I honestly need to stop getting my heat at night. It was barely 3 am when I sat upright on my bed and not because I wanted to, but because of my heat. The sudden pain wrenched me from sleep and had me grabbing the sheets as pain attacked my abdomen. It was a familiar yet unwelcome feeling as my palms became clammy with sweat, and waves of pain kept coming without giving me any breaks. A small whimper escaped my lips, and my body trembled as the pain got worse with each passing minute. Through the endless waves of pain, I managed to block my mind link so Zion didn’t know. I didn’t want him to barrel into my room because I knew he would. He had insisted we move in together, but I had to make him understand that we need to take things slow so that I’m not pushed back to the beginning. He was my mate, and I didn’t want to keep holding the slaughter of my pack against him, especially when I didn’t know the full story, but my family had told me to move on and be happy. I needed them to Rest

My eyes flew open, and I shot upwards in bed. The first thing I noticed was that I was naked, but the covers, which were up to my neck, slid down slowly and pooled around my waist, leaving me exposed. I grab the sheets quickly and wrap them around my chest. My eyes danced lazily around the room, but there was no sight of Zion. Memories of last night rushed to my head, and my face heated up as the intimate moments replayed in my head. We've completed the bond now, and I can feel it buzzing through my entire being.I can feel Zion as if he were on me. It feels like we are one person. I was aware of the shower running in the bathroom and my body tingling with awareness. He was still here. I thought he was going to leave after last night, but he didn't.“You are awake” Zion’s voice brings me out of my thoughts, and I look up to see him coming out of the bathroom. He had a dark blue robe wrapped around his large frame. His wet hair fell to his face, almost covering his eyes. I remember clu

I've been falling asleep in Zion’s arms way more often than I would have liked, not that I was complaining. He came to my room every night after his long day, and I always opened my arms for him to fall into. I would hold him with his head on my chest, and we'll both fall asleep immediately or after doing some extra night activities that will leave me sated and in bliss. We usually woke up together or I before we went after our day, but today was different.I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night, a little disoriented. I looked around, confused, wondering why I was awake. I clean my eyes with the back of my palms to wipe the blurriness from the sleep to look around the room.I tried to think if it was a nightmare that startled me awake, but something from the corner of my eye caught my attention. Zion’s side of the bed was empty. I touched the indented area, and it was still very warm, which meant he had just got up. I listened to see if he was in the bathroom, but he wasn't, and

“Come in,” Zion called from the other side of the door, and I pushed it open. I decided to take their advice and confront him myself. This was risky because he might end up not telling me and move whatever he was hiding before I could find out, but I could no longer act as though I didn't care because curiosity was killing me.“Hey, sweetheart, do you need anything?” Zion stood up from his seat and walked around the table to place a kiss on my lips and forehead before drawing me into his arms.“Definitely not your kisses or hugs,” I laughed when he only squeezed me tighter instead of giving me a reply. “You need it, sweetheart,” I pulled away from him to flick him on his forehead.“Stop being a brat,” I mused.“Fine. What do you want? Is something wrong with you?” he asked.“No, I'm fine,” I pushed past him to take a seat, because somehow I felt I needed to sit to discuss this.“Something’s wrong?” He dragged the chair beside me so it was now facing me before sitting on it. “I don't

“Do you think I was too hard on him? I admit I may have gone overboard, but I couldn’t control myself. We had a fight earlier and then the incident happened. Everything was so overwhelming, and I took it out on him when he was just trying to help. But it was also his fault, he is keeping secrets from me, what did he expect? Am I wrong?” Emily sat on the chair with a wide smile on her face as she listened to me rant on and on about my feelings without interrupting, which I was more than grateful for. “I don’t even know what I feel. If it’s guilt or anger but anger towards who? Me? Zion? The girl who tried to poison me?” I paused pacing and took a seat beside Emily. I was so frustrated and didn’t know what to do. Zion was hurting wherever he was, and it was ripping me into two. I didn’t mean to, but I didn’t want to apologise too. “You need to take a walk. Walk with me, come,” Emily stood up from the bed and took my hand in hers. “Emily, this is not the time for a walk. I don’t
