The building stood out looking magnificent, it was a skyscraper and she wondered how many floors it contained. Maybe 40 to 50 floors, she thought. She walked to go inside when she suddenly stiffened. Was she ready for this, she thought. She took a deep breath and moved forward, 'It was too late to turn back'. The door automatically opened for her and she entered into the office. She shivered, the air inside was much colder than outside. She quietly rubbed her palms as she walked up to the receptionist. 'Good afternoon, I need to see Mr. Axl ' she said politely. "Do you have an appointment with him" the receptionist asked. She was petite with a short brown hair and looked quite older than Cindy, maybe in her late 30's . "No I don't" she answered. "Am sorry Miss you can't see him" She explained without her eyes leaving the system in front of her. Cindy scowled, she already expected this and was ready for it. The information Rhe

When she got out of the office, she made a call to Rhea and said almost immediately, "Guess what? It actually worked" . "Wow, so he actually fell for you, that's so amazing Cindy" she rejoiced. "I told you it was going to work " she said proudly. "Where are you?" Rhea asked over the phone. " I just came out of the office and I want to book a ride to go home " she explained. "Alright, I will see you later, I will be home before you go to bed, I have some work to do" " Don't use work to cover up your sins Rhea, I know your with a guy, just please drive carefully and don't overwork the car" she pleaded. " You treat that car like your child, Cindy" she mocked. Cindy laughed at her friend's remark as she ended the call. A car drove and stopped right in front of her and the car windows opened to reveal the face of a man which she recognized as Mr. Axl. He beckoned on her to come forward and she moved closer to talk to him. " Where are you off to?

She got home at exactly 10:15pm, She stopped in the kitchen and opened the refrigerator, her favourite whiskey wasn't there so she opted for beer. She sat down at the kitchen table drinking beer while thinking deeply. "I didn't hear any car drive in" Rhea answered as she leaned on the rails of the stair case. She still wore the clothes she had on earlier today . " I walked" Cindy answered. " You did what?" She asked as she strolled to where Cindy was . "Not all the walking Rhea, he dropped me in front of the avenue, I just had to walk here" she explained. " Oh, poor thing". Cindy sat still studying the beer and then look across her. "Everything feels alot strange Rhea" she said as she drank more beer. "What do you mean?" She asked staring hardly at her. " Everything about my life" she mumbled, her h

Cathy sat on the couch absentminded , her gaze was fixed on the morning newspaper which wasn't surprising. She always read the newspaper every morning with a nice cup of coffee as she checkmate her business enterprise. Today was different, her coffee stood there untouched and it looked cold. She wore a robe thet made her look like middle aged women from the 80's. They stood there for sometime unnoticed thinking of how to get her attention. " Catherine!" Axl cried with his voice sounding cold and harsh. She turned looking so shocked not because of his yelling but because he just called her by her original name, a name which no one except her father had called her before. At the same time Axl was also shocked by the boldness of his friend as he looked at him for an explanation to what had just happened. She drifted closer as she jerked her head high, drew back her shoulders and with arrogant pride glared him down with her voice. " How dare you Axl!" S

" I worked very hard to make sure all my plans came to accomplishment and all you want to do is ruin it by divorcing her?" He asked as he looked at him with rage. Axl digested it as he bowed his head in shame. " Tell me Axl what do you think Cathy will do when she hears about your divorce plans? He asked. He looked away . " Let me tell you, she would gladly leave you, you know why? He interrogated and quickly answered. "That's because you have nothing Axl, you are nothing without her". " I won't be in this house if she was not here " he concluded. Axl looked around the room , the mansion was all thanks to Cathy. The mansion wasn't like the other mansions in the neighborhood .
