Chapter 61: Running With The Wolves - Amelia

Lunch was actually great after that little debacle. Mum was her usual charming self and she and Marcus were quickly getting along. I can see dad already viewing Marcus as the son he never had. I don’t say that bitterly, I know my father has never for a moment wished he had a son, he loves me unconditionally. Marcus talked about his pack, his family and even his first shift. It was one of the best lunches I’ve ever had. I can only hope it goes smoothly when he meets my grandparents, or when I meet his parents. I fear his mother and I are going to clash like oil and water.

After lunch, we make our way downstairs hand in hand and as cliché, as it sounds, I feel like I’m walking on air.

“That went a lot better than I expected it to,” Marcus says.

“If that was considered better I hate to think what you actually expected.”

“More punches, that’s for sure. Your dad seemed to like me,” he beams proudly.
