MaliyahIt has been about two months since the funeral and nothing has happened. School has resumed as normal and everyone acts as if the attacks never happened. I stopped receiving flowers or any threats of any kind. I highly doubt whoever this person is just gave up. Something is going to happen soon, I can feel it. Dad finally backed off some of my guard but not all of them. I still have two outside my door but at least I have privacy and none are stationed inside my apartment. I went from twelve guards to six so at least I can feel like I can breathe again. I head downstairs early to help the morning shift open. After Olivia, Oliver and I have breakfast we hop in my car and head to school. It’s been busy after the holidays and the basketball team has been on fire with winning every single game so far.

Maliyah It’s finally Friday, game day. Football players are in their jerseys and the cheerleaders are in their uniforms.  Classes won’t be so boring and we have a prep rally today after school. This is the last game before the big championship game and the boys are pretty cocky that they’ll win. Granted they are undefeated this year.“Maliyah! You ready!”“I’m coming!”I grab my car keys and meet the twins in the living room. They’re practicing some of our cheers and Oliver knocks over a vase causing it to shatter all over the floor.“Oops,” he chuckles and uses his powers to fix the vase, placing back in it’s original spot.“Handy with magic at your disposal,” I tease and we all giggle.“You ready for tonight?!”“I have a new outfit for tonight and I got candles for

Maliyah There are so many people here that I am not sure they all attend Palmetto High. Many are leaning against trees with beers in their hands and making out. I even catch sight of Olivia with her crush and they are making out as well. Luca gets us some sticks for our s’mores and puts marshmallows at the end. We talk about everything and nothing at the same time while we get our marshmallows to a golden brown. Luca grabs us plates of graham crackers and chocolate for us and I smash my marshmallow between the crackers, melting the chocolate. I take a bite and Luca laughs at me.“What is so funny?”“You have chocolate on your chin,” he says as he takes his thumb and gently wipes the chocolate away and licks it off his thumb. “Oh…umm..thank you,” I reply blushing.

Maliyah The weekend went by quickly and all weekend I had been annoyed and easily agitated. Luca never called to check on me once and this cast is driving me insane. Taking a shower is a pain and it itches all the time. ‘I’m sorry I am unable to heal it right now.’‘It’s not your fault Terra, it’s mine. We should’ve never snuck out to begin with. I’ll live, you just focus on healing yourself.”I finish getting ready since I have to go to school. My parents are amazing and quickly replaced my car. I now own a brand new white Ford Edge. It at least as a sunroof since I am not longer allowed to have a convertible. I tried to reason with parents as the possibility of me getting into another accident was slim to none, especially since the accident wasn’t even my fault to begin with, but they wouldn’t bite. At least I have car so I ca

Maliyah “Well, like I said my story isn’t a happy one either. I lived as a rogue since birth. My parents were always on the move, never settling down in one place. My childhood wasn’t all bad but everything changed the day we were captured by this warlock. I think his name was Thomas. My mother was a gifted wolf, she was like you with being able to connect with the earth and grow plants. We were kept prison with many other gifted and their families. All day, everyday we heard the screams and cries of those being tortured. When it went silent we knew the person had died. I knew it was only a matter of time before my mother was next so dad and I came up with a plan to save her.” “I’m sorry my uncle’s plans dragged your family into it.” “It’s not your fault Maliyah. There will always be evil in the world.” Luca waits to see if I have more to say before continuing. “The day we were ready to get her out of there she was picked to be next fo
