Chapter 41
“What do you want her to say? You already said it all, have you not?” Jade spoke, and Chad looked taken aback. “I’m sorry but did I ask for your opinion?” He glared at Jade. “If I don’t ask you to speak, that means that I don’t want you to speak. Is that clear?” Jade did not reply, he only snorted a laugh. “That’s enough, Chad.” Sam finally joined the conversation. He stared at Jade’s stomach for a few seconds and then spoke what was going through his mind, “There should be a wound on your stomach.” He pointed out. Jade cleared his throat and wet his lips. I could tell that he was trying his best not to look at me or hint at me in any way possible. He just sat there and stared right back at Sam. “I’m talking to you, boy.” Sam’s voice was surprisingly calm and collected. He had a spark of annoyance in his eyes and I knew that he could snap at any moment. I know that I did not want to accept Sam as my father but the fact remained that he was. He was my biological father and I was

It was the next day and I groaned as my eyes fluttered open. A weird smell swirled in the air and my body ached from sleeping on the hard and cold floor. I sat up and yawned before looking at Jade. He was already awake and sweating because he was doing a bunch of pushups. He had not noticed yet that I was watching him and was focused on his movements. With each movement he made, my heart shook. His attractiveness was evident and his muscles were very defined. He was truly a sight to behold. I watched him until he finished his last rep of pushups. That was when he noticed me. He chuckled freely. “Lucia, I didn’t know you were awake. I hope that I was not the one that woke you up.” “Oh, no. I woke up on my own.” I flashed him a warm smile. “How many reps did you do?” I stood to my feet and started to do some stretches. From across our cell, I could see that my mom was still asleep. Seeing her sleeping on the cold floor of the cell broke my heart. Even though she had lied to me and

I stared at him adoringly. I had a small pain in my chest though. I did not like the fact that Jade did not feel too comfortable about asking me to heal his mother. That was something that I would have done for him in a heartbeat. He had helped me in so many ways that I did not deserve. If anyone deserved to be healed, it would be his mother. “I don’t get why you were nervous about asking me that, though. It makes me feel a bit sad. Do you not understand that I care for you?” The beating of my heart increased and I kept staring into his beautiful surreal green eyes. He chuckled lightly, a sound that I had grown to love. “No, no, I do understand that you care for me. Or at least I would like to believe that you care for me.” He continued to chuckle. “Well, Mr. Sanchez. Get it in your head. I care about you, okay?” He smiled warmly. “Okay, Mrs. Hill.” He laughed and I joined him. “As soon as I am done with helping Sam’s wife, if I can, our next stop would be at your house so I can

I led the way and my mom, and Jade was right behind me. Soon, we were in the dining area and our eyes fell on Sam and his wife. I know that he said that she had leukemia and that it was stage four but it was I was a bit doubtful because she did not look sick in the least. She looked pretty healthy to me. Her weight was good. Her skin was vibrant. She looked strong. But again, I did not know much about the illness. I sat on the other side of the dining table; Jade and my mom sat next to me. The table was already set and the food looked very tasty. As I stared at the food, my stomach made a loud sound, letting everyone know how hungry I was. Jade tried to hold in his laugh but he could not. He ended up laughing for a few seconds before calming himself down. As for my mom, she only smiled. She was not paying much attention to me but to Sam and his wife. “Thank you all for joining us for breakfast,” Sam began but before he could say another word, his wife stopped him. She scoffed rud

I did a double take and chuckled dryly. “Wait, what?”The beautiful lady continued to pace the room elegantly and slowly. Her entire attire was white, and a certain white glow emitted from her. She looked like an angel, but in reality, she was the Moon goddess. “You’re now ready, Lucia. You are now prepared. Everything you went through has led you to this exact moment. Your heart and soul are now stronger.” Her voice was velvety and it was like a beautiful siren. I scoffed lowly and then proceeded to sit on the floor. When I was comfortable, I asked, “Why do you think that I’m prepared?” She stopped pacing and sat on the floor too. “No, Lucia, I don’t think you’re prepared. I know you’re prepared. You were once this very fragile and scared little girl that was characterized by her illness.” “You were in a bubble that your parents placed you in for the sake of your protection. You wanted so badly to burst out of it but the truth was that you enjoyed your little bubble. Sure, you co

Sitting by a stream rushing by, the sound of birds singing echoed in the air as beams of the sun’s rays illuminated the surroundings. The air smelt sweet, it was coated with the scent of nature. “Now to answer those questions…” The Moon goddess began. “There are indeed limits to your gift of healing. You can not heal without my permission. There are certain people who are to remain sick a bit longer so that a greater work can be done in them,” She explained. “I don’t understand.” I shook my head slowly as I told her the truth. “And that’s okay. You don’t have to understand, Lucia. You just have to know this.”“So how do I know that you have permitted me to heal someone?” I brushed a few strands of my hair from on my face. “You would hear my voice as you have always.” She smiled warmly. “Another question you have lingering in your subconscious is that maybe you would wake up one day and lose the gift of healing.” “Okay?” “The answer is no. You won’t ever lose your gift of healing

Hunger gnawed at my stomach as I tried to find a way out of the vast forest. There were so many trees and I had no sense of direction. Eeir noises rang through the night and the cold was picking up with each minute. I was not barefooted, thank goodness. I was wearing the same sneakers that I and in when I got killed by Sam. I continued to walk forward but feared that I was not making any progress when it came to getting out of the forest. I needed help. But there was no one within miles that could help me. No one that I could imagine. Who would be out in that kind of place at a time like this? “Hey!” A voice sounded from behind me, causing me to almost have a heart attack as I jumped away. When I turned in the direction of the voice, I saw that it was a guy. He looked like he was middle-aged. He had a cap on his head and some weak wrinkles on his face. His voice was deep and in his hand was a torch. He then directed it at me, blinding me with light. “Who are you, and what are

The man was right. It was a long way back to the mansion. And if I was going to go back, bloody clothes were not something that I think was okay to wear; definitely not the best look. I looked into his eyes, they looked so innocent and young. “Sure. We have a deal.” I gave him a warm smile and he smiled back excitingly. It was clear that he genuinely wanted to help me. I had a feeling that maybe it was because of his daughter; that he missed her so much and saw helping me as helping her. “Great, let’s head in, shall we?” His voice was cheery. He opened the door of the cabin and led me inside. There were photographs hanging on the wall. Each one of them had the man and his daughter in them. He looked younger in the pictures and his daughter looked so much like him; almost like the female version. “Is that your daughter?” I asked as I followed him into the living room. The cabin was nice. It was not fancy but had a cozy feeling that made me feel at home instantly. The man glanced a

It was not easy and took some real convincing to finally get Billy to fully agree for me to accompany him to the pack of his daughter and love of his wife. We both did not know what we were going to expect but we were excited nevertheless. He later showed me the bathroom, which was very clean and even looked a bit fancy. I was impressed that this man lived in the middle of nowhere with literally no neighbors, and yet had a really nice place. But what did I know? I did not know much about people who liked to live secluded lives. And so far, what I have learned was that this man was independent, strong emotionally and physically, very wise, extremely kind, and also very clean. After taking a shower, I dried off and went to the room that I was shown. When I entered, I could not help but smile. The room was truly the representation of a girl my age. It was obviously the room of Billy’s daughter. It was so pretty and I was mentally taking notes so I could do my room just like that if I

“You can trust me. I know that we just met yesterday but I want you to know that I am on your side.” He paid attention to the road. “If you hurt someone in anger or rage, it’s perfectly fine. But you need to open up to me so I can help you.” I continued staring at him and then I finally spoke, “Thank you so much for caring and trying to help me. But you have nothing to worry about. I did not hurt anyone. The blood that was on my clothes was mine.” I was open and honest. His forehead furrowed in confusion. “But you weren’t hurt. I checked with you. There was no cut or wound on your body.” I took in a deep breath and then let it out slowly. “Billy, do you know that the Alpha and Luna of the Thunder pack only had one child; a daughter?” “I mean, sort of. I heard the rumors. Even though I live a bit distance away from the town, I do catch up on everything when I got to get my groceries and toiletries.” “So that means that you know that your king killed their only daughter, yes?” My v
