Chapter Forty-One
“Is this a good idea? To go traipsing into the forest and see if we can find the mysterious hidden land that the council took away from you?” Echo asked as he helped me pack a small bag with a few survival items. We could spend most of our time in wolf forms but still, we’d have a need for a fire potentially. “No, I'm not sure it’s a good idea. But it’s the only idea we have right now. I’m not sure what else to do.” I admitted with a shrug as I double-checked the pack before turning back to him and crossing my arms. “Well then let's go running through the forest shall we.” Echo shrugged as he tossed me the pack and pushed me towards the door. I chuckled and walked towards the front porch where the others were waiting. Since we were still worried about the pack potentially being attacked we were taking precautions. Magnus was going to stay back to recuperate from his wound. I healed what I could but there was a lot of internal damage I could not heal. He needed the time to heal so

Chapter Forty-Two
I woke up with a jot as I felt someone stand over me, laughing as I startled Echo. He rolled his eyes and pulled me into a headlock as he tried to give me a wet willy. I growled and twisted his nipple, the two of us rolling around one another as we tried to gain the upper hand. I gasped and then laughed as he grunted, groaned, and curled into the fetal position, his hands cupping his junk. I rolled to my feet and toed his side, shaking him gently. “You ok there honey?” I asked with a small laugh. He looked up at me and glared but laughed out loud with the realization we did that while butt naked. I laughed with him and quickly pulled my clothes on, shaking my head at our antics. “Well, that was an interesting morning show.” Einar commented with a deep laugh as he stoked the fire to light it. I snickered and sat by the fire, putting my bare feet close to help them warm up. “The two of you are close, yes?” “We are. I’ve known him since I was eight, and ten years may not seem like a

Chapter Forty-Three
I stand in the cavernous room, looking around in awe and a small part of me feels like I’m intruding on someone else’s home. While I have this overwhelming sense that I’m where I’m supposed to be, there’s a small nagging that’s telling me to leave. Like there’s a sense of magic pressing on me and trying to wrestle its way into the decision making part of my brain. My dragon wants to leave while the wolf part of me wants to tip her head back and howl out her elation. I move towards the front of the space, where the chair is sitting on top of the platform, tracing the worn wood with my fingers, a shiver skating down my spine and goosebumps erupting on my skin. The chair holds weight in the way old important items often do. Decisions were made in this chair for the betterment of the pack, and I had this compulsion to sit in it. A compulsion that would not be ignored. The moment I sat down, my wolf gave out a mournful howl at how right it felt. This chair was a part of my birthright, thi

“Hello, Darling.” I shivered as I felt the kisses placed on the back of my neck, Magnus’s scent enveloping me as he chuckled. I turned in his hold and buried my face in his chest, lifting my face to kiss along his neck. “You’re here. Did you remove the spell?” I asked curiously, tilting my head back to see his face, growing softly when I noticed the dark circles under his eyes and the tired lines around his face. He even felt drained and tired. “It took more effort than I expected.” He said as he sighed and ran a hand over his face. “It was a strong spell and I managed to remove it. It also isn’t as far from the main pack grounds now, it was the spell that distorted distance and perception of its placement. It’s not a day's journey. It’s just a few hours at a good pace.” “Gods. I’m sorry it took so much out of you Magnus.” I whispered as I gave him a soft kiss, trying to soothe the turmoil I felt from our bond. He shook his head and tucked some hair behind my ear. “Don’t be sor

Chapter Forty-Five
The night of the feast passed in a blur of activity. Everyone was happy and there was plenty of mead and food and it was the best possible attitude among the people. Silas came with some of his wolves and it was nice to see them have a nice time, both packs combined. I was annoyed to see that Sydney came and the only reason I didn’t demand she leave was because Silas had asked beforehand if she could attend. She was hoping to find her mate among Einar and Stienn’s wolves. She had no luck but that didn’t stop her from throwing herself at Einar. He was polite and humoured her till she tried to touch him, by then he let her down softly. After that she moved on to Stienn who just growled at her till she moved away in embarrassment. It made me laugh at how obviously she struck out. It was nice to know that people could see her for what she was. I spent the night mostly with Magnus and Kane while we ate and cuddled in close. I had missed them so much and it was nice to just be with them. I

Over the next few weeks, we settled into a routine. My days were filled with pack business and my evenings were spent with either Stienn or Einar as they taught me the old pack legends so I could pass them on to the pack. And my evenings were spent holed up in my room with my mates after a nightly phone conversation with Blaze. We were intimately familiar with one another now, with no hesitation or shyness on my part to be with them both. Being with them both is just as effortless and comfortable as being with one of them. It was easy and comfortable and I felt secure in the fact that the pack was finally settled. There was no end date for Einar and Steinn's visit and the pack liked having them around to share stories, I think it helped a lot of us original Ravenfield members connect with our origins and roots. For the first time in a long time, the pack and its grounds were at peace. It all came to an end a week before Halloween in the form of a blood-red envelope sealed with gold wa

I stood back and watched as the border guard went back to their posts and Echo and Ezra led the two wolves away with Marco and Andrea right behind them. I was confident that they could handle guarding them while they cleaned up and ate. I turned to Einar, Stienn Magnus and Kane with a small frown.“What packs still lead the old fashioned way where women are nothing other than breeding stock?” I asked with an annoyed huff. The way really old packs treated women was disgusting and I abhorred it. I would stand for no such thing in my pack and if the two of them wished to stay they would be expected to adjust to the way we did things here.“I was under the impression that all packs had to adhere to the new order. As in all gender stereotypes and biases had to be let go of. As far as I know, no packs still lead that way. At least they shouldn't and if this pack does then they have done a really good job of staying under the radar.” Kane said with a small scoff.“There are packs that lead li

“Nor do you. She is a person and no one has a right to place any claim on her. She has no mate mark, nor do you so she is her own person. We do not put up with archaic ways of thinking in this pack.” I said, my wolf wanting to snarl and put this ridiculous man in his place.“She is mine. I own her fair and square and there’s nothing you can do about it.” He snarled as he stood, trying to intimidate us as we remained seated. Stienn and Ezra growled at him in warning as Kane stiffened beside me,his teeth bared in a snarl.“Sit down and shut up! You will not say another word until I am finished speaking with the girl. That is an order.” I commanded him as I laced it with a heavy dose of Alpha command. He wasn’t nearly strong enough to fight it so immediately he was forced to sit back down and shut his mouth. Satisfied that he couldn’t do anything, I turned to the woman and tried to soothe her. “Please don’t be afraid. I mean you no harm if you have no ill will towards my pack. Now please

“Please tell me one of you locked the door?” I panted as they both kissed and nipped along my neck.“I did. I don’t want any interruptions while we have our way with you.” Kane insisted as he gently pulled my hoodie up and over my head.“Thank Gods. I’d really hate to stop right when things are starting to heat up.” I shivered and gripped Magnus’s shoulders as Kane nipped the nape of my neck, my hips grinding into Magnus.Kane moved behind me so he was kneeling on the floor between Magnus’s legs. With the way we were positioned we were all at the perfect angle. If only we were already naked. I was about to shift so I just pull off my pants when Magnus Tightened his grip and me and Kane extended his laws, moving them up the seam of my jeans and cutting me out of the material. I shivered and moaned softly as his claws grazed my skin hard enough to raise red welts but it was the best kind of sting. When my jeans were successfully cut off of me, he then grabbed my thong and ripped it off,

“Cadmus.” I whispered as his arms tightened around me, his nose skimming along the curve of my neck.“I missed you Dear One. Did you miss me?” He asked as he placed a chaste kiss on my cheek. I moved out of his arms and turned to face him, taking in his appearance. His hair was a tad longer than when I saw him last, he had more scruff to his jaw as well. His jeans were old and worn with use and sat low on his hips. He was just as handsome as ever but there was something about his eyes that made me hesitate. They were darker, swimming with more emotion, something deeper than I had seen from him before.“Is that all you have to say to me, Cadmus? Asking me if I missed you when you owe me answers.” I scoff and shake my head, crossing my arms over my chest in annoyance.“Why would I owe you answers? What is it you think I’ve done?” I glared at him and shook my head.“You lied to me multiple times when it came to the black wolves. Pretended like you had no idea who he was. All the while kno
