61: caught in a trap
I made my way towards the back of the pack house where Zion said he would be waiting. From what I've gathered, the back of the pack house led to a part of the forest that wasn't overcrowded with trees and had just the perfect amount of space for a wolf to run freely. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach dancing but that didn't take away the huge smile on my face. My hands kept fiddling with the hem of my top as anticipation for what was to come built up. I rounded the corner and saw Zion leaning against a tree at the entrance of the forest, phone in his hand as he discussed something heatedly with the other person on the line. I watched as he ran his hands through his unruly curls while he listened to what was being said. He saw me and held out his hands, beckoning me to come closer. I picked up my pace and made my way towards him.“I think we have to do something about it before it gets out of hand” Zion said to the person while keeping his eyes on me.As soon as I was wit

62: An enemy exists
ZION’S POVI felt her slump against my back after pulling the trap from her legs. My eyes were trained on the open flesh and I was worried because it wasn’t healing. I brought the trap to my nose and took a sniff out of it and I could smell little traces of wolfsbane and poison on it. That’s why she wasn’t healing. I stood up and lifted her gently into my arms, taking extreme care not to touch the exposed wound where her leg was barely hanging onto her body. The wound of my stomach where she was clutching me had started to heal unlike hers but they were the least of my worries.I picked up the trap as well so that Elena will be able to look at it and find out what kind of poison was used on the trap. I know this wasn’t just a coincidence like I would have hoped but it wasn’t possible for traps meant for wolves laced with wolfsbane and poison to be lying around in the forest. The question I had was why and how come it was there because she didn’t plan on diverting, it happened in th

63: Lying to her
ZION’S POVContrary to what my mom had expected, Geneva didn't wake up at all during the day and all through the night. I was worried and called Elena back to our room but she assured me it was normal.Geneva was taking time to wake up because the poison took a lot from her and she was recovering slowly because she was still weak even though the poison had been flushed out of her system already.I know she was fine but I still couldn't find it in myself to sleep which was why I sat beside her all night long, not taking my eyes off her face for even a second so that when she shows the slightest hint of discomfort, I'll be there to soothe her fears. My little ball of fire was reduced to this because of a weakling that when I lay my hands on them, they would regret ever grooming the thought of laying a hand on her.I may be looking forward to her waking up but I hated what would happen when she does. I hate that I would have to lie to her and force her to believe everything was fine and

64: Bloody threats
It wasn't difficult to find Isaac since he lived his entire life in the training field. Ever since I woke up three days ago, I had a hard time falling asleep. I hated how I was always looking over my shoulders in fear that someone might jump and hurt me if I wasn’t conscious of my environment. The moment I woke up, I loved how relieved Zion was and how he bathed me in affection as if he was trying to take my mind off something and my instinct had been right. He told me that the traps were a mistake from him because he wanted to set an example for the rogues that kept trespassing into his land but I didn’t believe him. He was my mate and I could smell the lie off him but I didn’t want to point it out because I expected him to come clean to me soon which he still hasn’t and it made me pissed so I’ve been avoiding him. Things like this make me wonder if he trusted me at all or just saw me as an inconvenience. It made me wonder if the moon goddess made a mistake with our pairing but I k

65: Drifting apart
I was trembling as I stood frozen in front of my room. The sight before me was terrifying and a cold reminder that I was in danger and my attacker was very close by. My heart was pounding in my chest, my breathing hollow and ragged, and my eyes wider than they had ever been as I took it all in.After the first scream tore from my throat, I wanted to move, to say something or to look away but I couldn’t. I was paralyzed with terror.I was barely aware of the multiple footsteps rushing towards me and the chaos in Zion’s head as he constantly kept asking me if I was alright or if I was hurt was making me dizzy. He was panicking, I was scared, and the mate bond was on a tight strain.Zion was the first to get to me. He came to a stop in beside me, in front of the opened doors, panting and taking the stance of a man about to go to war. His mouth opened to ask me something but he saw the state of my room and he stepped back in shock before I knew it, he was bursting into the room while I st

66: The Cabin
I felt a tap on my shoulders and turned to see Gabrielle standing behind me with a sceptical look on her face. I didn’t know how to feel about her presence since we hadn’t exactly talked since I was made Luna and I knew she still disliked me for taking her supposed place. I didn’t know what to expect but I braced myself for anything and dropped the book I had been reading on the chair before giving her my full attention.“Can I help you with anything?” My voice came out harder than I intended it to and she flinched back in surprise but I didn’t try to apologize. I don’t think I owed it to her.“Sorry for disturbing you, Luna. I just wanted to have a word with you if you don’t mind?” I studied her and she didn’t have any trace of animosity on her face neither did she put a bite in her tone when she addressed me by my title.“Please call me Geneva. Luna makes me uncomfortable” I tell her before gesturing to the spot on the chair beside me “Please sit, you said you had something to talk

67: Alpha Benjamin
I felt a warm breath against my face followed by a light trail of kisses along my neck. His lips kissed from my neck down to the curve of my chest between my breast and I arched into his touch. His hands caressed my skin lightly, touching every inch of skin he could lay his hands on.I kept my eyes closed, loving the feel of his skin against my naked flesh. I sigh as he moved so he was hovering over me, between my legs, the contact of our lower halves connecting in a delicious friction.I bit back a moan when he moved his hips against mine and my eyes flew open to meet his dark ones peering down at me."Good morning, Sweetheart. How did you sleep?" The wicked smile on his face made me feel giddy all over like a young up.I looked up at him and smiled. I reached my hands up to cup his face and brought them down so I could kiss him before answering “I slept like a pup, thanks to you”His eyes glowed with my reply and he leaned down for another kiss, this one more passionate than the oth

68: Behind that door
“What? Your mate is in the pack house?” I asked shocked because at the moment no one was in the third floor or even in the pack house because they were either training or in school, in the case of the teenagers and I’m certain Elaine eating downstairs isn’t his mate or our parents.I didn’t get any reply from Benjamin. His nostrils flared as he walked around the room, sniffing at every corner and trying to figure out where the scent which I couldn’t smell was coming from. I thought about alerting Zion but decided against it since he was probably already on his way and I bet he would be excited to find out his friend had a mate in his pack.I was startled when he suddenly pushed me a little roughly from the door and stormed out of the room and into the empty hallway. He was getting violent and scary for me."Benjamin, please, calm down” I tried to calm him down but he wasn’t listening to me at all. He was going from door to door, sniffing through the door to see if he could locate his

69: A feral wolf
Zion clenched his fists as he stared at Benjamin in disbelief. He looked from me to Benjamin but the anger overshadowed his shock and soon he was shaking his head in refusal.“You don’t know what you are saying. There is no one there” He gritted out and his statement only made Benjamin angrier and soon he was pouncing on Zion but he was quicker and stronger. He had Benjamin pinned to the wall in seconds. He growled in Benjamin’s face who was frantically trying to get away from him and open the door. “Let me go, Zion. You can’t keep me from my mate. You know it is against the rules to stand between two mates”“I’m not keeping you from your mate but you can’t open that door” he growled, his voice low and menacing.Benjamin looked up at him with a desperate expression. "Please, Zion, you have to let me in. My mate is behind that door. I can feel her. She's in pain. She needs me."Zion snorted and shook his head. "You're delusional, Benjamin. There's no one behind that door but a monster.

70: He did this
I stared at Zion in disbelief as I tried to process his accusation. My heart was pounding in my chest and my ears were ringing loudly. All I could think of was why he would accuse me of such a thing. Did I make her that way? I have never met that wolf before. I hardly forget a face or a wolf form. Even if I had seen her when I was younger I would have been able to remember but I didn’t.I didn’t want to think of the fact that he had a sister that he hid from me. Was I not trustworthy enough to be told this? Why did he tell everyone I was his mate if he didn’t trust me? I don’t even think he had plans to tell me of his sister if Benjamin didn’t come and claim that she was his mate. I would have never found out about this.“What do you mean by that? How am I responsible for turning someone I’ve never met feral?” I demanded, needing an immediate explanation because I felt like I was going crazy with everything that I was feeling.Zion opened his mouth to speak but before he could utter a
