Chapter 50 - Places unknown.
Leah’s POV Seeing Sebastian handing out the toys to the children, convinced me that we needed to have a child. I wished we could take all the children home from the orphanage because I couldn’t begin to imagine taking just one of them and having to leave the others behind. What were they going to think after we leave them behind? I started to wonder if adopting was such a good idea and when I felt Sebastian’s arms circle around me, I breathed in his scent and felt my wolf calm down instantly.“What’s up, buttercup?” He sat down on the floor behind me as I pulled little Elana into my arms and handed her the blocks she’d been playing with.“I can’t do this.” I turned my head toward him and spoke softly.“Do what?” He frowned, smiling.“This,” I looked at the other children. “I can’t ima

Chapter 51 - Caught in a trap.
Eli’s POV I felt like killing Nathaniel when I heard the girl screaming next door. They unlocked the door just a couple of minutes ago. I could feel her fear, which was strange since she wasn’t a pack member and she wasn’t my mate. It had to have something to do with our blood connection. I couldn’t imagine them moving that tub I remembered into her room, and I knew that calling her over the radio wasn’t going to help if they were doing something to her. This was infuriating! I wondered if I would be able to break down the door if I shifted, but immediately pushed that idea to the back of my mind. I knew that Nathaniel would have prepared for my strength and I would probably not be able to break it down! Her screams slowly left her room and passed by my door and I shoved my pillow over my head to try and drown them out. There was no way I would ever be able to save her. Images of what happened to me when he made me

Chapter 52 - The past and the present.
Leah’s POV My heart was literally torn to pieces! I made a point of going to see the children as often as I could. I didn’t want a single one to think they weren’t loved. Which, of course, made me feel even worse about our decision to adopt just one child. Our way of life suddenly made absolutely no sense to me! We fought like animals over territory, and nobody thought about the poor children that were left behind. I pulled the journal from my shelf. Sebastian and Emily were out for two days to attend an alpha meeting, and to my surprise, it was made very clear that no Luna should attend. That, of course, made me worry. Why would they have a meeting where the Lunas of the pack shouldn’t be there? I sat down and opened the book to the next page.As I read previous Luna’s diary, I realized that she struggled with the same problem I did. She clearly knew that Sebastian was a hybrid and didn’t want a biolog

Chapter 53 - Old problems and new ones.
Eli’s POV I woke up to the door unlocking. The sound of the heavy lock in the steel door reminded me that there was no way in hell I was getting through there on my own. Even if I was in wolf form. Nathaniel sure knew his damn stuff. I hadn’t really tried my hybrid strength, but no creature I knew of would be able to get through there without a key. Besides, once I got out of here, I would have no idea of where to go. Knowing these vamps, we were probably on a different fucking continent! My thoughts were rudely interrupted when one of their electric prods hit me in the side. For a split second, I wondered if this was going to become a daily occurrence! Were they going to come in here once a day, stick me with their little sticks and drag me off to be poked and prodded until they finally brought me back? I couldn’t imagine surviving much of this for too long. Even supernatural creatures have their limits. The lights flas

Chapter 54 - Everybody's pregnant!
Leah’s POV “Yeah?” I frowned. I wasn’t entirely sure if Sebastian was smiling because he was in total shock or if he was actually happy. “Sebastian?” I watched him as he took a couple of steps and rubbed his chin. “Are you okay? Did you hear what I said? I’m pregnant.” I frowned, unsure if I might have broken him. He stood there looking at the floor for a couple of minutes and I felt my heart freezing over completely. I had to be ready for him to tell me to get rid of our baby. I mean, we did have an agreement that I wasn’t going to get pregnant …“Yeah, I’m okay. I’m happy!” He smiled. “And sad, and nervous and furious.” He frowned. “Leah, you know what this means, right?” He rushed over and pulled me into his arms and I nodded.“I’m so sorry, my lo

Chapter 55 - A baby ... We are having a baby!
Leah’s POV We were sitting in the exam room at the doctor’s and I felt my heart race! Sebastian suggested we visit the doctor under the circumstances and I was beginning to wonder if I was even pregnant. What if the home test gave me a false positive? Getting one was tough enough as it was without Carl seeing me buy it. If that damn thing gave me a false positive, I was going to lose my shit! I should have come to the doctor before telling Sebastian! I should have made one hundred percent sure I was pregnant before I told him!“Congratulations!” The doctor walked in smiling and I almost burst into tears after all the stress of waiting to find out! I still didn’t know if I was happy about the baby or not. I felt so incredibly emotional and overwhelmed! I had so many questions and nobody answered them for me. It was still too soon to see anything on the tests and I lay back as the doctor squirted the c

Chapter 56 - Bye, bye Nathaniel
Leah’s POV For some strange reason, the memory of Eli popped into my thoughts as Emily gushed about the baby. Back then it seemed as though that was all he wanted from me. A child. Then something strange started bugging me. Why wasn’t Eli’s mate with the elder and the warriors who came around here looking for them? The last time Eli disappeared she was the first to come looking for him …“Are you okay? Do you have morning sickness or anything?” Emily’s voice pierced my thoughts and I smiled, explaining that I actually felt really good. I didn’t have morning sickness or any of those things I heard women get during the first couple of months. I felt pretty normal. She looked more than a little jealous and laughed when she told me how incredibly sick she got from her first pregnancy and with her second one, she had the weirdest cravings, which had me pulling my nose just to think abou

Chapter 57 - Eli is back! Nathaniel is dead! WTF?!
Eli’s POV I reached the border of my territory and a last burst of energy rushed through my veins, but I was so damn tired! I hadn’t healed completely yet after what those bastards did to me and even with my hybrid status, it was tough to get this far. As soon as I crossed the border, my legs gave way under me and everything just went dark around me.I had no idea how long I had been passed out like that when I heard panicked voices around me and soon, I felt them lifting me up as I was carried further. I was so thirsty that my throat was actually burning, but I knew I couldn’t drink blood. I couldn’t do that to any of my people and, honestly, I wasn’t entirely sure if drinking werewolf blood was such a good idea. Since the venom in our bite could kill a vampire, I wasn’t entirely sure if it was in our blood, but then again, a vampire and a wolf lived inside my body and the one didn’t kill the oth

Chapter 58 - What next?!
Leah’s POV ‘Sebastian! Come quickly!’ I mind-linked him to meet me in the common room where I could only hope to find another news report about Nathaniel! Sebastian rushed in and the first thing my darling mate wanted to know was if the baby was okay. He was so damn precious! I explained what I heard on the news as I flipped through the channels, but Sebastian wasn’t convinced that it was Nathaniel. He didn’t believe that anyone was strong enough or clever enough to get away with it. He told me that he tried to get rid of Nathaniel once himself and the price he had to pay for betraying Nathaniel was something he would never tell anyone. It was so bad. I still couldn’t believe that Sebastian had gotten himself mixed up with Nathaniel in the first place! He must have been so desperate to prove his strength! He rushed out of the room while Emily helped me to find more news about Nathaniel. He was pretty

Chapter 59 - The final war - Part 1
Eli’s POVI waited until I was sure all my people were in the great hall before I walked in. As I took my place at the podium, I stood looking at all of them.“For years now, we’ve had to take whatever our neighbours dished our way. Alpha Sebastian even stole my mate and claimed her as his own when he found out that she was my destined mate.” I knew the stories had been circling around the pack so it wouldn’t be news to any of them to find out that Leah was mine! “Then, he sent someone to kill our Luna!” I could feel the anger building up in the room and I knew that last statement was going to be enough to get everyone on my side. Even the people who would normally vote against a war wouldn’t be able to do it this time, since our Luna was killed by Sebastian. I didn’t need proof of this. I knew they would believe me because of what I was about to tell them. “When I wouldn’t give him our entire territory, he had me kidnapped.” I pretended to be unable to look at them, but I was slowly
