50: A Meeting in Person
Jillie’s POV                 We’d pulled into Jarren’s parent’s palace after dropping Garret and Kaileeh off at his house. I’d always just thought they all lived together until Jarren told me differently on Valentine’s Day. I was in complete awe as we walked up to the front doors. It was huge, and the landscaping was so beautiful. The massive front doors opened, and we walked inside. “Prince Jarren.” A man said with a bow. “Miss.” He then said with another bow.“Hello, Conrad. This is Jillie, Jillie, that’s Conrad.” Jarren introduced us.“Nice to meet you,” I told him with a smile.

51: Shared Dream
Jarren’s POV                 I laughed at her. I couldn’t help it. She shot me a look, and it made me laugh harder. She was so cute when she was trying to be mad. In one quick motion, I had her on my back. She let out a surprised shriek.“Don’t do that,” she said, hitting me on the back. “I need a warning before you use your vampire super speed on me.”I laughed. “Alright, hold on. There’s your warning.”                With that said, I ran out of the room. I felt her grip tighten around me, but she didn’t shriek this time. In about five seconds, we were at the front door

52: A Vision
Jillie’s POV                                That sickening flower smell came back. Don’t get me wrong. I loved the scent of flowers, but this was overdoing it. I looked at everyone else at the table, and they gave the waiter their orders. How did they not smell this? It was so strong that it was making my headache come back.                 I looked down at the table as the menus were gathered, and the waiter left. For some reason, my eyes kept coming back to Jarren’s water. Something flashed before my eyes, and I blinked it away. It happened again. What was going on? Then all of a sudden, I saw something unfold right before my e

53: Rid of Him
Jillie’s POV I woke up to bright blinding lights. I put my hand in front of my face. As I sat up, I groaned, feeling the hammering in my head. I attempted to bring my hands to my temples but stopped short when I noticed there was an IV in one of them. I looked around the large room, which was done in bright yellow. I saw Jarren off in one of the corners talking to someone. I tried to speak, but my throat was extremely dry. I saw a cup on the stand beside the bed and grabbed it. I drank it all in one gulp, but it did little for my desert-dry throat.“Jarren.” I barely croaked out. His head turned to me, and he was at my side within a split second, his hand taking mine. He held it securely in his. I opened my mouth to speak, but he cut me off.“Don’t talk; take it easy.” Another cup of water was extended to me, and I looked at the person the hand belonged to. He looked to be about the age of my dad. He had ash blonde hair and luminous gray e

54: Emotions Test
Jillie’s POV “Alright, I just need you to relax.” Dr. Reed told me.           I was now sitting in a chair in the same room I was in. I was hooked up to a few different machines. They all looked more high-tech than what you would see in a hospital. Jarren was seated in a chair beside me, holding my hand. Nunny was sitting in a chair across from me.            I took deep breaths doing as Dr. Reed requested. I knew I must have been completely tense. Even though Nunny told me that they were minor tests, I was still a bit nervous. Minor to a vampire could sometimes be significant to a human. “The first thing that we’re going to

55: Save Him
Jillie’s POV                Again before me appeared a scene just like before. This time I was inside of what looked like the palace. There were torches on the wall giving off light. If it weren’t for those, it would be pitch dark. I made my feet move and began down the hall. I then heard a slight whimper. I followed the sound and came to a door. Pushing it open slowly, I stepped inside.                 I squinted into the room as the torches in the hall supplied the faintest of light. In the corner, scrunched into a small ball, was a girl. As I got closer, I noticed that girl was Kaileeh. “Kailee

56: What To Do?
Jarren’s POV            I made my way down the hall and into my room, kicking the door closed behind me. I walked over and sat her down on the bed. I hadn’t been in my palace room in a while, but it was exactly how I’d left it. “What was it?” I asked. I couldn’t see what it was Nunny was showing her; she wouldn’t allow me to see it like she had the others, but the fact that she didn’t want me to see was enough for me to put an end to it.“You and Garret were fighting.” She continued when I stayed silent. “He wanted the throne. He wanted to be King. He was going to kill you,” she said in a whisper. “I couldn’t make the fire come; I couldn’t save you.&

57: A Visit to Nona
“Hello, hummingbird.” Nona greeted as she opened the front door. I threw my arms around her neck and hugged her.“Hello, Nona.” I greeted with a smile after pulling away. “This is Jarren.” I introduced.“Well, hello there.” Nona greeted me with a smile.“Nice to meet you,” Jarren told her.“Come in, both of you.”           We stepped inside the house and followed Nona to her living room. She took a seat in an armchair, and Jarren and I sat on the sofa. “Why aren’t you in school?” Nona asked.

58: A Walk in the Past
Jillie’s POV After leaving the blacksmith that night he headed back home but stopped when his eyes landed on two men. Both with black hair. One was slightly taller than the other with brown eyes, while the shorter one had blue eyes. Again there was a flash before Abram’s eyes. He followed behind the two men silently. They stopped outside of the carpenter’s. One went inside, and the other one waited. Abram looked around and noticed there were only three other people making their way by on the sidewalk. After they’d passed, Abram made his way around the short man and pulled him in between the shops. The man grunted and tried to call for help, but Abram was blocking his windpipe. He snapped his neck with ease.

59: Prophecies Written
Jarren’s POVWe were on our way home, and Jillie was absolutely quiet. I knew what she’d heard from her grandmother had been a lot. Couple that with the things that she heard from Nunny and I, and her head must have been reeling.“You okay?”“Yeah, I’m fine,” she responded, leaning back in the seat.“I know it’s a lot to take in Piccolo.”“You have no idea. You can’t possibly imagine how confused, upset, and scared I am,” she whispered.“Yes, I can love,” I told her tapping my head.“Stay out of my head,” she mumbled.“I understand why you’re confused and upset. Why are you scared?”“Because I’ve seen movies, and I know that nothing good comes from things like this.”“Yes, but this isn’t a movie. So, you don’t know that.” I took her hand and mine. “You’re jumpi
