The next morning happened, Nathaniel made a strange demand.“I want to pray with you, can I?” he asked, sounding uncertain if his wife would allow him or not.Not alone him but God also knew what kind of sinner he was. He saw his wife was loving but would God allow a sinner like him to enter His presence? He never knew the answer until Delilah smiled at him. “Of course, why not?” she said, coming closer to him. He stood there, nervous. His heart wasn't beating normally. For the first time in his life, he was going to pray. He never experienced it. Delilah gently held his hand and pulled him to the mattress. He followed her to the place where she usually sat alone. But today, they were going to be two. He sat beside her and mumbled, “But I don't know how to pray.” He shrugged, looking at his wife who was opening the Bible beside him.He peeked into the pages and saw she had opened the Gospel of John. He blinked at it. “I know,” she said, her voice very gentle. “First, relax,” she

“Grandpa,” said Nathaniel, his voice soft and alluring to Edgar's ears. The man looked up at the door and smiled. The caretaker also found Nathaniel and his wife at the door and moved to help Edgar in sitting. This time the old man didn't complain. He rather thanked the young man. “Nate,” Edgar said, raising an arm to call his grandson closer. The couple walked over to the old man and Nathaniel sat beside him. “How are you doing?” asked his grandson.“As you see,” Edgar shrugged. He then looked up at Delilah who stood behind Nathaniel and gestured to her to sit on the chair near him. She obeyed, smiling at him. He smiled back.Nathaniel nodded his head. “I wanted to tell you something,” he said, glancing at Delilah. The caretaker decided to leave the room, giving them a moment of privacy. “What is it?” Edgar asked, his gentle eyes set on his son. “We're expecting a baby,” Nathaniel was the one to reveal. Edgar blinked, surprised. A smile was spread on his lips. He looked at Del

Her eyes watered as she stared down at her husband. Blood, getting mixed with the dripping water, was flowing around him. His eyes were closed, eyelashes all wet by the rain and blood. Her heart squeezed inside her chest as she looked at him, tears flowing down her cheeks. The water falling from above drenched her, letting no trace of tears remain on her face. She covered her mouth, her eyes falling shut. She couldn't believe he was dead. He couldn't die; he couldn't leave her alone. How much she loved him, only to see the night of his demise? No, she never waited for it. How much she prayed for this man, not to see him like that. What could she even say to her God? She had no word of complaint but only sorrow that kept growing inside her chest like a deadly plant, poisoning her from inside. How could she bear the pain of being left alone by her very other half? Surely, she had God by her side, but what about the life she cherished so close to her heart? What about the promises

“Where's she?” asked Nathaniel, sitting upright. His eyes were emotionless, set over his man, Carlos. He stood there beside his bed, holding his hands before him, head bowed in respect and fear of Nathaniel, his master. After two days of unconsciousness and treatment that helped his head a bit, he gained consciousness, and the first question he asked was— about Delilah, his lovely wife.He couldn't forget that night when they were attacked and he fought as long as could. However, they won over the situation and left him to die there. However, as Delilah was constantly trying to call Carlos, the line was connected when a man attacked her. She couldn't talk but Carlos and the army got notified of everything and traced their location. However, they were quite late. They reached after they abducted Delilah and found Nathaniel badly wounded. They brought him to the hospital nearby and the doctor treated him urgently. It didn't take many hours and Carlos thought it better to shift the unco

3 MONTHS LATER She pressed on her toes, trying to reach the jar. Her arm stretched forth to get it but she failed, making her scowl. Then he came. His fresh scent met her senses, enveloping her from behind. He smelled of pine and neem, his musk was attractive. His warmth surrounded her when his chest pressed against her back, making her realize how close he stood. His arm rested beside her, grabbing the slab. With another arm, he grabbed the jar that was put inside the cabinet. His body pressed lightly against hers before he moved back, leaving the jar on the slab beside her hand. She took it, turning around. “Thank you,” she said, looking up at him as he stood tall right behind her. “How many times have I told you not to do such things, Del?” he scolded her lightly, putting both his arms on either side of her, leaning closer. His soft and cold breath fell on his face. He had just taken a shower and was now downstairs, yet his muscles exuded a warmth that could turn anyone blin
