She had not been there at the street when I had entered gone there looking for her. I vaguely remembered going through the whole ball hall to try and find her before walking out in the street. She had been nowhere. What was going on?“Lara?!” whispered in a low tone, hoping that she had not gotten in trouble with me.My heart could not stop thumping hard. The anxiety was making me have a panic attack. My throat dry, mind filled with all the bad, terrifying things that could have happened or will be done to me or Lara.Who had abducted me? It was not easy to gain entry in Alessio’s pack. And with the alpha meet event, the security had been a tight one. No one could gain entry or go out without proper solid check. How had it been so easy for someone to abduct me? And how in the hell did I fall for the same fucking trap again?!I always believe people so easily. I always make the same mistake of caring about others even though the gut feeling inside me tells me to do otherwise. What can

Harry’s face turned stern and he stilled. His jaw clenched tight, “I have told you a million times. Do Not call me that!”“What? Harrieta?” the grumbling, playful voice was of a man who was sauntering over to us with a very wide smile on his face. His hair was a bit ruffled, dark. Green eyes. Soft facial features but a sharp jawline. Lean, tall frame. He looked like a typical good boy next door with an edge to him. He grabbed Harry by slinging his arm over Harry’s neck, and grumbled happily, “Aw, but you are the only one for me to have fun with when no one is around, baby. Of course you are my Harrieta.”“Seth!” Harry snapped.Within a second, Seth had twisted Harry by his neck, and thrown him on the ground. Hard. The snap of his knees hitting against the concrete floor was loud and deafening. I could not even imagine the amount of pain that Harry would have gotten.“You don’t raise your voice at me, Harrieta. You know that, right?” Seth’s green eyes burnt with a maddening look as h

My head throbbed in tension and pain while the terrified feeling in my whole body made me shudder. The room started to leave goosebumps on my skin as the coldness of the wall increased with each passing second. Worry for Lara’s safety was eating me alive from inside. All I could think about was what must be happening to her right now? Would she be okay? Is she hurt? In pain? What if Seth does what he told me? I could not stay here tied up like this! Lara had done everything from me! She did not even know who this bastard is! I could not let her be in danger. I kept on twisting the ties on my wrists until I could hear the sound of each drop of my blood falling down on the ground bit by bit. I had been screaming for hours for guards. I did not know what excuse I was going to use, but I only needed one of them to com

Alessio’s POVFor a few moments, my mind went blank. All the commotion faded in a deafening silence and the bad thoughts rushed in. The past flashing in front of my eyes became my new reality, and the same things happening to Mia with her being helpless and no way to find a way out sent shudders down my spine. I closed my eyes tightly to block everything that was trying to swallow me like a black hole. I could not think about all of that right now. Mia…I opened my eyes again, my eyes turned blue as my wolf rushed to the surface. The only thing that stopped it from fully taking control and rushing to find Mia was the sight of fire all around and the little bit of sense of responsibility that I had left inside me to save all these people. The sounds came back and the silence faded slowly. The visions of past blurred and fire took place in my eyes. People were still screaming, shouting, murmuring. I looked at Daniel, “Find a way out. Call the territory guards.”“You don’t need to pret

Mia‘Misha…?’ I croaked through the heavy slumber.Again, there was nothing but silence.‘Please, Misha.’ I whispered.Disappointment and anger were filling me now. I could not move at all. My helplessness was perhaps showing even on my face as I fought to stay conscious even through the pain that was engulfing me completely. If only I could come in contact with Misha, I could shift, fight my way out, or at least, get better faster with my wolf healing powers. I could also try to mind link with Alessio. But like every other damn time, Misha had betrayed me when I needed her the most. But it was probably not her fault. She must be suppressed by these assholes already so I don’t fight back.Plan A was to wake Misha up by putting my own life at risk. Failed. Just got injured badly. When lives were threatened, our wolves usually come out to protect the human form as wolf form is stronger. But there was no sign of Misha until the very moment I fell unconscious.Plan B, try to get in touch

Harry looked like he did not want to, but then seeing the ‘no- negotiation’ look on Seth’ face, he turned around and walked out of the room.Seth walked up to me, his eyes going from my bandage-wrapped forehead to my severely swollen face which had a huge tape stamped on the one side of my cheek, my neck, down to my arms, wrists, and legs which were also in the same condition. Not broken, but heavily injured and wrapped in bandages to stop the bleeding.“Harry did a good job on you, it seems.” he smirked, laughing a little as he sat down on the chair next to my bed, “oh Mia… when are you going to learn?”“Learn what?” I croaked out, even though it hurt my throat and my face like shards of glass were digging inside my skin.“That anyone in this clan or anyone outside of it can break you into tiny little pieces and throw your body to the dogs without blinking twice.”“Are you worried about me?” I mocked.Seth smiled, “Of course. Don’t you see me crying tears of blood here, my sweet sist

The Next Day…My body hurt in places that I did not even know could hurt. There was nothing but agony filling my whole being as I washed hundreds of scattered dishes that were thrown in front of me to clean after breakfast.I had not healed at all. My body was still wrapped up in bandages and some wounds were still leaking a bit of blood. My face and neck were severely swollen, and I had become unrecognisable. Seth did what he had said while accepting what I was desperately hoping for.I was out of the dungeon, out of the hospital room confinement, but Seth made sure to inject me with a scent hiding potion, and a potion that entirely made me ugly and an old age woman instead of myself so that even though I lived here, no one would recognize me as Mia. There were about ten men in his clan. All of them were strong, buffed up people with dangerous looks in their eyes. Scars covered them, and they were just letting Seth take the lead because Seth was smarter and more ruthless than them.

Alessio“I can’t risk getting wrong info about this, you know that, right, Jacob?” I questioned the bounty hunter in front me.Jacob cocked his to the side, raising his brow, “When have I ever disappointed you?”I thought about it for a second. The number came to zero. That is exactly why I had chosen him to trace Mia. “This is about my mate.” I replied quietly, taking the tablet from his hand to scroll through while keeping my eyes locked with his yellow ones, “I can absolutely not risk any wrong information for this case. If anything goes wrong, I am gonna have your neck on the table before I burn everything to the ground.”Even though I trusted Jacob because not only he was smart, young, and almost as fast as me when it came to fighting and hiding his traces, it was hard for me to put Mia’s life into someone else’s hands. “I am aware of that.” Jacob straightened, his serious gaze transfixed on me, “I already double checked everything, you don’t need to worry.”***“Come at me.” J

MiaWhen the dust settled down, I saw Daniel standing right there, his gun in his hand and it was smoking.Thank… you… God.It might seem terrible that I was thanking the good Lord that someone got shot but if divine retribution came in the form of Daniel and his silver revolver, I was not going to quibble. Before I could react, or look around to see where Alessio was, I heard from behind me in a voice I did not recognize.“Step away from the girl, and get down on your knees.”It wasn’t Alessio. It was a man with yellow eyes, holding a gun directly to Seth’s temple.Wow.“Take him back, Jacob.” Daniel said and Seth and yellow eyes moved back several steps.Daniel came forward, gun pointed at the man on the floor who was rolling around, hands holding his thigh, blood seeping between his fingers.I stared in horror. I wasn’t really good with blood and there seemed to be a lot of it.“Is he still alive?” I asked in a trembling voice. The man that Seth had abused, he was still alive!Dani

Alessio drove us home in his car.He was silent.I was silent.I was feeling a good deal of relief. There was the distinct possibility that my life was going to go back to normal. I’d never been a fan of normal, in fact, I avoided it at all costs, but now it sounded really good to me.I kind of wanted to ask Alessio if it was truly all over but I could tell Alessio didn’t feel in the mood to talk. I could tell this because there were scary “not now” vibes bouncing around inside the car so I figured talking about this later would be better.Lara was in much better shape than me, thankfully. Since they did not have any use of her, they had just dumped her in a dungeon far away from the main house and gave her food every two days. I was pretty sure that it was not by choice though. Seth was overly cautious of not letting Alessio find him at any cost. Hiding Lara in a dungeon and leaving her there must have been the part of his plan because Lara is a warrior, much stronger and smarter tha
