Jane sighed as she recognized the neighborhood of the restaurant, she had hoped that the cab ride would be longer as she had grown quite comfortable in the seat of the cab, sleepy even. So much that she had been unaware of what was happening around her for a huge chunk of the trip from the traphouse till they had arrived here, in proximity now to her destination. She peered at the inner rearview mirror and found the driver looking at her, he had kind eyes and grey hair and seemed to understand how tired she was. " Do you need me to make a detour?", he asked, still looking at her through the mirror. She was caught off guard by the question and the more she thought about it, she saw the kindness behind the man's words. " Oh no! Thank you for offering sir", she responded quickly as she didn't know if she would be able to afford the fare if he did what he was offering. Jane was a bit nervous, it was going to be her first day on the job and to be frank, she really didn't know what to expect yet. She panicked for the first time today after dropping Stephanie off with her friend Mandy. Mandy owned a hair salon not too far from the white lotus and she had been quite keen to take Stephanie off her hands upon hearing that she had gotten a job at the white lotus, the news of the new and luxury establishment had no doubt gotten to her ears as her clientele in the highbrow area had no doubt visited the place at least once. The restaurant was the talk of the town, this made it so much easier for Mandy to agree to taking care of stephanie for the period that Jane would be at work. "Hey Mandy," Jane called into her phone as she readied herself for the uncomfortable task of asking her friend if she was going to be able to watch stephanie today while she worked. "You do know you don't have to be so polite when you want to bring Stephanie over," Mandy teased as she heard her friend's pleading voice over the phone. Jane always felt like the little girl was inconveniencing the ladies and was increasingly skeptical about leaving Stephanie there. "I'm going to have to bother you one more time Mandy," She squeaked into the phone.
