Chapter 10 - Home or something like it.
Leah’s POVAfter our visit to the kitchens, I wanted to go up to my room to unpack, only to be reminded that I wouldn’t have a moment’s peace since I would be in Eli’s room and he would be there. The. Entire. Damn. Time. As we walked into the room, a young omega appeared and I remembered the girl from when I was still living in the orphanage. She smiled brightly and bowed her head as I walked past and I heard a hissing sound coming from across the passage right before the door slammed shut. I couldn’t stop the giggle that escaped as we walked into the room.Eli’s mate’s scent was thick in the air and I would bet my life that she had sprayed it over everything before she left the room. I pretended to cough profusely and the omega rushed to open the windows. I showed her what I wanted where and another problem came up. There wasn’t enough space in Eli’s closet for my clothes, his clothes, and that woman’s clothes! So, I just squinted my eyes at Eli, who very quickly got the hint and had

Chapter 11 - My own guards.
Sebastian’s POVI wasn’t pleased when Carl told me what he found in the omega part of the pack house, but he made me swear that I wouldn’t say anything about it. He had finally gotten to the point where he felt as if Leah trusted him, and the last thing we needed right now was for her to lose trust in him. We needed her to feel as if she had at least one ally on her side, even if he was from my pack. Emily told me that she thought they had become friends in the short time Leah was there, but Leah was an enigma. I don’t think anybody ever really knew what was going on in that woman’s mind. That was what intrigued me about her.“Alpha,” Our leader of the Elders frowned at me and I sighed.“Yes, yes. I know. I heard you the first time. I have to behave at this afternoon’s meeting.” Since the tournament was starting in Eli’s territory, the final elder’s meeting before the tournament was to take place here. This would be when they agree on the items they were going to put forward or, as I

Chapter 12 - The first day of the tournament
Leah’s POVOne woman was a little older than me and the other one was probably a couple of years younger. They didn’t speak until we got upstairs and Carl walked into Eli’s room with us. He was clearly not going to leave his post no matter who told him he had to. It was quickly made very clear by their growls that NO man would be allowed in my room and he rolled his eyes and left. Later that night, as I slipped underneath the covers, I had to admit that it was comforting to know they were standing at the edge of the bed keeping guard. I wondered if they would swap out with others during the next month, but I was so tired that my mind didn’t stay busy for long before I fell asleep. In the early hours of the morning, I was softly woken by the younger girl. I could smell fresh fruit, bacon, and my all-time favourite meal … Pancakes drenched in syrup! The older woman explained that I would be having breakfast here in the room in the mornings before each day started. It was all part of the

Chapter 13 - Talking can be good sometimes.
Leah’s POV Eli’s face turned brighter red than I had ever seen it before and I burst out laughing, which made him frown. “That wasn’t funny, Leah.” He sighed and wiped his mouth. “I thought it was.” I was still giggling a little when he stood up and held out his hand for me to take, but my two guards stepped forward in unison and his arm dropped back down to his side. “How are we supposed to get to know each other with them hanging around the entire time?” He sat back down looking slightly defeated, which kind of gave me hope! “Well, Eli, not everything revolves around pinning a woman down in bed.” He pretended to be disgusted at my comment, but I knew him better than that. “We talk. That is how we get to know each other, but I already know everything there is to know about you.” I sighed and was just about to get up when he reached over to grab my hand. A fierce arm gripped him in the process and he glared at the older woman who was glaring right back at him. “This is your last

Chapter 14 - Going home?
Leah’s POV This turned out to be more fun than I would ever admit. Watching two men basically fight over me wasn’t something I thought I would ever see. Watching two Alpha’s trying to outdo each other the entire time was hilarious! I wondered how the tournaments in the old days compared to this one. I could only guess that they had to move with the times as well. I felt better after talking to the ladies. Lighter almost. I still wanted Eli to pay for what he did to me, but I didn’t feel as petty as I did before. I needed to think about this more strategically. I had to think of it as a tournament of sorts. Make him think that I was falling for him and then rip his heart out when he least expected it. Make him feel the pain I did when he broke my heart. Where Sebastian was concerned, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do. Yes, he held me prisoner, but he never really did anything to harm me. In fact, the poor guy was actually just trying to help if you think about it. Besides, if I bro

Chapter 15 - What was and what might come.
Leah’s POV Unfortunately for her, she made it clear that she didn’t want to be friends with any of us. Not even my guards, and kept mostly to herself all through the morning. I decided that I had been understanding enough up to that point and if she wanted to play things this way, I would follow her lead. She soon found out that she wasn’t the one in charge of this entire situation in what was her territory, she would soon find out she was even less in charge than she thought here! Everybody had lunch together and it was kind of strange to sit at the head of the table with Eli to my left and Sebastian to my right. Thankfully, the elders joined us and it broke some of the tension, but the underlying tension remained. After lunch, everyone split up into their own groups and I was once again left in the care of my two guards. “I thought that went pretty well.” The young one commented, and the older woman burst out laughing. “If you thought that went well, you still have a lot to learn.

Chapter 16 - Defying orders.
Leah’s POV The early morning was more of the same. Two men tried to outdo each other, but in the afternoon, we had a lot more fun! Sebastian’s pack had arranged a fair and everyone got into the spirit of the tournament as we all took part in smaller versions of the games Eli and Sebastian challenged each other in. I had great fun competing against Emily and would have liked my guards to take part as well, but I was reminded that they were there to protect me and not play. It was nice to see Sebastian after a gruelling morning still taking the time to play with the children, which was something I didn’t see with Eli. That made me wonder what kind of father Eli would be. Was that perhaps the reason the moon goddess didn’t bless him and his mate with a child of their own? Did she think they wouldn’t be good parents? I realized that I didn’t need to look far. Being Alpha and Luna of a pack meant you always carried their best interests at heart. From the clear neglect of the Omegas at Eli

Chapter 17 - The final day and a visit to a castle.
Leah’s POV I was slowly starting to wonder if Sebastian wasn’t perhaps dangerous, but seeing him playing with the children, I had to laugh at the idea. Okay, so he was a werewolf alpha and all, but surely, he wouldn’t have killed his own mate, would he? I wondered how much the vampires had to do with her death and made up my mind that they were responsible. Sebastian didn’t seem like the kind of man that would hurt anyone he loved. What exactly was she doing with the vampires? How were they involved with Sebastian? “Hey, girl. Earth to Leah?” Emily’s laughing voice pierced my thoughts. “I hope that intense daydreaming has something to do with my brother.” She grinned and I didn’t want to disappoint her. After all. I was thinking about him, just not in the way Emily was probably hoping. I paid attention to the ridiculous games going on in front of me and rolled my eyes when Eli winked at me. Sebastian had won the games so far today, but it was clear that Eli had just won since he was

Chapter 18 - I choose you.
Leah’s POV Canines snapped as they circled each other, and I wondered how the two testosterone-filled wolves were going to fight without killing each other. Their history had proven that they had issues with each other long before I came along. A deep growl came from Eli right before he attacked and gasps echoed throughout the crowd as Sebastian moved out of the way just in time and snapped at Eli, just missing. I couldn’t look, but it was so incredible to see their self-control when it was clear that they really wanted to kill each other. I never really watched two wolves fighting like this and I was totally mesmerized. The next time Eli pounced, Sebastian was ready and Eli howled in pain as Sebastian’s teeth sank into Eli’s leg, and Sebastian won the first point.I noticed Eli’s mate sitting forward with her hand over her mouth and I really felt sorry for her. When I reject Eli, he is going to be in incredi

Chapter 19 - Falling for the Alpha.
Leah’s POV There was one tiny detail I didn’t take into account in my brilliant plan. Since I said that I accepted Sebastian as my mate, and not that I chose him, it changed everything. It meant we could mate! He could mark me and I would be bound to him for the rest of my life! I had practiced my speech so many times to make sure I used the correct term that I was thinking about the one I should say and then said it! I tried my best to focus on what was happening around us, but the night was fast growing to a close, which meant Sebastian and I would go up to his loft and, well, I wasn’t ready! We danced until nobody else was left, and I was beginning to wonder if Sebastian was also nervous, since he didn’t seem as if he wanted to go upstairs as well. He took my hand and as we walked into the foyer, he stopped. I frowned as he hesitated.“Would you like to go for a run?” He turned to loo
