Chapter Fifty-One (Isla)
I was having a quiet, relaxing day; After eating breakfast, tidying up and showering, I finally had a chance to read some of the book. I had found in the secret library and I was confident it was the proof Anders was looking for. Hope had soared through me at the thought of actually being free and not having to hide who I was anymore. I was a little worried that the Elders would not believe the information, but I’d cross that bridge when I came to it. I had just hidden the book away for safekeeping when some asshole broke down Anders’s door, a tall scrawny man with scars covering his face and long black hair marched in, evil evident in his gaze. "Who the hell are you?" I yelled at the intruder, readying myself for a fight. “So, this is where he is hiding you.” He sneered as he walked into the room, followed by six large men. I backed up. I had no weapons to defend myself and although I could fight, I was outnumbered. Mentally checking that I still had my illusion, I positioned mysel

Chapter Fifty-Two (Anders)
The four of us bolted up the stairs as another scream echoed throughout the castle. We ran towards my tower, stopping in the middle of the hallway, speechless. Zeeb was dragging Isla out of the tower by her waist with a bloody sword in his hand and her hand was… missing, the bracelet I had made was lying on the floor behind her along with her severed hand, from what I could see of the open door broken furniture debris and blood was everywhere. I looked at her face as tears lined her cheeks as she struggled against Zeeb to be freed. I could tell she had put up a fight by the chaos i could see and the state of Zeebs men. Anger surged through me as I moved and stood in front of them. “What the fuck are you doing?” I yelled at him. “She’s under my protection. Let her go!” “Not anymore! You found nothing saying she isn’t a threat, and we agreed to execute her. You are going back on your word, Alpha!” he asked, ready to fight. Two large men I hadn’t met stood beside him. Zeeb removed the sword from my neck. I could feel the blood slide down my chest as the blade was removed. He forced me to walk with him down the hallway. Turning to his henchmen and the witch Faye, he ordered, "Get out of here. I can't have you blowing my cover." They nodded and left, seeming to melt into the shadows of the castle. Zeeb dragged me out of the castle. “Where are you taking me?” I bit out roughly, still struggling against his hold. “I told you I’m your executioner. Always have been. Every time you're reborn, I find you and kill you or have one of my fallen kill you. The immortal scythe has been really handy since I stole it a thousand years ago. The witches were quick to blame the pack for the crime.” “Fallen? Immortal scythe? That belongs to the Shadow Moon Pack. They were the ones who kept killing me.” "Fallen is what I call the Shadow Moon Pack. Anyway, all my attempts have failed. You picked up on the poison my guard brought you, it's a shame it's so hard to mak

Chapter Fifty- Four (Anders)
I looked around my destroyed Livingroom and kitchen. Blood and debris were scattered everywhere, along with one of Zeebs men dead on the floor. I felt proud that she had killed him. Even outnumbered, she could put up a fight. Still, I should've been here to protect her. Two men lay unconscious on the floor, it was a mistake for Zeeb to leave them behind. I mind linked with Shaw, "There are two men unconscious in my quarters. Send two trusted guards to retrieve them and take them to the dungeon." "Right away." What was my next move? I had to come up with something. There had to be something? I knelt and tied the men's hands together so they couldn't wake up and escape. Ashina spoke in my head, “Zeeb is responsible for the guard trying to poison her. He is Alpha Kylen’s dad. If you have an ace in your sleeve, now is the time to use it. He is planning to execute her now. One of my friends has set out to contact a witch to free you. I will try to stall. Good luck.” My mind struggled

Handing me the cloth, she nodded and left. "I am going to make sure Zeebs death is slow and painful," I bit out as I carefully removed what was remaining of her burned clothes and cleaned her skin of the soot and blood that covered it, after I was finished, I covered her with a light blanket and drew the curtains that hung around the bed closed to give her privacy in case we had visitors. No sooner had the curtains closed than my brothers burst into the room looking around wild-eyed. “Where is she? Is she ok?” I nodded, “You know as well as I that she’d have to be rendered to ash before she would be considered dead. She’s regenerating but hasn’t woken up.” Alec handed me the book that I had left outside as him, and Thane moved to sit down. Absent- mindedly, I sat down on the chair that I had moved beside the bed and flipped through the pages and came across one page that drew my attention. A picture Of Isla’s birthmark was drawn inside. Curious, I read, (this mark is the mark of the

Chapter Fifty-Six (Isla)
Alec and Thane walked ahead of us as we headed to the dining hall. “Are you sure about bringing me?” I questioned, remembering how divided the pack had been earlier in the courtyard. Half wanted me dead and the other, well, I’m not exactly sure what they wanted. I wasn’t sure if I was up for dealing with a bunch of bitchy wolves. “I promise no one will hurt you.” He answered, holding my hand, “or they’ll have to deal with me.” He finished in barely a whisper. The dining hall overflowed with wolves as Anders led me to his table at the head of the room. Alec and Thane had already sat down. I hate being stared at. I thought as eyes turned to look at me, different variations of emotions lining their faces. Some looked welcoming. Others did not, especially the young females of the pack. After I sat down, I looked at the room and the paintings on the walls, not wanting to meet the gazes I could feel piercing my body. The room was huge, with benches and tables everywhere. People sat and

Flabbergasted, I stared as I processed the fact that the Moon Goddess stood before me in my own hall. The battles and arguments stopped as she looked around the room, looks of bewilderment and fear on their faces. Eyeing the book still in Hemmings hand, she walked over to his table and asked, “May I?” in a musical but powerful voice. He nodded, "Og course Goddess," he replied and handed it to her. Looking at the book, she frowned and held it to show the crowd. “I had sent visions to Elder Zeeb, as well as a few others, to create these books over a thousand years ago. He was told to inform the packs of the intents of the hybrids and to give them information about my daughter. I gave her that birthmark so she wouldn’t be misidentified.” She gestured towards me. “So, she would be protected as she fulfilled her duties.” She shook her head, disappointed. "Instead, Elder Zeeb buried the information, killing the other wolves I had tasked with this, and plotted to kill her incarnations and

"Thank you." I muttered as I looked at my now fully healed hand. As she disappeared, I was disappointed I had so many questions. If I knew how to control my magic, I would, but I haven’t been able to unlock it and the few times I could use it aside from masking my appearance, I could count on one hand. Now I find out that I need to figure it out alone. Why hadn’t she told me of her plan? Let me in on the fact that I was her daughter and a part of this prophecy. My father had mentioned it once when I was little, as a bedtime story, but this is the first time I've heard of someone taking it as more than a story. I have so many questions and no answers. Where do I find Una and Murdina? How long do we have before we are destroyed? Why is Zeeb so important when he’s already been sentenced to death? “She’s hotter than I expected?” Alec noted a grin on his face. Anders scowled. “Really? You want to joke now? Did nothing she say sink in?” “Yes, it did, and I think a comedic relief is need

As we rushed back to the castle, anger bubbled uncontrollably. Whoever let that traitor out was going to have a slow and painful death. Luckily, I had cameras everywhere. Not even the Elders and their minions knew where they all were. I made sure there were some that only I knew about. Reaching the tree we had left our clothes at, we shifted and quickly dressed, rushing back. Isla was looking behind her, worried, probably thinking that the sicko was waiting somewhere to finish what he started. I growled, looking around for him, too. I stopped and looked at her. “He won’t get to you again. I promise.” “I know.” She nodded as she walked in front of me, heading back inside. I walked her back to our temporary room. As I was about to leave, she hesitated and grabbed my arm. I looked at her. “You’ll be fine.” Rolling her eyes, she retorted, “I’m not worried about me. I’m worried about you. He has an immortal scythe, and we don’t know where it is hidden. He could kill you.” “I won’t le

Chapter Sixty (Isla)
I had the feeling that Ashina wanted to talk to me alone, so after looking at Anders, I got up and followed Ashina from the office. She was quiet on the way to the kitchen. She headed to the cupboards and gathered cups and plates as an omega brought a pot of coffee over and grabbed snacks from the fridge, placing it on a tray. My stomach grumbled. I never did eat anything at supper, so grabbing an apple from the tray and bit into it as I pulled myself up to sit on the counter. "Thank you. You may leave," Ashina told the omega. The omega nodded and left. After looking around, making sure the room was empty, Ashina turned to me. "Why do you look so serious?" I asked, taking another bite of my apple as her frown deepened. She sighed. “First off, I was wondering how you were doing with all of this. It’s not everyday you find out you're related to a goddess. I, for one, am quite shocked.” I nodded. “I was more than a little surprised. My wolf knew everything, yet told me nothing. There
