CHAPTER 11

I locked the door before taking off my clothes. Then I turned on the shower. My exhausted body was soothed and my senses were relaxed by the hot shower. I splurged on the shower gel because I considered it a luxury item after becoming a rogue. I washed my entire body while my mind wandered toward my baby. Was she alright? I wanted to see her very badly, and hopefully, in the following days, Dale would allow me to go out.“Oh my God!” I exclaimed in surprise upon seeing a man inside the room after getting out of the bathroom. He looked flustered and displeased at the same time! I clearly saw him clenching his jaw while looking at me.His eyes widened as soon as he realized that I was only wearing a towel. I tried to cover my nakedness with my hands but they were not enough to cover everything! He averted his gaze before yelling at me, and his booming voice was deafening. However, I was not afraid. “What on earth do you think you’re doing?” I raised my voice at him but he simply arche

CHAPTER 12

Bethany’s POVWhen he insisted that I worked for him instead of Dale, I just stared at Jacob Summers. Yes, he looked great but his disposition was not great at all! At that moment, I wished I didn’t have a one night stand with him in the past!“Are you going to throw me out on the street?” I inquired but at the same time, I wanted to attack his morality. However, I couldn’t do it, so I just pursed my lips and waited for his response. “It doesn’t concern me at all,” he finally said. “I heard you earlier. You argued with my beta as if he was your equal, wench. You are nothing but a rogue and a maid in this house!”As soon as I figured out he was damn serious, I immediately knelt before him. "I will do everything you ask of me; just let me stay here for the time being." I needed to earn a great amount for my daughter, and I couldn’t risk losing my lifeline! I was positive that a month or two would help in improving my finances.“Everything?” He asked in a more menacing tone.I knew he w

CHAPTER 13

I was relieved to be alone when he left after eating his breakfast. There would be no more scowls and glares. Without him, the house was quiet, and I was reminded of my home, my parents, and everyone else in the pack, especially my friends. I have been missing them but I couldn’t go back until my father would take me back home. Inwardly, I wished that Dale would come back home as soon as possible because he was easier to deal with than Jacob Summers.I was so preoccupied with my thoughts that I didn’t notice time flew too past. Blue skies turned into the hues of orange and red when I looked out the window. Then, I smiled while imagining myself with a lover watching the sunset. When I turned around, I gasped in surprise upon seeing Jacob standing nearby.“Take this,” he said as he handed a paper bag.I furrowed my brows when I took it, but when I checked the content, I wondered what it was. So I asked him. Instead of giving me an answer, he just dismissed me with a single flip of his h

CHAPTER 14

No matter how much I tried to stop thinking about it, I couldn’t. It kept on flashing back into my mind, and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t get it out of my head. An expletive curse escaped from my mouth while scolding myself. Jacob Summers may possess the most beautiful body in the entire universe but he was a walking red flag. Therefore, I should be careful around him. While lying in my bed, I wished I have some friends with whom I could be completely honest. Then, I forced myself to sleep, but a loud sigh escaped from my lips when I closed my eyes. However, I recalled that I should set the alarm clock first.I tossed and turned on my bed because sleep remained elusive after several attempts. I decided to get up, opened the drapes of the windows and looked outside. The night was dark, and there was no sign of the moon showing up in the sky anytime soon. However, while it was a dark night, the number of stars twinkling above was a beautiful thing to watch. I have been st

CHAPTER 15

When I heard him mention my father’s name, I gaped in shock! It was scary to think that he might know my father. Still, I couldn’t ask him for further details and decided to lie. “No, I don’t know anyone by the name of Roger Middleton. Why do you ask?” “Never mind, Miss Beautiful. Hmmm nice to meet you, Bethany,” he said, and then he winked at me before leaving. “Oh, by the way, I think you will like the cake that my mother baked earlier. Please wait here.” My gaze followed him as he entered his house, and I waited for him to emerge with the cake he had promised to give me. Even from a distance, I could tell it was freshly baked and delicious. When he handed it to me, I said, "Thank you." "Don't forget to share it with your family," Pedro said before returning to his unit, and I felt like a schoolgirl having a crush on him. I was overjoyed as I shut the door and began eating the cake Pedro had given me. When Jacob came home, I was on my second slice, and he had a scowl on his face

CHAPTER 16

Several hours have passed since we got home from the hospital, and I kept on glaring at Jacob. He knew he was allergic to the chocolate cake, but he went on eating the entire damn thing just to make me feel guilty. I couldn’t read what was inside his head, but I could tell there were a lot of nasty things inside it. What happened to him? Every single day, he became worse, and as time passed by, the memory with him during that night, when he used to be gentle and kind to me, faded slowly.Late in the afternoon, Pedro came by and he invited me for a coffee break. He said there was a small coffee shop about two blocks away from our homes. I agreed, but I had to return to the house to change my outfit. A few minutes later, I was ready to go, but I found Jacob leisurely lounging in the living room, and as soon as he saw me, he immediately frowned.“Where do you think you’re going?” He inquired.“Pedro invited me for a coffee break,” I replied.“Did you ask for my permission to go out?”“I

CHAPTER 17

I was terrified when I recognized the lust in his eyes so I stormed past him as fast as I could. He called my name several times but I had no plan of acknowledging it. I went straight to my room and stayed there for the time being.Later on, I had no choice but to get out of the room in order to cook his dinner. Fortunately, he was nowhere in the house, and I was relieved. I was able to prepare his food in a timely manner, and once I was done, I decided to eat ahead of him. Then, I returned to my room. Seeing him so worked up whenever I was around has terrified me. He was the kind of a man that I should avoid at all costs, and I should have known better before flirting with him that night. Well, it already happened and I could no longer change it, however, I didn’t want to have another intimate encounter with the man. Lately, he has been trying my patience, and the more he would irritate me, the more I noticed him.If only Dale would come back home as soon as possible, then maybe, I w

CHAPTER 18

Jacob made the decision to be rude to me, and I was baffled as to why he felt it necessary to go to such great lengths to aggravate me. Since he treated me in all honesty as his slave, I had no right to complain. I didn't question it; I just obeyed his order and went with the flow.I did the cleaning while Jacob ate his meal, and by the time I was done, it was almost time for me to start preparing his supper. Despite the fact that I was completely spent, I couldn't suppress the excitement that I felt. He promised I could have a day off, and I planned to spend it with my daughter. One evening, my insatiable appetite for knowledge won out, and I made up my mind to investigate the location where Jacob kept his mistresses. Because the glass door was left open, I was able to hear the women in the room perfectly as they discussed various beauty tips and techniques. Suddenly, one of the girls got to her feet and made preparations to leave. Her peers cheered for her as though she were competi

CHAPTER 19

I was reading a book in the living room when he came in. The following day, he approached me again as if nothing had happened earlier in the kitchen. I assumed he was going on a date because he was dressed casually. Nevertheless, his love life or sex life was none of my business! I waited for him to walk towards the door but he stopped and stood in front of me.“I am done with the cooking and cleaning,” I told him defensively in case he planned to scold me for not doing my job."Let's go shopping," he suggested, and I stared at him in disbelief.“We?” I asked but then I realized that he may need an assistant to carry his shopping bags later. I was about to ask something else, such as the time we had to leave, and our destination, when his expression suddenly changed."Are you deaf?”“Jacob, you didn't have to insult me. I was only asking because I wasn’t sure why you have to take me shopping,” I reasoned out."Go change your clothes," he said."I'm not in the mood to leave the house

CHAPTER 20

When I heard his command to massage my legs, I immediately narrowed my eyes at him. He also glared, and he didn’t like my defiance. I wanted to suggest he could call for home service from a professional masseuse, but the thought of another woman touching him didn’t sit well with me.I wasn't sure why I became obedient when he ordered me to massage his legs; perhaps I just felt bad for him, or I was slowly attracted to him. On the other hand, he was obviously tired, so I figured it was the least I could do. I massaged him for thirty minutes, pressing his muscles at all times. All I could hear were his groans. Was he even moaning? I wasn't sure, but one thing was certain: he was pleased with my services. He had no idea my father used to ask me to massage his tired legs after a long day of meeting with his council."Are you feeling better now?" Before I stopped doing it, I asked him."Yes, please go on,” he told me.I continued to massage his legs but after thirty minutes, I drained all
