“Here.” Renee slipped a 20 dollar bill in my hand sneakily while looking all around to make sure no one was staring at us. I was putting my things in the locker so I threw the bill along with other things in the locker as well while hiding my face with the locker door. “Did you find out?” she asked. “You bet.” I smirked, whispering in a low voice, “he always takes red pasta on his plate. That is his favourite dish for sure.” “...and?” “You only get what you paid for. Now shoo yourself before anybody sees us. Others are waiting.” She grumbled a little under her breath but went away. Another girl took her place, slipping a bill in my hand, “What time does he wake up and come down in the hall?” “Don’t tell me you are about to sneak into his room.” I clutched the bill tight in my hand, alert. “Obviously not! I don’t have a death wish! I want to see him in the morning just once in my life. Whenever I come down for breakfast, Alpha is never there.” My shoulders slumped with a small s

Alessio “Don’t leave out the space behind the bed,” My voice rang from the other side of the room, making Mia’s hand still and take a deep, controlled breath. I don’t think she knew that I could hear her when she started to curse me under her breath for the fourth time in an hour, ‘Do this. Do that. Don’t do it so slow. Do it faster. The whole freaking time he doesn’t seem to have any other thing to do than to order me around. Even when he is now sitting at a table reading a book like some busybody, he can see what he thinks I am doing wrong like there are eyes on his dumb forehead.’ I clutched the book in my hand tighter, rubbing my lips with my fingers to hide the smile that almost broke out on my lips. But she continued her cursing through gritted teeth under her breath, ‘If he had not been a much better living being than Alpha Wyatt, and more powerful, I would have murdered him the very next day as well.’ What the fuck? She had also become still suddenly, staring into space

Mia “I need this, please, Mia!” Julia begged with puppy dog eyes, “this is the first time I am asking for something. It is just a small thing for you, isn’t it?” I breathed heavily to shake off the nervousness. I always had a hard time telling people ‘no’. Why in the world had I gotten stuck now? “Alright, I will try to find out what type of hairstyle he prefers on girls and tell you tomorrow.” I gave in, and started to walk away, “I have to go back now, Lara is waiting for me outside the school to go back home.” Julia nodded excitedly, finally leaving my almost bruised arm. By the time I came home, my bones were aching from being tired. Our school projects had increased. Even though I had started to get a hang of the classes, it was still hard for me to understand some things, especially maths. Thankfully Lara, and some other students were generous enough to offer me help so that I could at least be right behind them. After changing, I went toward the kitchen only to earn the

‘...I guess I have been going easy on you, haven’t I?’ - the words kept on ringing inside my head like a damn record over and over and over and over again. I was already freaked out of my mind and constantly on my toes, making sure to not make another mistake. His words were like a sword hanging over my neck, keeping me at my absolute best behaviour. I had to stop my ‘info exchange business’ too which made me cry a little from inside. My small stash of cash just remained small sadly. “Mia?” The manly voice had startled me, snatching me out of my thoughts. I saw Mr. Alex walking in from the main door of the pack house toward me. My fingers tightened on the pot that I was holding in my hands. Is he going to scold me again for not shifting that day? “Are you busy?” he asked politely, looking at the pot in my hands. I was silent for a brief moment. It would be rude to say ‘yes’, wouldn’t it? “No,” I stretched my lips in a smile, showing him that I will come back after placing the p

“I had informed Alpha all about the May Day festival,” Nia whispered from the corner of her mouth, “he had mentioned that he will attend it but you really need to rush to his room now to help him.” I looked outside the kitchen window. Blue, pink hue had already covered the sky as the evening approached and the sun went down. Everyone was ready and excited for the May Day Event. I went to Alpha’s room, walked inside through the open door and closed it behind me. Alpha Alessio was already dressed up, to my surprise. “Alpha? Do you need any help?” I asked out of courtesy. He turned to face me. He was wearing casual clothes surprisingly. A black high collar t shirt with its sleeves scrunched up at his forearms, black jeans, a navy blue jacket on his arm that I suppose he was planning to wear over the t shirt. The dark colour was complimenting his skin and the hairstyle. Looking at him dressed like this, it was no wonder that so many girls could not stop talking about him. His gaze roa

A smile appeared on my lips as he placed the tiara carefully on my head, my heart almost stopping as I felt his touch on my ears. He moved closer to me, his head tilting slightly as he stared at me with a look of wonder on his face. I felt my own cheeks heat up, feeling slightly embarrassed as I stared at his lips, unable to look away. He brought his hand up and gently caressed my cheek, causing my heart to flutter and my breath to hitch in my throat. He slowly brought his other hand up, the one that was holding the tiara, and gently caressed my cheek as well, sending shivers down my spine. I felt a warmness inside me that I had never felt before for anyone. He brought me a tiara to make sure I don’t feel bad for not getting picked for the moon goddess image. I knew he had not found it lying around. It was impossible with the crowd that was surrounding us. My gaze went to his hands that lowered again on his sides, noticing a few small dots of blood appearing on his skin, most probab

Liam’s eyes slid from the top of my head to the sandals I wore and then back up to come rest on the things in my hands. His jaw clenched tight, his gaze slid up to meet mine. He did not say anything, but his anger was apparent with the way he stared at me. Alssio stayed beside me, his body stiff. The joyful look and aura had long disappeared replaced with unpleasant expressions. “Come with me.” Liam extended his hand in my direction, palm open. Alessio’s already stiff body went stock still. He turned his face in my direction, his face set in disapproval. “Mia?” Liam’s voice snatched my attention again. As I looked at him, the anger in his gaze had gotten mixed with a look of desperation, “I know you are upset. But for the sake of our years long friendship, can’t you give me a chance to even have a chat with you?” Alessio was still staring at me. He was quiet but I could literally see in his eyes that he did not want me to go. But when I looked at Liam, I could see the pain in his

I could feel eyes on me when I walked to school. Boys kept on turning around to look at me when I walked past them. A while later it had almost turned spooky. With my hands clenched on my arms, I hastily walked inside the classroom to take a seat. Thankfully, I had started to understand the subjects and topics so the classes became easier. Maths was still hard, but at least I was not lagging behind too much. As the class almost came to an end, the teacher announced, “There will be a group project now. Four people in each group. You need to create a creative model of our ongoing chapter.” The teacher started to pair up people according to students in each row. When it was my turn to stand up to form a group, I turned kind of shaky, worrying if anyone would even want to pair up with me or not as I was perhaps the weakest student in the classroom. “Mia’s group. If you want to be paired up with her, please raise your hands.” Unexpectedly several hands lifted up in the air, all of th

Another guard had rushed to stand next to Liam. Both of them grabbed Liam’s arms to drag him away. I could see the look of determination and hatred set in Liam’s eyes for Alessio. I knew he was about to do something disastrous. From what I had heard so far, one thing was clear that he already had a plan to throw Alessio off his seat. I was not sure how he was going to do that, but there was nothing impossible when there is a will. He took down a monster like Alpha Wyatt. He could take down Alessio as well. Should I tell Alessio about what Liam was about to do? As someone Liam had put a blind faith in, the guilt of betrayal would crush me. How can you betray your friend that you have known your whole life for someone that you only saw a few weeks ago? How can you let go of a relationship that you have been tied to your whole life for someone else who does not even care about you? I was in conflict. On one side it was Liam, on the other it was something that I should do for the sake

With a thudding heart, I paced back and forth in the corridor. I was scared. Terrified, in fact. I could not stop thinking about what Liam had said. I knew he was about to do something disastrous. He was going to harm Alessio. And I did not want him to harm Alessio, not because he was my ex-mate and my feelings for him still kept on rising, but because I genuinely thought he had not done something to deserve getting killed. Behind those snide remarks, smirks, taunts and comments, he did not take advantage of our weakness. He did snatch the alpha position from us after coming here, but his power was enough to kick us out of the pack immediately. After all, who would want to keep the traitors in the pack? No alpha would ever let a constant danger live in his pack, but Alessio gave us a second chance. Hell, he even let Liam keep his beta position. I did not want Alessio to get hurt. I also did not want Liam to get hurt but his mindset is already fixed and is not going to change, no matt
