Chapter 31

Chapter 31Samantha's POVI held the key in my hand for a moment and stared at his retreating figure till Cassie nudged me."Lucky you and still yet lucky me,I have another tree morning." she said in glee."This is nothing but a punishment." I concluded. Sure that was what it was,I had to clean up his huge room all by myself, why?And still yet Miss. Melissa might cause yet another fuss about it not knowing that this is actually nothing but Alpha Kayden punishing me for what I don't know yet."Bye girlie." Cassie said as soon as we got to the door to Alpha Kayden's room."Oh no! Bye then." I waved at her and opened the door. I got into the room and locked the door behind me, I definitely did not want some other person to come in today to nag and yell at me.I set to cleaning immediately, careful not to touch anything delicate but instead I admired them from a distance. Alpha Kayden really had a beautiful room with loads of beautiful things, I wonder how he got so cold seeing this beau

Chapter 32

Chapter 32Kayden's point of viewIn the end, I didn't spend much time at the office. I was already in a state of disarray, so I needed some time to myself to either relax or rest. The news that the beta had not been identified had already given me a headache.Even worse, Jay's inability to cooperate or understand made the situation even more difficult for me to handle.Even though I'd been at work for hours, I hadn't even unpacked my luggage, and no matter how many times I tried to think of a means to get these wolf hunters, I couldn't come up with one.Whether it was because I wasn't in the mood to think or because there were few options, I couldn't get my hands on them.Eventually, I was allowed to leave with a relieved sigh, and my car door was promptly unlocked for me. I climbed into the car and dropped my bag on the backseat. My plea for a "slow drive" was granted, and the cold breeze and softness of it all worked wonders in calming me down.A 20-minute drive turned into a 35- t

Chapter 33

Chapter 33Kayden's POVI waited for like minutes but there was no Mantha, this was definitely not the time for me to be kept waiting even if it was Mantha.I tapped my foot on the floor impatiently. I could not wait anymore so I decided to give her another call but this time she did not pick up my calls.I furrowed my brows and dialled her contact but it was the same response, she was not picking my calls yet again making me wonder what the heck in the word she could be doing that made her ignore my calls.I was getting angry already enough but then I decided to calm myself down. "What reason could be enough for her not to come to me at my orders?" I questioned myself."Perhaps Melissa is at it again or one of the maids," Jay said and I was a bit relieved. At least he was now cool with me and was over his anger and fit."That's possible but still yet no one amongst them would dare to stop her knowing very well that I am requesting for her presence," I replied him."Maybe they do not

Chapter 34

Chapter 34Kayden's POV"Samantha" I called and she turned towards me."A... Alpha Kayden" she stuttered, her eyes gazing at the floor."Were you kinda deaf when I asked you to get me my keys?!" I yelled at her and she shook her head vehemently."I... I am sorry Alpha Kayden." she apologized."You think an apology would solve this?! I called you and you did not even pick up my calls?!" I yelled at her but she kept mute."Heads up! Samantha heads up!" I yelled at her and she slowly raised her head.I wanted to yell at her more but immediately I saw her eyes I kept quiet, she was crying already, tears were streaming down her eyes."I... I am sorry Alpha Kayden." she apologized and I blinked twice. Her tears seemed to have washed away my anger somehow and now I was curious to know why she was crying."I asked you to get me my keys, why didn't you come to me immediately?" I asked my voice now at its usual tone."Mantha," I called and she seemed to let out a breath of relief."I am sorry A

Chapter 35

Chapter 35Samantha's Pov"Isn't that Cassie?" Alpha Kayden asked."Not at all Alpha, she is not the one, Cassie has blonde hair, I very well know this girl," I said I was kind of lost in my anger and on the screen that I forgot to pay adequate respect to Alpha Kayden."I... I am sorry Alpha Kayden." I apologized, moving backwards from the monitor. I was too close to it and too close to Alpha too "Do not apologize when you do nothing wrong," he said."I... was too close to you, that is what I am apologizing for Alpha," I said with a slight bow and heard him groan."Can you stop apologizing repeatedly?" He asked but it was more of an order."Yes Alpha" I mumbled a response."Uhm... about this girl, she is the one who gave me a glass of watermelon juice the other day to give to you," I said, pointing to the screen once more."Follow me." his words came as he moved his weight off the chair he was sitting on and headed towards the door.I moved quickly after him and followed after him.H

Chapter 36

Chapter 36Kayden's POVI sat on the chair in my room, seething with anger that ran through me, I could hardly believe that Mantha had to beg me on behalf of that girl, the very one that had almost put her in trouble.Does she have an idea what I could have done to her if I had lost it earlier? She does not know. Back then, I was tempted to give in to her pleas but then I could not change my decisions, I have always been that way. The only person that made me change my decisions was mum, no other person could and I was not ready to include Mantha on the list of people that could. My mind drifted slowly to the image of her hitting her forehead on the hard floor. "She is just a stupid girl!" I groaned. Why would she plead on behalf of her enemy? What if I let go of that girl and the girl tries to harm her again?! Then I would never be able to find out what's the mystery behind her.I looked at the door for some spilt moments before a knock came on my door followed by the swift opening

Chapter 37

Chapter 37Samantha's POV"Ouch, that hurts." I winced."Isn't this the brave and passionate lady who apologized on behalf of her enemy?" Cassie asked with a hint of sarcasm in her voice."C'mon, do not mock me." I groaned as she massaged the spot."You are using too much pressure," I grumbled to her."Pressure? Didn't you use too much pressure to hit the floor?" she asked."You are still mocking me.""She has to massage it hard or else your forehead is going to get swollen, do not ruin this perfect face," Cara said."Do not flatter me, Cara.""I am not, I am simply flattering myself," she replied."Samantha, what do you think of Alpha Kayden's reaction to you apologizing on her behalf?" Cassie asked and I sighed softly."I think he reacted the exact way expected from him, c'mon he is Alpha Kayden and who am I? A maid, I knew he wasn't going to listen to me. Why would he change his decisions because of someone like me?" I asked no one in particular."But then he should have at least s

Chapter 38

Chapter 38Samantha's POVI stood in awe as I stared at the discussing family. If truly they are going to be leaving in two days, even with the old lady of the house. This place was going to turn into hell for both I and Cassie, that I was sure of.The fake smiled on Miss. Melissa's face was not enough to deceive me, I very well knew that she hated me and was only seeking the perfect opportunity to get back at me and that perfect opportunity was going to come up in the next two days when the family is away.I felt Alpha Kayden's gaze on me for a moment but I did not look up to look at him, I particularly did not want him to see my swollen forehead and the ugliness it carried along with it."Oh yes, I will be staying for the whole period whole you all are away." Miss. Lauren said and my heart skipped another beat and even Cara seemed to stand still for a moment."Another, yet another problem," she mumbled."She is going to frustrate me, she does not like me, I am sure of that," I said

Chapter 39

Chapter 39Kayden's POV.I had seen very clearly Lauren push Mantha towards mum and I could not understand why Mantha did not want to let it out that Lauren had pushed her instead she was there again, on the floor pleading. Her already swollen forehead hitting against the floor, I could only imagine how much it would hurt a human to hit a swollen forehead against the hard tiled floor."Dad I would take responsibility," I said, getting up from where I was seated, I pushed back the chair I was sitting on and looked up at Dad, he looked kind of surprised or would be shocked to fit his expression more.I walked over to Mantha and stood beside her."Get up, I am going to get you punished myself for being careless," I said to her in my usual cold manner and she slowly got up."I would be leaving now," I said and have Lauren a look that told her I knew about what she did and I would be on the lookout for her, she simply lowered her head, perhaps in shame.I headed over to the stairs and I co

Chapter 40

Chapter 40Samantha's POVI walked back to the maid's quarters, my shoulders slightly dropping. I was tired from the day's activities, I was dead tired and down with a terrible headache also that seemed to threaten to take my head off me.I sat on my bed and Cassie rushed over to me."You do not look so good, did Alpha Kayden punish you?" She asked and I slightly shook my head to indicate the opposite before handing her the balm he had given to me."Alpha Kayden did not punish me but he blamed me for the swelling on my forehead," I replied her."You should not have apologized for hitting your head when you very well know that it is already in a bad shape," she replied and I sighed."Just forget about it, all I want to do right now is to sleep," I replied her, laying down on my bed."Why don't you let apply this balm first?" She asked."Just do whatever you want to," I mumbled tiredly and she smeared some of the balms on my forehead, her hands touching my forehead lightly, she was pret
