Chapter 051|Make a dash for the doorHer heartbeat echoed against her own ear as she just stirred in his arms, a sheen of sweat on both their musky body but none of them was quite ready to lose the body heat. She was boneless, speechless, her legs still shaking as a result of how he had gone down on her there repeatedly, till she was begging him with tear-filled eyes to make the torturing pleasure end, to give her enough to tip her over. His arms were draped protectively around her waist and she couldn't help but grin humorlessly at the irony as her gaze fell on the calendar frame he keeps next to his bed which he made a habit of ticking off every night, the date not easing the pressure and somersaults of jumbling emotions and dangling knots she was trying so hard to cut before it roped her in, way too in.It was the 9th day and even as she came to the realization that what had transpired between them wasn't just fueled by lust or the crazy soft spot that was absurdly being carved in

Chapter 053|CowardSo she closed her eyes, her decision already made as she smiled at him and then brought her lips to meet his again, crumpling at his feet and allowing herself to feel just one more time because soon she will just have to do this assignment which means more to her than the others before and just as well. For her uncle. For the Native. For her.9th dayShe gulped under his heated gaze, her hands now playing with the spaghetti on her fork. They had ditched his ridiculously long dining room and had made a makeshift space right outside close to the swimming pool. The moon was out and was the only light illuminating their figures as she savoured Taiwo's culinary skill. Another thing she was just discovering and she didn't even want to stick around even more to explore. The problem wasn't just because she had to do the assignment fast because she had set for herself a deadline but also because with each day that passed, a layer of Taiwo is shredded and sh

Chapter 055|Checking if you are still a murderer?12th day"Jasmine!" It was the fourth time in a row she was spacing out on Chucks as he filled her out on details about the 'amazing' video game, he had programmed. Apart from the fact that she didn't speak nerd, she couldn't forget the argument she had with Taiwo and how she had stormed out of his house after his profession of love for her.Flashback.His expectant eyes were immediately filled with disappointment as he left her instantly like her body was hot coal, pain flashing in his eyes and a dark look following next. "Please don't be like this. We have something amazing going on between us." She found herself mumbling as he wore his clothes. His look at her was pointed and his stare cold. "Just once, please just once tell me I mean something more to you than some booty call. Someone to scratch an itch?" There was silence for some time and he closed his eyes then he was walking back in with quick strides, a cold look o

Chapter 057|Killing Taiwo"You shouldn't bother about Chucks or dwell on his words, Sir. He has been acting up for a while now and has been unusually cranky of late." She didn't say a word for a while. He turned to leave. "What do you think, Sir Kehinde? Do you also think he is right? Perhaps my association with the outside world have changed my perception way too much and by relation, me?" He turned to meet her gaze, a polite smile on his face. "Sir__" She held his hand. "Don't regard me as the leader of this outfit but the mere child you had told Young with a hushed whisper when I first arrived here he was so fucked for being handed a child yet you had helped in raising that child proving you're also fucked by extension. Tell me the truth. Do you think I have changed?" He gazed at her for a while then smiled reminiscing old memories and how it felt just like yesterday she had stepped into this house, scared, sad and feeling like a pale pastel coloured couch am

Chapter 059|You're late"Jasmine, you are making a terrible mistake, hope you know that?" She raised her brow at him, "Because I retreated when the assignment before me got too tasking?" "Fuck the assignment! You know, I know this has everything to do with that good looking oh smug proud Governor of yours, who was supposed to be just a mark!" She stood up, now ready to have a conversation with him since he had finally gotten his preamble done and was stating why he had come. "This is all you have dreamed of for years Jasmine," he said throwing his hand up in the air wildly. "To command respect from everybody here, to have men waiting just to hear your next words of instruction, to be one of the greatest leaders the Native has ever known? What happened to making Young proud and your grandfather? This is their legacy Jasmine and you are growing to throw it all away for a man, with his own fair share of demons and ruins?" "This was my dream because that was all I was al
