ESCORTED BY a uniformed waiter, Evelyn ambled into the luxurious restaurant Matt had given her the address to. The elegant classical music playing faintly from the speakers filled the entire ambiance. When they got to the table for two Matt sat, he stood immediately closing the space between them and pulled her in a tight embrace. Then he pulled out the empty chair opposite his for her. "Thank you." Evelyn beamed as she sat down and glanced around in awe. The restaurant was beyond exotic. Even with the "Romantic dinner by candlelight" concept, its grandeur still reflected through the dim lights of the restaurant. The five-star rating that it was bestowed was no hoax. It took at least weeks to make a reservation in this place and it had taken Matt a day? He must had spend a lot on this dinner. After about twenty minutes, a few uniformed servers trooped in with their entrées, gingerly organizing them on the tabletop as a chef elucidated each delicious delicacy tha

"HOW COULD SHE?!" Jason growled aggressively as he paced the perimeter of the hall. He was fuming. Rage was an understatement of what he was feeling at the moment. He knew they were in a sham relationship but hadn't they agreed not to meet other people? Why was she so inconsiderate? It wasn't like him but he'd asked her a couple of times to go on a "friendly" date with him, he didn't want to be too forward to avoid making her uncomfortable around him but she'd always been busy with one thing or the other. He'd even planned to swallow his pride and ask her out today. He'd made the reservations and rehearsed the grand gestures, even though he knew she would probably decline. Jason had been all smiles when he spotted her walking out the entrance. He had almost hit the horn to draw her attention when he realized she was in a hurry to be somewhere. He wouldn't have been bothered if she was in a regular outfit, he would have just thought she was just going

WITH ROOF-RATTLING rage, Evelyn pounded behind the locked door and yelled at the top of her voice, "Open the door, Jason! Open the damn door!" She couldn't believe it. She couldn't believe Jason had locked her up. Was he out of his mind? Locking her up like this? What was she? His possession? She yelled, banging the door even louder but it all fell on deaf ears. "Damn you, Jason!" Evelyn spat, booting the door so hard that she felt her toes hurting within her heels. Then she remembered. OH MY GOD, MATT! She scurried back to the bed, flinging the duvet and pillows out of the way in the search for her phone. Then it clicked... she'd dropped it alone with her purse at the stairs when she'd been battling with Jason. "Damn it!" She muttered under her breath. She couldn't even at least call Doris to go pick Matt up. If anything ever happened to Matt, she wouldn't be able to forgive herself and most especially, JASON! How could he be so cruel? Tired out

DAMN! SHE HAD said that out loud. Evelyn's eyes locked with his eyes. Curiosity mixed with desire was glaring in those silver beads. "What do you mean by you can't get you pregnant again," Jason asked again, this time firmly. Anyone could tell he was unable to soften the edge in his voice. Instead, he simply lowered the volume. Even with the hazed sexual sensations Evelyn still felt all the way to the marrow of her bones, she knew it was a bad idea to tell him about their baby. She scrabbled her head for a believable lie. Evelyn swiped the beads of sweat that popped up along his brow. "Uh... I just meant was, I was on the pill..." she fibbed, lifting her neck to plant a kiss on one side of his mouth, distracting him. "There is no need to use a condom..." She planted another on his finely chiseled chin. "Unless that is, if you're not clean." "Oh, I checked recently and I'm clean," Jason managed as he was getting harder by the baby kisses she was gracing his face wi

"I THINK I Might Be A Sex Addict!" Evelyn whisper-yelled to Doris. Though everyone in "Pixie Pastries" was totally minding their business, she still looked around anxiously. Pixie Pastries was Doris' favorite place to be whenever she was bored, crave something sweet, and when she was off work. Which rarely happened given her career preference. Apart from the fact they had exotic, beautifully shaped pastries and refreshing drinks, they also render one of the best services in LA... For kids, that is. But there they were, two grown-ass adults, sitting tete-a-tete in unicorn-shaped chairs and tables, and stuffing their faces with rainbow-colored macaroons and chocolate ice cream plopped in a cute bunnie cup. Pixie Fairy was the last place Evelyn wanted to be at the moment, but she had no choice. Doris had literally dragged her out of work to snack with her. She'd succumbed to her constant plea even though she knew her current pregnant body would probably not dig

Jason couldn't stop himself from gazing around—hands on his midriff— from his great height at his beautiful handwork. Well, it was mostly Martha's and Flora's but it was all his idea anyway. So, yeah! He deserved the credit. Anyway... He'd intentionally chosen most of Evelyn's favorite dishes, down to the dessert. Garlicky roasted shrimp and peppers combined with creamy, fluffy arborio rice. Whole-wheat spaghetti adorned with grilled asparagus and scallions. Lemony salmon accompanied by savory pesto cauliflower mash that possessed tons of hidden protein from white beans. And finally, a mouthwatering seared lamb steak nestled alongside mustard potatoes and green beans. Every dish settled to die for in a gold, heart-shaped plate. And the dessert, A butterscotch pudding cheesecake pie, waited in the fridge ready to be devoured. At the center of the table, a Chateau De Fleur champangette sat in a gold luxury bucket crammed with ice, and by its si

THE DOOR SWUNG opened with Julia's astonished face greeting her. Slowly, she dragged her eyes down to her suitcase and then back at her. "Evy... What's going on?" Evelyn forced a smile. "Can I come in?" Julia tapped her forehead. "Oh, of course!" She muttered. "Where are my manners?" When they were finally inside, Evelyn said, "Would you mind if I stay here for tonight? I'd find somewhere else to stay tomorrow." Julia waved a dismissive hand. "Nonsense! You can stay here as long as you want. Mi casa es tu casa." Evelyn let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. "Thanks a lot." "By the way, you sounded upset on the phone. What's wrong? Did you have a fight with Jason?" Julia asked in a small, concerned voice, pulling her to sit with her on the couch as she scan her body for any form of bruises. "Did he hurt you?" She had called Julia last minute, cause she was the only one that was in the neutral in all this mess. She wouldn't want to go home or t

"GO AWAY!" The door slammed in Evelyn's face so hard that the pavement trembled under her feet like a minor earthquake. "I'm not leaving till you talk to me." Evelyn knocked on the door rapidly. "Come on, Dee! Open the door. Please let's talk." The door swung right open again in an instant, prompting Evelyn to flinch backward. Doris tucked her arms across her chest in a jerky motion. "Why? 'Cause the last time we saw each other you basically told me to fuck off. Remember?" She accused hotly and proceeded to give her her most withering look. "And you didn't even have the decency to call or text. Have you seen these eyes? I mean, I pretty much cried my eyes out that day... and the day after that, that I had to rest it out for a day before I could take any photoshoot—" "Dee..." "Don't Dee me! I'm talking to you. This is how this works." Evelyn placed a hand on Doris' shoulder. "I'm sorry. Give me a chance to speak to you, hmm?" "Fine! Come in." Doris st

AFTER HOURS of working on her latest designs, Evelyn decided it was time for a breather. She browsed the headlines and celebrity gossip news. Unconsciously, searching for any news pertaining to Jason, any form of relationship scandal he might have gotten himself into, wondering whether she had been replaced already, but there was none. Deep down, she was somewhat relieved by the idea he hasn't given up on her. He had called her numerous times these past few days but she had declined them all. Now, she found herself replaying the voicemails he had left her over and over again. "Evy, please just give me a call." "I'm really sorry. Please give me a chance to explain." "I'm not giving up on us, Evy. Never! So please answer the phone. Or at least, send a text." The most recent one sounded like he'd downed half the wine in his cellar or drunk his favorite bar, Dionysus out of stock. "Ev--y, I.. I... am an ass--hole, an I--diot and I don't de--deserve you.
