Leila's POV.I turned around in fright wondering who touched me, my fear lessened when I realized it was Jerome."Hey Jerome." I managed a smile sniffling.“What are you doing here?" I tried to hide my tears, but he was quick to notice them, and pulled me into a tight hug. I know he didn't know that the Alpha was my mate, and he was the reason I cried,but I kinda hoped he did, I needed someone to talk to, but I knew telling him would make matters worse for him and me.The last thing I wanted was for my problems to become more of an obstacle to others than they already were. "Are you okay?" He asked."I'm fine." I managed a smile."Why wouldn't I be?" I wiped away some fresh tears with my shirt sleeve not willing to let them fall anymore.He didn't say anything back, just tightened his arms. I looked up at him and found a look of pure worry in his eyes that made my heart ache."Are you sure?" He asked again."I'm sure." I smiled widely, even though my heart kept clenching painfully.

Leila's POV.I woke up with a start immediately I felt chill water on me."Wake up sleepy head." The creepy voice called out.I stood up, my whole body shivering as I remembered that I was kidnapped and I've been suffering here.The alpha didn't come to get me the way I thought he would, he actually did what I thought.He didn't come, and it wasn't surprising, but it hurt so much to see that he wasn't here.The realization that I was alone and he won't come for me hit me."I'm happy you're up." The man who called himself Alpha James said.I rolled my eyes wondering why he was bordering me."Your mate is on the move looking for you." Darren's POV.I ran as fast as I could, swerving past every tree I could see. The forest was dark and gloomy and full of shadows that moved around me.It seemed alive and threatening at the same time. I felt like a predator trying to blend in with its surroundings.The trees were so tall and massive, blocking out any sunlight they could give me.
