Chapter 61: Running With The Wolves - Amelia
Lunch was actually great after that little debacle. Mum was her usual charming self and she and Marcus were quickly getting along. I can see dad already viewing Marcus as the son he never had. I don’t say that bitterly, I know my father has never for a moment wished he had a son, he loves me unconditionally. Marcus talked about his pack, his family and even his first shift. It was one of the best lunches I’ve ever had. I can only hope it goes smoothly when he meets my grandparents, or when I meet his parents. I fear his mother and I are going to clash like oil and water. After lunch, we make our way downstairs hand in hand and as cliché, as it sounds, I feel like I’m walking on air. “That went a lot better than I expected it to,” Marcus says. “If that was considered better I hate to think what you actually expected.” “More punches, that’s for sure. Your dad seemed to like me,” he beams proudly. “Dad definitely likes you,” I smile. “He liked the way you stood up for me and us, he

Chapter 62: The Body - Marcus
Ace is acting like the cat that got the cream since he and Zara mated – multiple times. “Hey! Do not call me a cat, that’s racist!” He shouts indignantly. “Calm down, Cujo, it was just an expression,” I say rolling my eyes. He gasps, “Now you’re calling me a rabid dog, the insults just keep coming.” Believe it or not, this is Ace in a good mood. Damn wolf is practically floating on air, and I know the feeling. Being connected to Amelia and Zara is incredible. I’m thrilled I get to talk to her wolf now and Ace can talk to Amelia. Naturally, his first topic of conversation with her was throwing me under the bus. My wolf is such an asshole. “Do not say it takes one to know one!” I exclaim cutting Ace off before he can speak. He’s quick to clamp his muzzle shut. Yeah, I know him too well. We’re returning to the packhouse when suddenly we feel panic radiating out of Amelia as Zara comes to a standstill. Ace nudges her shoulder letting out a whine of concern. Something has happened.

Chapter 63: Enemy Revealed - Amelia
I am greeted by Caleb as I enter the cells. He nods solemnly as I sign the logbook. As usual, news travels fast. “Gamma Tyson has the prisoner in interrogation room one,” he tells me. I nod and make my way down the hall until I get to the hallway that houses the interrogation rooms. I see Tatiana standing guard outside room one on the right-hand side. She gives me a quick nod and opens the door for me. I nod and step inside. It’s a small white square room with a reinforced titanium table in the middle that is bolted to the floor with a chair on either side facing each other, which are also bolted to the floor. There’s a two-way mirror that runs the length of the wall on the right-hand side. On the other side of the mirror is the observation room, but we won’t be needing that today. The only source of light in this room is a single lightbulb in the ceiling, which isn’t overly bright, but the white walls make it seem brighter. But with wolf eyesight, it could be pitch black and we’d se

Chapter 64: Feral - Marcus
Leaving Amelia didn’t feel right, it felt wrong as fuck. But I could feel that she needed to handle this without me, so I reluctantly gave her space. That doesn’t mean I’m not tuned into her emotions though. Never been more grateful for our bond than I am right now. Walking into the packhouse the atmosphere is desolate. There are pack members scattered around consoling each other; some are angry, some are sobbing; just a mix of emotions that I completely understand. Losing a pack member is never easy. Packs are tight-knit; it’s how we thrive and survive. A wolf needs a pack, so losing a member of our pack hits us all hard. I didn’t know the guy, but his death has affected even me. I feel angry that someone could do that to him. Just thinking of how painful his death must have been has me grinding my molars together. Looking around at all the despondent faces cuts right through me. I want… no, I need to help these people. I can’t explain it, but I feel protective of them. “Really? Y

Chapter 65: Distractions - Marcus
“What happened?” Asks Elias quickly, I can hear the panic in his voice. “She’s bleeding!” Her mother gasps rushing over to try and take her out of my arms. I tighten my grip and can’t and don’t bother to stop the growl that erupts from me. No one and I mean fucking no one, is taking her out of my arms. Her mother steps back in surprise, but she’s not afraid, which isn’t shocking. “It’s not her blood,” I state firmly. “She was interrogating your Beta’s son,” I say looking at Elias. “I guess she got the answers she needed because when I went in she was beating him half to death. But after the state your dead warrior was left in, I can’t say the little fucker didn’t have it coming,” I deadpan, defending my animai – just in case they disapprove of her actions. I won’t say they didn’t shock the fucking shit out of me, but I don’t disapprove. As Alpha, these are the kind of things that fall on your shoulders. She hasn’t done anything wrong, at least not by supernatural standards. Humans m

Chapter 66: Consoling Her - Marcus
I help her into the tub and step in behind her. I grab her loofa and I take my time washing her body, being gentle with my movements.I just realise my woman gave me a killer fucking blowjob while she was covered in blood like the mastermind behind a massacre, and if I’m being honest there was a part of me that was more turned on for it. Maybe that’s sick, but what the fuck ever.“Amelia?” I call her name, getting her attention.“Hmm?” She hums.“You don’t have to tell me, but I wanted to ask what happened in the cells.” Her body stiffens and I feel her become nervous. Hold up, nervous? She’s nervous? Somehow nervous and Amelia just don’t go together. “Baby, listen to me. I’m not disgusted or scared of what I saw, I’m just worried about you. What I felt coming from you… I can’t describe it. I just want to understand,” I say while pulling her against me. I grab a washcloth and gingerly clean the blood off her beautiful face. She sighs relaxing into my touch. “I never wanted you to see

Chapter 67: A New Outlook - Amelia
It felt nice to just let it all out knowing Marcus was there to comfort me. I didn’t realise how much I’d needed that in my life; how much I’d needed him. Marcus is kind, loving, patient, and protective and he loves me. Experiencing him like this makes it hard to believe he was ever the man who tried to put me down for being an Alpha, but I’ll just blame his mum for that. After I got out my tears we got dressed and I filled my parents and grandparents in on everything I learned from Ryker. I’m glad Marcus came in and stopped me before I killed the little turd. I don’t want him dead; I want him to suffer for everything he’s done. He fucked with the wrong Alpha and soon his uncle is going to learn that too. He wants me, he can fucking come and get me. I went to check on Kylie who was in one of the guest rooms, and the sight of her broke my heart. She was pale, her eyes looked sunken, and she was wailing hysterically. No words of comfort or touch of affection could console her, and I di

Chapter 68: Arrival Of The Delegation pt 1 - Marcus
I’m officially not a fan of the Delegation. Amelia and I spent the entire night making love, with maybe some fucking thrown in and we’d probably still be at it if it weren’t for the fact she knew we needed to get up and greet the Delegation, so yeah, they’re officially on my shit list. We’re now standing on the steps of the packhouse waiting to meet our distinguished guests. I’m nervous as fuck, which isn’t so bad since it means Amelia has kept a tight grip on my hand the whole time to calm me down. Vitali, Tyson, and Chris are also radiating nerves, though Vitali, more than anyone else. I can’t deny standing here with them feels right, but at the same time, it makes me miss Jasper, Calix, and Aiden. I’ve known them my whole life, can I just give them up? But then again I can’t give up Amelia, that’s not even an option. Everyone is dressed to impress – no more than my woman though. Amelia has her sunshine hair up in a low bun that sits on the back of her neck allowing her to showca

Chapter 69: Arrival Of The Delegation pt 2 - Amelia
I would love nothing more than to sit and catch up with these women – I can’t tell you how good it is to see them again – but they are here for a reason and after yesterday’s events, I can’t afford to get side-tracked.I lead everyone through the packhouse, down a hall to the right and through a set of double tan wood doors. We step through into the conference room, which is a large room with grey carpeting, a large, circular reinforced mahogany table, with top of the line black ergonomic chairs. The walls are lined with deep caramel wood panelling with various art pieces on the walls and a large screen at the far end of the room for sharing media files. We file in and I take my seat at the far end of the table facing the direction of the door while Chris closes and locks the doors. Marcus takes a seat on my right with Vitali sitting to his right, followed by Tyson and Chris, while Yildiz and Nuray sit to my left. I already have a folder in front of my seat waiting for me.“Fifty buck

Chapter 70: Arrival Of The Delegation pt 3 - Amelia
Hundreds of innocent humans, turned and enslaved by a sadistic, power-hungry, psychopath and all for what? Because my dad didn’t agree with breaking the law? How many more people have to suffer? How are we supposed to fight off an army that size? I know it’s kill or be killed, but these are innocent people. I can’t just kill them; they didn’t ask for this. The pack he took over didn’t ask for this. Marcus and I make eye contact and just stare at each other. I find myself tracing the contours of his face, the ridge of his nose, the thickness of his beard. Every detail is now more precious to me because now I fear I’m going to lose them. I squeeze his hand and he gives me an encouraging smile. “So, we have a pack that has changed leadership and did not inform us, they also changed their name, both of which thereby makes them an unsanctioned pack now, and we have a dictator Alpha who has broken the law by potentially turning hundreds upon hundreds of humans into a mutolupus. I would de
