Though I said I’d think about it and decide, I wasn’t really able to do so. I only managed to replay it a lot of times til my eyes shut on its own. It was almost morning then, so I wasn’t really surprise when I woke up late. When I opened my eyes and roamed it around, I saw a tray on the table beside my bed. It had a milk, bread and a decent breakfast meal on it. Lilienne probably brought it inside. She probably didn’t wake me up because she knew it had been two executive days that I was waking up early. That said, I felt pain all over my body. On my back. Arms. Legs. Even on the neck. The exhaustion was gone, but pain replaced it. Almost every part of my body was aching, that I didn’t have the energy to went out of the bed right after. My hunger aside, I didn’t have anything else that pushed me to move and eat. Remembering what happened the night before was already something that made me lose my appetite. I just didn’t think I could go out and act normal after the incident yesterda

The court ladies. Declan did mention them when I tried to talk to him earlier. He said they would help me with my duties. That would surely conclude all the responsibilities I would have to hold. I stood up from the edge of the bed. Lilienne looked back at me then, as if asking for my confirmation. I nodded, before I turned my full attention to the Ladies that were now walking gracefully inside. All were wearing expensive and high-class gowns. Each of them had different face features, skintone, and eye color. I guess the only thing they had in common was their race. Now, the room was reeking with their smell. “I’m Genevieve Lamperogue.” I introduce myself, and bowed my head a little. “You must have already heard about me from the King. Please introduce yourselves.” The one with the green victorian dress stepped forward. She put her right hand above her abdomen, before she bowed down her head. “I am Chamnielle Vicarius. My family was close to the Queen’s clan. My grandfather was the

After everything else, things had finally began to ran smoothly. I have been getting used with my new environment, and I was getting the hang of it. The servants. The court ladies. Declan, Lilienne. Everything was going so smoothly ever since Queen Devra's removal of her post. Also, afte Declan and I did it, he had been extra careful with me. Like he was already expecting for a baby. I didn't know, but every morning after that he'd visit me to give me a kiss on my forehead. On every evening, he would check up on me. He also would normally send Lycans to my room for assistance— although I wasn't asking for it.

This was what I was worried about when I tried to talk to the King the morning he was about to make the announcement regarding the Queen's removal off his post.Of course, I saw this coming. This was the Lycans' territory. The Canine Family's land. Someone like me, a mere wolf whose capabilities were inferior to them cannot possibly replace the Queen. I was just a mistress from a not so known pack. I wasn't even recognized. Thus, this situation did not really susprise me. But I could not help but feel affected still. Though I feel much safer now, I feel disappointed, hurt, and... belittled.

"W-what?""The Lycans have started to question the King's decision," said Elizabeth. "So it is best for you to stay in the Palace."My heart contorted. I looked at the lined up court ladies before the door, giving them a worried and nervous glance. This issue has been going around for days. That the Lycans did not want to accept me as their Queen. That they were starting to question the King's motives and intentions. Rumors started spreading. The Lycans' voice were becoming loud each passing day... until it became chaos."What about the King?" I stood up from the bed.
