Let’s get this over with,” he sighed, looking away from me. It was almost as though he didn’t want to go through with this, but I couldn’t imagine why not. Having another soul take over your body and mind is never a comfortable e

Author's Note: Mini Hiatus

I hate to do this to my readers, but I am going on a short hiatus. If I write at all, I may not post it just so I end up with a backlog. I have lost all of my motivation lately, and can't bring the words out no matter how hard I try. TT-TT I am deeply sorry for any inconvenience and I promise I'll continue the story as soon as I can! I hope things will go back to normal for me soon, but I need to take a break, I hope you understand and thank you for your patience. All my thanks, Yukiro!

Head North

We spend the day packing everything so that we can travel in comfort. I wanted to fly there, but Max wasn’t sure if he could handle riding in my hands for such a long journey. He also complained about the risk of getting caught in the air by aeroplanes and helicopters. It would look really strange for some random human to be flying in the air, no matter which way we sliced it.Although I have already flown around many times before, I realised we didn’t have any other choice. Though I guess he had a point. I can’t hide his presence in the air in the same way I can hide myself, so it was on the ground we had to go.It would take us about 50 hours if we walked the whole way, but I couldn’t risk catching the bus or train and having Hafgan suddenly take over. That wasn’t ideal either.Max suggested we could ride a bike there, which could cut the time down to 16 hours, breaks not included. That wasn’t a terrible option, but the ling

Destination Hotel

As soon as we arrive at the hotel, it comes as a relief to me that we're not too late. We’ve certainly cut it rather close though, but thankfully Max realised he did not want to sleep on the streets tonight. The hotel room is fancier than I expected, but it is still a far cry from what a God should live in. Still, I will make do with such humble accommodations. Besides, the bed is much bigger than his and that means we can enjoy ourselves a whole lot more. And in more ways than one.“Stop thinking dirty thoughts,” Max scolds me as he puts our backpacks down on the stand.I smirk but hold up my hands innocently. “I cannot stop. Stopping would require me to not want to see your blissful face again, and that is an impossible request to ask of me.”“Ugh, so cheesy,” Max complains at my flirting, but he can’t deny that my lines made him blush. “This isn’t a vacation… you realise that?” He

Moment Thought

I let Max head back to our room first, allowing myself a quiet moment to think over my thoughts and emotions. I need to figure out what is going on in my mind and heart before I do something foolish and reckless. One thing I know for sure is that I can’t bring the living back to Annwn. However, the desire to make Max mine keeps growing stronger. I don’t quite understand why, though? Indeed, a bit of fun is one thing, but to make him mine is another matter entirely.I lean against the wall of the hotel and glance up at what little of the stars these modern cities allow through their bright lights. So much on Earth has changed; it isn’t just the land and its people. No dragons soar these skies anymore, no magic flows through the lands. Sure, the Ancient Ones are still here, as are the werewolves, but the spirits and Gods are silent. With a gentle breath in and out, I close my eyes and recall what the skies once looked like and the sounds t
