Chapter 71: Just Drive--Demi--It’s been four days since Gavin forced his way into mine and Ryder’s apartment. I have been on edge ever since. Why would he need or want to do that. He said he wanted to speak to me about something, but then he started saying things that were very disturbing. At one point he even stated that I wasn’t Ryder’s. What was wrong with him? At first, I thought maybe I was the one who was being the crazy one. Maybe I should have just let him say what he wanted to say. Maybe then he would have just left, but my instincts told me to do the opposite of that. My instincts told me to run. A Keres never runs from anything… other than the gods who command us. We do their bidding, no matter what it could be. When the gods created keres, at first it was to aid them in war and for other tasks that they themselves were too busy to do. It didn’t take long for the sick minded gods to take advantage of the fact that a keres had to follow through with their commands. They sta

Chapter 73: Never too High--Demi--It’s the middle of the night and we are finally pulling through the gates of the Harmony Moon pack. I felt a heaviness in my chest and my heart squeezed remembering what happened the last time we were here. I need to forget about that. We have moved past it. Ares hasn’t made contact with me since Ryder has been home and I am hoping Zeus has made sure the harassment has stopped. The last time I spoke to Ares was when I visited Olympus to meet Selene and Typhon and I decided that day that I would never return. Zeus would have to kill me. I will never go back. But what if Ares has made contact with me in the form of someone else?I felt his hand on mine as he reached down finding mine clutching his stomach. He gently squeezed, almost like he felt my emotions thick in the air. I took a deep breath and looked up to meet his gaze as he briefly looked back towards me. His eyes, those eyes. The ones that tell me that everything is going to be okay. The pass

Chapter 75: SuspicionsRyderI decided to take Demi to a spot my grandfather once showed me a long time ago. It’s one of his and my grandmother’s favorite places to escape to, and only they, my parents, and I know about it. Demi held my hand as we both flew over the packlands and into a dense forest. We let our wings dissolve and followed a unkept trail through the thick brush and trees. I breath the fresh air that offered the calming scent of earth and rain. My Lycan hummed within me. My dragon hated it, as its impossible to fly through. We walked through the forest for about ten minutes before the trees and vegetation thinned enough to allow us to see where exactly I was taking Demi. I heard her breath catch in her throat as she first laid eyes on the setting around us.We were standing in what looked to be a low spot on the mountain side. Trees and beautiful vegetation surrounded us. The thick canopy of trees above us caused the time of day to feel like it was around dusk though it

Chapter 77: A New QueenNarratorAres growled, but he didn’t take his eyes off the display in front of him. His obsessive eyes couldn’t turn away as he watched them make love until the sun lowered below the mountains. His chest was heaving, and his eyes were bulging. His nostrils flared, and he clenched his teeth. Gripping the bowl on both sides he lifted it and tossed it across the room. He turned to the king. “Looks like I no longer need you, do I?”The king stepped back, raising both hands to beg. “Ares, I… I’ve done everything you asked of me. Please let me stay to care for my peop-”Ares grabbed him by his neck and squeezed. He lifted the king off the ground, taking all his frustrations out on the innocent fae. King Kyro kicked and choaked. He pulled and scratched at Ares’s hand as he was lifted up into the air. Fighting against the god of war was a losing battle, all he could do was beg. A fae’s power compared to a god’s is equal to a whisper in the wind.

Chapter 79: Been WaitingDemi No words come to mind that could help me describe the scene playing out before me. That’s Beta Tanner. I can tell by the distinct features of his wolf form. He’s a loved and adored member of the Harmony Moon pack. Ares has given up his disguise of Gavin and is finally showing his real face. He has Tanner pinned down, his foot crushing the massive wolf’s neck as he struggles to breath. His wolf form kicking and bending, desperate to get loose from Ares’ grip. It’s no use. He’s not strong enough. I can tell he has fought against the God hard. Many wolves would have perished way before now, but not this one. He will fight till the end and if I don’t do something, it’s sure to happen. Drake threw his arm out attempting to hold me back. I had forgotten that he had come here with me. “Demi, don’t. Let me!”Before I could protest, Drake’s body started to change. I have never seen his true demonic form before. He began to morph
