Chapter Twenty-One•SOPHIA•That daughter of a pig doesn’t belong here. What was Aiden thinking? My mind was boiling with so much anger as I thought about everything. Even the thought of her made my stomach rubble in anger. “I have to do something about this,” I said to myself as I stepped out of my black SUV with my heels clicking against the marble driveway like I was declaring war. The Villa stood tall but still, I didn't like the feeling I got when I looked at the building because I could feel her inside.Kiana.The little girl with doe eyes and a tragic past. The pet project of Aiden fucking Griffin. He always had a soft spot for broken things but I was not broken. I was more of a nearly kept fire that was waiting for the right time to erupt. I was power wrapped in a silk dress and red lips. One thing I hated was that I do not like to share. I hated to share what was mine. "Good morning, Miss Sophia," one of the guards greeted me and I didn't respond.I let myself in becaus

Chapter Twenty-Two•KIANA•"You are not going to tell him, right?"I asked when I slipped into Emma’s sitting room and found Cassie on the phone. She paused, gave me a look, then raised one brow like I just told her I wanted to grow wings.I knew that this was going to be a difficult task but still, I had to do it. If Aiden finds out, he was going to make sure I got punished. "You want to leave the Villa without security? While Damon’s out there playing freaky puppet master with every lowlife in the city?" She asked and her words sent shivers down my spine. "I just want to see my dad. Aria collapsed and he is all alone. I can't just stay indoors like a prisoner. This is my family.”She didn’t respond at first and she just ended her call and sighed."You are not supposed to leave without telling Aiden. That is the rule and you know that he doesn't joke with rules.""Then don’t tell him. Please,” I pleaded with her and Cassie looked me over like she was measuring how much trouble I co

Chapter Twenty-Three•AIDEN•I didn’t know what the hell I was doing. Maybe I just needed control or maybe I just needed her still long enough for me to think straight. The chains were good at best. She could snap them if she wanted but she didn’t.I wrapped the cold metal around her wrists, then her ankles, the soft clink of it made me almost hard. Her gaze never left mine, like she knew exactly what I was thinking. Holy heavens! These were not pure thoughts. It was not something I should be thinking while restraining her.I gritted my teeth, forcing the thought out. I felt the need and the craving right deep inside me as I bit my lower lip, sharp enough to ground myself and to drag myself out of whatever storm she stirred in me."This isn’t about that. At least not yet,” I muttered. “I just need you to stay put."After I chained her hands and legs together, all I could think about was how to fuck her in those chains. I should think of a better solution to this. ***"You don’t

Chapter Twenty-Four•KIANA•"He wasn’t always like this, you know."Liam’s voice broke the silence as we both stared at the beautiful clean lake behind the Villa. I had no idea why he suddenly said all that as if he knew what I was thinking. The sun was starting to set, casting an orange shimmer across the water. I hugged my knees to my chest and looked at him."Aiden?" He asked and Liam nodded with his hands stuffed deep into his jacket pockets."He used to laugh more and talk more. He used to be really jovial and cool. He was the man who used to look people in the eye without making them flinch,” Liam explained further and I didn’t say anything. I wasn’t sure what to say.Liam turned slightly, his gaze a little distant and he let out a soft cough. "He was engaged once, anyway. Before you,” he revealed and automatically my mind went to Sophie who supposedly tried to harm me the other day. My heart skipped a bit and I realised that I was getting jealous just by hearing that. "W

Chapter Twenty-Five•KIANA•"You are a damn coward! A damn coward! And trust me, I will keep saying this over and over again until it sinks into your skull!”I don't know why I had a sudden outburst but I couldn't stop. I had these words come out of me like a loaded gunshot. I made sure they got to him so badly that his eyes narrowed. Aiden looked up from his desk, the pen in his hand frozen mid-air.His eyes darkened with surprise and I waited patiently to hear what he had to say."Say that again,” he demanded. "You heard me," I said, voice trembling even though I stood my ground. “You write down everything you are too afraid to say out loud. You prefer to write instead of talking to me like a human being. Is that not cowardly? Now, tell me if there's anyone you know who does such a thing.”He stood and just like that, the room shrank. He was not shouting or raising his voice at me because he didn’t see the need to and that was what I was more scared of. Aiden in silence was mo

Chapter Twenty-SixAIDEN"Boss, you need to see this,’ Liam’s voice cut through the hallway like a sharp blade. His voice interrupted my thoughts but I remained calm. Whatever he wanted to save had to be worth it. My instincts flared immediately and I turned from the glass wall of my office and met him halfway. He was holding a small, black box which looked strangely wrapped. There was no more attached to it and I took it from him slowly.I didn't know what to expect as my hands didn’t shake. Not yet. Maybe it would if I see what was in it. "Where did this come from?" I asked, still taking a look at it. "The front gate, sir. There was no signature attached to it and the guard said it was just... there."That was all I needed to hear.I walked back into the office, shut the door behind me, and peeled the lid off.Inside was a flash drive.Just a flash drive? Is this really happening? What was I going to do with this? But I already knew what the sender wanted me to do. Quickly,

Chapter Twenty-Seven KIANAIf Aiden finds out, he will kill me. There were no two ways about that. I always knew that he didn't want me to do this but I went ahead to do it. A lot were at risk and I knew that if I wanted to have this, I had to take action. “He is going to kill me,” I said to Felix the moment I stepped into his car.He leaned over the console and handed me a bottle of water, like this was just a normal day and not the moment I was betraying the most dangerous man in the city."He won’t," Felix said, giving me a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. "Not if you don’t tell him. I mean, if your mouth runs like a leaking tap then you should have yourself to blame."I twisted the cap open and stared at the dashboard, unsure if I was shaking from fear or guilt.Maybe it was both. Probably both. Who knows?"I just want to get my dad out," I whispered. "Aiden is doing nothing about it. I have talked to him countless times about it yet, he keeps giving silly excuses. I c

Chapter Twenty-EightKIANA"You look confused and that’s okay. You will understand everything soon."That voice sounded so familiar, and twisted. It coiled through the dark like a snake and immediately, my eyes flew open. My hands were tied behind my back and my legs were bound together. I knew that I had just entered the lion's there and no, I wasn't captured. I walked into it because I came to him for help. Panic rose in my chest like fire as I tried to understand what was going on. I couldn't control how I felt any longer and I looked at the direction the voice was coming from. "Felix?" I asked and he stepped into the dim light of the house, walking like a ghost. He kept smiling as if something was equally amusing but…I had no idea what that was. I was scared. I was really scared to my bones that my teeth gritted out of its will. "Don’t look at me like that," he said. "I’m the only one who has ever actually seen you. We both know that.”I jerked against the ropes and my t

Chapter Twenty-Nine KIANA"Say something, damn it! What is wrong with you? Why can't you speak?” Cassie asked when she barged into my room on day four of silence. I was angry at everyone, including myself. This was the worst time to demand anything from me and Cassie knew better. Then, why was she doing this? I needed space. I needed my own private space without anyone in it. I hadn’t spoken a word to Aiden since the moment he dragged me out of that tunnel like a broken doll, with blood on his hands and rage in his eyes.I knew he was as mad as hell but still that couldn't stop the fact that I had every right to be extremely mad. She crossed her arms and stood in the doorway like a prison guard. “He didn’t kill Felix. That’s restraint, in case you missed it,” she continued yet I didn’t reply.I sat by the window, my legs tucked under me and my chin on my knee. The rain slapped the glass hard and I liked the sound of it. It made my silence feel less loud. At least, I could hear

Chapter ThirtyAIDEN“Say something, dammit!” I muttered to myself. I guess that kiss she gave me clouded my heart and my head that I decided to get a ring and propose to her. What have I been waiting for? I have loved this girl all my life and it's time to take the right step and do the right thing. But, was I actually thinking properly? I was down on one knee, holding out the ring like a fool and she didn’t move an inch. She also didn’t blink, making me look like I was only wasting my time. Kiana just stood there with her arms wrapped around her own body like I had just stabbed her instead of proposed. What the hell?! Why is this so hard for her? I was trembling and drowning in anxiety because I had one of the most expensive rings on my palm. “Kiana?” I asked again, softer this time and she shook her head slowly, almost like it physically hurt to speak. My heart was already beating so fast that I feared that it might burst my ribs open. I only wanted her to say the word. The
