LILY’S POV After Scarlet dropped me off at home, I crawled into my room in fear. I took some of my pills and slept off only to be woken up by Caster later in the day. He had learned it was my birthday from Mrs. Miller and asked me to go downstairs with him. He brought out a birthday and told me to make a wish. I joyfully did, a part of me was also glad that at least two people knew it was my birthday and that made me wonder why Mrs. Miller didn’t tell Derek. As I cut through the cake, Derek walked in through the door, holding a wine bottle. LILY’S POV When I opened my eyes, I had to close them back because of the blinding light that penetrated them. I groaned as I tried lifting my hands to cover my eyes but something was holding it back. I turned my head sideways and finally opened my eyes. The first thing I saw was the back of a woman pouring some water into a cup. I blinked as I took in my surroundings, I looked down at my hand to see it was a syringe holding it back and that was when it all came back to me. “Lily dear, you’re awake,” Mrs. Miller was the woman I saw. LILY’S POV “Why do I feel like Derek is trying to change my mind about the divorce in a sneaky way?” Arianna stared at me and furrowed her eyebrows. Arianna was spending the weekend with us, courtesy of Mrs. Miller.
