“How could you possibly help me?” Charlotte enquired.“I shall arrange a meeting with Alpha Matthew and engage in a conversation regarding this matter,” I replied with a smiling visage.Charlotte's eyes lit up. “Really? Would you truly wish to assist me?”“Indeed,” I affirmed.“Well, I would be most grateful if you would be so kind as to offer your assistance. I am deeply appreciative and promise to treat you to a meal, if need be,” Charlotte expressed her gratitude.I shook my head. “Pledge to be a valuable member to Alpha Matthew.”Charlotte gave a respectful nod, and I smiled with satisfaction. We then made our way home. I called Mom as Mark was to pick me up and head straight to the lab.Mark sent me a message saying the weapon made from the Nighshade plant was ready for testing, and Alpha Matthew was to send additional spies to the Highcrown Walkers.Upon arriving at the lab, Alpha Matthew greeted me with a curious, beaming smile.Upon arriving at the laboratory, Alpha Matthew wa

A week after our conversation that night, Alpha Matthew sent additional warriors after the previous warriors returned home and provided an important piece of information. Alpha Matthew was already happy that his revenge had been avenged. Alpha Matthew invited us to dinner at his house and talked about our relationship. "Good evening, Lauryn, Mark, Beta Hugo, and all of yours." Alpha Matthew greeted us warmly as we arrived at his mansion. "I'm so glad you could join me for dinner tonight.""It's our pleasure, Alpha Matthew," Dad replied, returning the smile. "We were excited to hear about the latest news from your warriors."Alpha Matthew nodded, a satisfied look on his face. "Indeed, the information they brought back was vital to our cause. And, as you know, I always reward those who serve me well."As we sat down to dinner, Alpha Matthew continued, "But I wanted to talk to you both about something else tonight. Our relationship has been a strong one, built on trust and respect. And

As the night drew on and the festivities were in full swing, a sense of unease loomed in the air. What was supposed to be a joyous occasion was suddenly thrown into turmoil. With a sense of foreboding, I was summoned, along with Mark, by the pack's leader, Alpha Matthew. Our task was clear, to confront the troublesome Randy and extract information about the recent attack on our warriors. The situation was far from ideal, but we were determined to uncover the truth and protect our pack."You seem quite confident, Randy," I said, a smirk playing on my lips. "But let me remind you, you have no right to make such a threat. As descendants of the original Alpha Bonaparte, we will not be buried alive."Randy sneered in response, "Is that so? I have no idea what you're talking about. Intruders must be punished according to the rules of the Highcrown Walkers.""Oh, I think you know exactly what we're referring to," Mark interjected, his eyes narrowing. "And we won't stand for it. Not now, not

I jolted awake in a murky pond, my entire body aching and stiff. My vision was blurred, and my head was pounding, but I summoned all my strength to rise to my feet. The surroundings were pitch black, but I rummaged through my pockets and stumbled upon my lifesaver - my cell phone with a flash light. Lucky for me, I had placed it in a plastic bag, which saved it from being damaged by the water. As I switched on the light, I squinted at my phone, “It’s already 12 in the midnight ... but where the devil am I?”I clamped my mouth shut as I laid my eyes on the young girl, lying still, not far from me. Struggling to my feet, I stumbled over to check on her condition.“Oh dear, little one. Are you alright?” I said, trying to rouse her.But as I checked for a pulse, my heart sank. The young girl was gone. The realization washed over me with a mixture of emotions, leaving me sitting there, dazed, and confused.“No, no, it can&rsquo

As the door to the bunker closed shut, the panic within me only grew stronger. My body trembled, both from fear and the pain shooting up my leg, the blood trickling down once more.Hayden frantically tore at her sweater, wrapping it tightly around my wound. Daniel stood guard at the door, a look of fierce determination etched across his face."What's happening out there?" I asked, my voice trembling."Shh," Hayden shushed me, her eyes filled with a sense of urgency. "We'll explain everything once you're feeling better. Just rest now, Lauryn."I reluctantly accepted the anti-pain medication she offered, still unsure of what exactly was going on.Hayden let out a deep sigh, her eyes meeting mine. "We're avoiding a monster, Lauryn. One that hasn't shown its face in a long time. We're not entirely sure what triggered its sudden appearance, but we suspect it may have caught a whiff of your scent after you spent the day lost in the woods."Daniel nodded in agreement. "We need to be careful.
