Lahat ng Kabanata ng Never Say Goodbye : Kabanata 31 - Kabanata 40

Gabriel I am surprised to find Arian waiting up for me when I walk into the house at around 11pm. She's seated on the single wingback chair in the hallway reading a book but she looks up at me and sends me a smile. "Welcome home Mr Cruz." She rises to her feet and walks over to me to collect my laptop bag. "Thank you." I say. "Were you waiting for me?" "Um... Yes." She nods. "There's something I want to discuss with you." "Is it serious? Let's go to my office." "You should um... shower first and eat." She says. "You'll feel refreshed if you do that." "I have already showered." I tell her. "And I've had dinner." "Oh, that's good." She nods. "Let's go." I lead her to my home office and open the door, letting her go in first before I walk in then shut the door. I go to take my seat but decide against it and settle down on the sofa then gesture for her to join me. She sets the bag down on the table and walks over to join me on the sofa. She looks down at her lap for a long whi

Arian Three weeks later Mr Cruz invited me to his siblings Aurora's and Giancarlo's birthday party which is going to be held at his parents house. I said no when he asked me even though a part of me really wanted to go but I'm not a family member so I don't have any business being at the party. "Kary wants you to be there." He informs me, immediately I step out of my room on the morning of the party. "Good morning to you too, Mr Cruz." I smile. "Morning." "Are you trying to use your daughter as a ploy to get me to go?" I ask. "Is it working?" He looks hopeful. "Not quite." "Why not?" He whines. I burst out laughing when I see his petulant pout. He looks like a five year old who was told he couldn't play with his toys. "I'm sorry." I stifle my laugh. "I didn't mean to laugh." "Why don't you want to go?" "I don't like... parties. Birthday parties especially." I say. "Why?" He is staring at me as if I just told him the earth is not round. I used to like celebrating my bir

ArianParties have never been my forte. Ever since I could remember, I always liked to be in an isolated corner, watching everyone else mingle and dance. This party is no different from the ones I was forced to attend with Rafael but the only good thing about this, is that I don't have to force myself to act like someone I am not. With Rafael, I had to plaster a smile on my face, greet people I didn't ever want to know because they were either in his same line of business or were just pompous idiots who thought the world was their footstool.I'm the odd one out at this party; dressed fully in my jeans, shirt with my leather jacket tied around my waist while the females are dressed in swimsuits of different designs and the males in swim trunks. Hell, even Mr Cruz who'd been fully dressed like her just an hour ago has changed into a white linen shirt and board shorts and is busy conversing with his friend and twin sister.Mrs Gabriella Wilson came with her children's nanny who is looki

Gabriel The next day I probably shouldn't be so worried about Arian but I am. There are so many things I want to know about her life with her ex husband and before she actually married the guy but I know she won't tell me. I would never have known about her triggers if I'd not been present both times it happened and I wonder just what else can cause a trigger for her. I should be working but I can't seem to focus on the documents in front of me so I let out a tired sigh, lean back in my chair and just stare at nothing in particular. I reach out to open the top drawer and take out the framed letter I have been keeping safe for almost twenty one years now. I didn't want it to get torn or the words on the paper to fade so I'd had it framed and then kept it locked where no one would ever see it. I trace the words behind the glass with my fingers, thinking that she'd lied about meeting me again. I'd not known her surname at the time or I would have done everything I could to search fo

Gabriel "Mr Cruz..." Kim's mouth drops open when she sees me walk out of the elevator dressed casually. "Um... Good morning sir.""Morning Kim." I grin."Did you lose all your suits sir?" She questions.I chuckle and shake my head. "Kary and her nanny were surprised to see me like this too." I tell her. "I just woke up and decided not to dress formally all throughout this week.""Oh. You look very dashing sir." She smiles, giving me a thumbs up. "I think all the single ladies at work will go crazy seeing you like this.""All the single ladies." I echo. "Excluding you?""I'm taken." She lifts her left hand to show me her ring.My mouth drops open in shock and I move closer to her to examine her engagement ring. It's a 10 carat princess cut diamond ring and I'm impressed by her fiancé's generosity. I know she's been looking for love for years now so I'm very happy that she's finally found someone who'd stay."This is great news!" I exclaim. "We need to celebrate. When did this happen?"
