CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE: Remain in Valeria
She refused to move into his arms, “Until you tell me why you want to meet the witch during the wee-hours of tonight. Is that what you do every other night?” Conroy threw his head back in laughter, “I spend every night in your chambers—on your bed, buried to the hilt inside you and then watch you slumber, carried by the fleeting wings of drowsiness. Even if I am a wolf, a magical creature, I cannot split myself on your bed and hers.” “I never accused you of spending the nights on her bed! You lying wolf!” with that Amelia turned to face him and flung the heavy pelt on him. “You took my maidenhead vowing to always love me and remain loyal to me but you are having an affair with the witch!” Conroy still laughing, gathered her into his naked chest and forced her to lay still but she punched her fists on the hard panes of his sculpted arms, “You…You don’t love me.” She said in a hoarse voice, “You find your witch more appealing than your mate…” “Hell, woman! If you have any idea

CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO: Hunting with his highness!
The brilliance and bloom of the spring made its way into Amelia’s nostrils, swimming in her blood! She was eager to be out and about in the fresh air now that the sunny and stuffy season was gone! She knew it won’t be easy to gain the freedom she perceived she once had, but nonetheless! She had been dreaming of herself having wild rides alone on horses to wherever she fancied or where the directions where the winds blew. But it was not so in Valeria. Having so much people who cared about her made things different. Sian who was looking forward to the mating season when their king would finally mate with Amelia under the full moon and be crowned queen of Valeria kept a watchful eye on her too. Arian, her mate’s beta, exhibited an infuriating brotherly love towards her and seemed intent to keep her in sight. “No, my lady. The king would have my head if I let you out of these walls.” She grimaced as she was stopped by one of the guards where she stood in the stables, trying to

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE: Hunting a prey
Blood hounds, werewolf’s shifters, pranced around horses’ hooves in the outer part of Valerian Castle. Nipping at each other’s butts, yapping and growling, ignoring their king’s words. All members of the werewolf Royal family that abodes in the castle were all present, Including Sian and Arian. At last she was out the castle! Amelia thought excitedly as she clutched the reins of her mount, tightly in her fist. The hounds streamed past her, all excited to be in the open while the shifters sat in their human form on horses breathing in the fresh air of spring. Some of the royal guards too were present, bright-eyed and colorfully dressed as this would mark their first hunting of the year, so close to the mating season. The hunting expedition followed their hounds who were tracing after the tracks of a wild animal. Suddenly they all stopped as the hounds took them to the spot where a bear dwelled. A wild bear. Sure enough, Conroy had climbed his horse to attack the prey but Ame

CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR: Oh, I want you, your highness.
They joined stares came upon a little doe and Amelia’s heart softened. Before she could get to her feet to take the doe into her hands, it skittered away. “Oh, that was such a cute little loveliness.” Amelia whispered as she leaned back into Conroy. “Yes, truly it was.” Conroy agreed as his mouth lingered over hers again, taking her mouth in a deep kiss. “In truth, your shrewdness keeps me in awe.” She panted shakily when he moved back, though her fingers still wove tightly about his hair. “Yes, and breathless too, you rogue wolf!” He smiled, his blue eyes, glinting with a mischievous sparkle, “Only breathless, sweetheart? And just in awe? I thought I did more to you...like make in between your legs moist with arousal. “You know you also do that to me.” She sighed heavily, reaching to stroke the ruggedness of his hard face. And she wiped the hairs falling onto his brow, “Oh, you make me want you, Alpha King Lucas Conroy.” “Perhaps, but surely not as much as I want you, wh

CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE: She is…
Amelia woke up one faithful day in the spring whilst Conroy was training with his men and she felt neglected by him. She wouldn’t lie, his drilling had paid off because most of his men who had been hopeless on swordplay could now duel and win. But she still felt so abandoned by him as he had barely showed up in her room as of late, that Amelia felt sickened to the pit of her belly for the first time. In truth, she was barely able to crawl out from her bed and empty the contents of her stomach into a huge wooden bowl, overwhelmed by nausea. After retching and dry-heaving for what seemed like hours with her stomach feeling hollowed, she shakily made her way beneath the fur coverlet. She hid under the coverlets, shivering and with tears streaming down her face. She wiped her face clean as Sian came to her bed, holding platters of her best meals but in this time, made her nauseous that she held her breath, trying not to throw up. She stylishly told Sian to take the food back in

CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX: the human revolution
“The end is near! We must strengthen our race against those underworld demons! They rule over us! They drink our blood! They mate with our women! They walk amongst us like they own the earth! A sickening truth is they look like us! But do not be deceived, they are not humans and will never be! Beneath their human-like skin is a wild savage beast that feeds on our fear, so in my opinion, we need to rise and fight our cause. It is time for our independence! It is time to rise against their menace and be liberated.” Fists clapped against fist, voices jeered and screamed, the uproar echoing in the town hall. Men and women dressed in animal skin and fur whispered to one another in support of what was said. Children howled and ran about, showing their support in their own little way. Isobel Stratford stood uneasily in a corner, a tight smile on her face as her stomach coiled. The orator, her father, whipped his head to the side and grinned at the mortals behind him, where he stood on

CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN: She is pregnant.
King Lucas Conroy sat before Amelia’s sleeping form, gazing down at her with so much tenderness that Arian had to look away, in fear of intruding on their affection. “Why didn’t you tell me, sweetheart?” Conroy whispered as he pressed his lips to the back of Amelia’s hands. Arian noticed a tear wriggling its way down his cheeks and he felt sorry for his brother. He looked so hurt that Arian opened and closed his mouth repeatedly in search of the right words to say. “I would have done everything to make you even happier.” Conroy continued, his eyes closing as his wolf howled in pain in his mind. “Do not spew anymore lies Lucas. I know of the truth.” A hoarse voice clogged with tears whispered and Conroy raised his head. Arian took that as a cue for him to leave the room. In bewilderment, he said, “Lies? What lies do I tell?” “Do not play me for a fool, Lucas, you know what you are doing.’ She accused through tear-filled eyes. “I would be lying to you if I claim to unders

CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT:The Alpha of Golden Corbin Pack
Conroy meets the Alpha of Golden Corbin pack. Sitting up from the mat he had tumbled upon earlier, Conroy pushed the probing fingers off his body, feeling an embarrassed blush crawl up his face. “What is wrong your highness? Why can’t you get it up?” Antoinette questioned as she sat up alongside him, trying to stroke his cock to awareness but he pushed her hands away. They had been at it for a long while and Conroy’s dick refused to act accordingly. His wolf glared at him anytime Antoinette touched their dick. “Your pardon Antoinette, can we pretend that this never happened and I was never here?” he asked a little flushed. Antoinette arched a brow, “Does your little mate—err—Amelia know you are here…in this moment with me?” A smirk played on her face. “Do not ask me questions you already know the answer to.” Conroy snapped and rose from the mat, hastily pulling on his breeks and tunics. Antoinette threw her head back in laughter, “I knew for sure that the king couldn’t

CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE: The plan
Conroy muttered a gratitude to his mate under his breath—thanks to her hard work and dedication, his men were now drilled in the art of swordplay and could easily battle and win against a human. He would definitely have a talk with the man after. “Damn the goddess!” the crowd roared. Conroy resisted the urge to flinch. Ages ago, it would have been considered blasphemous to speak of the Goddess that way. But Conroy was in support of their words as things were. “I have spoken with various pack leaders and Alphas to ask if you all will stand by me, if you will stand by your race, stand by your families against the threat that is preparing to exterminate our race in the blink of an eye. Will you fight the Barren war?” There was a strong response from the crowd as everyone shouted their approval and howled for the man, displaying their backing. The man nodded one, then twice before shuffling off the platform. He began a stroll towards King Lucas Conroy. Conroy clapped his shoulder
