Ch. 30 - Tyra Pt. 4
Tyra's Point of ViewPresent DayCassandra undid her seat belt, reached over to undo my belt, and drew me into her arms. I could feel my tears threatening to fall but didn't want to go inside with mascara running down my face. Such vanity, I inwardly laughed. She was so loving towards me. "She is, was, a human, babe, and you know the rules. Unfortunately, we don’t get to break them just because we have family who are humans," she said, gently kissing me on her forehead.I knew all of that, but it didn't make it feel any better. I tried to smile, but Cassandra knew me too well. Even though she didn’t have humans in her family, she understood how hard it was. What would I do without her, without her love and devotion? It was what kept me grounded when I had to pull away from my family and friends. There's a bond between werewolves that humans couldn't appreciate or understand."It's different now. Aláine will be one of us soon and our Luna too. She will feel the mating bond and underst

Ch. 31 - Trying To Put It Right
Kristof's Point of View Tyra and Cassandra had now left after a good dinner. It was great seeing Tyra putting away a sadness that had been present since she joined our pack. Now that I knew the reason for it, I was pondering what changes I could make so that it didn't happen again. I needed to sit down with Noah and discuss it. There's no time like the present is how the quote went, so I figured that I would start a discussion now while the idea was fresh. Aláine had gone off to have another shower. She immensely enjoyed having showers here because there were so many hot water cylinders. Hence, there was no worry about running out of water. I was thinking about joining her and treating her to a wash. It was something all werewolves like to do to their mates. It was a massive part of the bonding process. My jeans were getting a bit tighter just thinking about it. Damn! I needed to get those thoughts out of my system and remember why I was not up there already in the shower with he

Ch. 32 - Security Concerns
Kristof's Point of View After Tyra and Cassandra had left, I noticed that Aláine seemed more relaxed than she had initially been and certainly a lot happier than when we met. The following morning I talked to Aláine about how she had felt when Cassandra disappeared and the loss she had felt because of it. I had never thought about what it would be like for families left behind when werewolves mated with humans. After my brainstorming session last night, I resolved to talk to other members in my pack who had initially been human to see how they felt about it and whether they wanted to see their non-werewolf families again. Of course, I couldn't just change the rules because I was Alpha, as there was the safety of the whole pack to consider and getting the elders to agree. However, I was sure that if it was the will of the pack and could be done safely, and my father consented to change the royal decree, then the rules could be changed. As we took Axel for his daily walk around the

Ch. 33 - Exploring The Packhouse
Aláine's Point of View As the others left to go to Kristof's office, I picked up a tea towel to help Frederic with the dishes. "No, Luna, I have this," he said. "Forget it; I'm helping," I overrode him and gave him one of my determined looks. "Yes, Luna," he replied with a smile. I can be bossy when I want. Frederic washed, I dried, and Zara put them away. With a group high five, Frederic went off to the security room to help Kieran with the cameras and fence system, muttering something about skinning him if he touches Callie. Zara and I went to explore the house before going outside with Axel. The packhouse was an immense multi-levelled mansion surrounded by forest. At the front was a circled driveway leading to the front door. The main entrance was like a foyer with a door on each side and stairs leading both upstairs and down. The left door led to a spacious living area where a large flat-screen TV was attached to the wall. Some of them liked to play games because there was

Ch. 34 - Viktor's Rage Pt. 1
Viktor's Point of View Two Days Ago "Damn those fucking werewolves!" I screamed. "I was this close to taking the human away from the bloody wolf-born Alpha. I wanted to get to her before he turned her. He doesn't deserve a woman like that. Wolf-born are all the same. They think they can do whatever they want, but I'll show them." "Indeed, Viktor," replied Olivier. Olivier always let me rant when I was angry and never seemed to get upset. I was glad I turned him. He made an excellent advisor. Even though I wasn't actually an Alpha, I still saw myself as one. After all, I had already killed one wolf-born Alpha and wouldn't stop until I killed them all. Olivier would be my Beta. As for turning him, those wolf-borns and their stupid laws about not turning werewolves unless they were fated mates. Since when did I listen to wolf-born rules and regulations? I would create my own and become a ruler over all the humans I turned into werewolves. I need to think of some celebration or ritu

Ch. 35 - A Plan To Entrap
Kristof's Point of View Straight after breakfast Noah, Michel, Callie and I sat around the meeting table in my office. It was a massive room on the ground floor, which could easily hold 50 or more people if they were standing. At the moment, we were busy discussing how to find and trap the werewolves that attacked Aláine. "What if you take her out on another date to try and lure them out?" suggested Michel. "We should be able to identify them and possibly take them out, especially if there are only a few of them." "I don't like the idea of putting her in danger. She is to be our Luna, after all," said Noah. "I agree," I said, "especially as she is still human at this stage. The next full moon is in another week." I was not inclined to put my mate and the pack's Luna in any sort of danger. She was far too precious. The love I was starting to feel for her made me want to protect her. "Alpha," interrupted Callie, "What if we were to have matching dresses and use matching vehicles?

Ch. 36 - Second Date Pt. 1
Aláine's Point of View Later that afternoon, I was sitting reading. Zara was off with Noah, and Kristof had been out on business. I wondered what I would be doing once I was a werewolf and Luna. Was I going to be spending a lot of time sitting doing nothing, or would I have some form of work that kept me occupied and fulfilled? Would I have to give up work? "Aláine! Where are you?" called Kristof. I came running. "Is everything all right?" I asked. Kristof smiled in his seductive way and crooked his index finger. I walked right up to him, smiling back at him, "You called?" Kristof grabbed me and sunk his nose into my neck, breathing in my natural scent. He said I smell of sweet blossoms. It was a sweet scent that only I, his mate had. His was the smell of grass after the rain. I had looked on the internet to find out that the scent was called petrichor. What a nerd I was. "Follow me," he said as he led me upstairs to the bedroom. Was he going to try and seduce me again? I loo

Ch. 37 - Opposing Plan
Olivier's Point of View I was getting so sick of Viktor now, with his crazy rants. When I first met him, I knew he had been through hell, but I never thought he'd be this bad. When you were a rogue with no pack, there were not a lot of choices, so for better or worse, I had thrown my lot in with him. I was not sure who turned me, six months ago, but when I had my first change into being a werewolf, Viktor found me and helped me cope with it all. Now, Viktor had declared himself Alpha and made me his Beta. We had to do some weird blood ceremony to bind us. He said our pack was to be made up of human-turned-werewolves only. No wolf-born were allowed, fated mates or not. I could see where he was coming from. Every wolf-born we had come across was as arrogant as Viktor had told us they would be. While we were reconning a pack to see if we could take out their Alpha, we came across a human who was to become this Alpha's mate. Viktor had become obsessed with this human. Admittedly,

Ch. 38 - Second Date Pt. 2
Kristof's Point of View Aláine and I arrived at the restaurant and drove into a secure car park. It was obviously exclusive, and there were guards at the entrance. I liked this place because the owner, Rickard, was a werewolf from one of the neighbouring packs, who was part of my father's kingdom. The same one that owned the nightclub where I met Aláine. I knew him personally because he had trained Frederic. His pack was very city-oriented, which was strange because most werewolves prefer to live away from humans as my pack did. We had our own reasonable town on privately-owned land with many businesses and even a couple of schools. Our pack was thriving, with only a few having to deal with humans. When we entered, many of the upmarket customers were staring at us. There were a lot of humans here, but I noticed some werewolves, a fae and even a vampire. There was undoubtedly a mix of patrons. Some of the men were leering at Aláine, and it took a lot of my self-control to keep wal

Ch. 39 - Outsmarted Pt. 1
Kristof's Point of ViewI could see Callie and Noah belted into the upside-down car. Noah appeared to be moving, probably trying to get out, and it was hard to see if Callie was okay. Given that Noah wasn't raging, Callie was probably fine. The two men were beside the car looking in through the broken windows. Aláine pointed to the man standing by Callie. He looked pissed off, but so was I. As we stopped the car, I noticed that the man Aláine pointed to had seen the real Aláine. The bastard was smiling, and it was sending me into a rage."Stay here!" I yelled to Aláine as I got out of the car.I stood facing one of the strange men while he circled, looking for a way to attack me. The man was as Aláine had described him. This was the man who tried to abduct her. He had put his filthy hands on her. I could feel my anger rising, but I needed to stay in control. I needed to protect Aláine."Well, I finally meet you Wolf-born," he said grinning, "and I see you brought your mate."He sniff
