Lahat ng Kabanata ng Bidding for love: Kabanata 31 - Kabanata 40

John's POVI made myself comfortable in Matt's sitting room. I knew it was awkward because I didn't come with any bodyguard, but come on, he doesn't have the power to harm me. I must commend him for his eye for arts and aesthetics. He really put them to use while decorating his sitting room.A few minutes later, Matt walked down from the staircase into his sitting room. Surprisingly, he didn’t have any company. I expected him to have his bodyguards walk in with him or Rebecca.“You've got some nerves man” he said as he took a seat on the sofa parallel to where I was sitting.“I don't have anything to be afraid of, I am actually here for business” I replied bluntly. My expression remained cold as ever. I wasn't here for pleasantries, and I love the fact that he understood that as well.“I don't like the feeling I am having now. I sense that you came here with a hell load of trouble on your shoulder” he reached for his cigarette and lit it up using a lighter.“I haven't come here for tr

Sarah's POVI could hear muffled noises and groans from John's room. I felt so uneasy and uncomfortable sitting back and listening to John make all the noises. So I got up from the bed quickly and rushed to his room. I pushed the door open, and I found him breathing heavily and sweating profusely as well.I looked around in his room, but I couldn't find anybody lurking around in his room. It was only his personal bodyguard who had come to and checked on him.Without waiting for his permission, u slowly walked into his room while watching each step I took towards him.I took a seat next to him on his really enormous bed and tried to pull closer to him, but he stopped me. “What is this all about?” he asked with so much uncertainty and curiosity displayed all over his face.“I feel you need a rest. Come, let me rub your head a bit” I said. I didn't know I had gotten so courageous to talk to him. I mean, I needed a fortune teller to tell me what had happened to him. The look on his face s

John's POVI found it hard to believe what I heard . “Please, I'd love you to go through your records again. Something must be wrong somewhere” I said politely. The correctional officer obliged and went through the records again and still didn't come up with any good news.I had to accept the fact that Matt didn't make it to prison. He had proven to me that he was a really hard nut to crack. I returned back home, fully aware that a man who would kill me if he certainly had the chance was out there.“You look very worn out,” Sarah said as she walked into the sitting room. I was sipping a glass of wine, I had a lot going on in my head.“I am fine,” I replied. My reply was a definite and short one. I didn't want to engage in any conversation with her.“Talk to me, you look really stressed” she made an attempt to come close to me, but I quickly stopped her hand and restricted her from touching me.“I told you I was fine. I guess you need to return to your room. I am giving you a last warn

Sarah's POVMy ear was temporarily blocked. I couldn't hear properly for a while as a result of the slap. John's expression gradually became filled with anger. He tapped the man on his shoulder, forcing the man to turn. John decided to approach the matter calmly.“Please sir, I would love you to apologise to my wife this minute” he said calmly. The young man who he was talking to looked at him with disgust and turned. The message was crystal clear. He was not ready to apologise for any reason.I knew that John wasn't going to take this lightly. He tapped the young man again, and this time, as the young man turned, he gave him a firm punch on his face. I covered my mouth as I watched in awe. I have never seen John in this mood before. He can be violent sometimes, but right now, he is fighting like he was protecting me. The young man he had punched already had a little blood coming out from his mouth. That was when I realised that the punch was a very heavy one.“Who do you think you a

Sarah's POVThere he was, lying helplessly, in a pool of his own blood. The driver quickly rushed off his car to come and help him. The man who had stabbed John ran away and disappeared into thin air.“Do something please, be fast!” I lamented while pushing my hand on the place he was stabbed to reduce bleeding. His driver quickly called an ambulance, and they arrived in less than a minute.I followed him in the ambulance as they drove to the hospital. They pushed him in the bed as they rushed him into the emergency ward. I opted to follow him into the ward, but the medical officers asked me to wait outside.“Please ma'am, you'll have to wait at the reception. Let us do our work,” the doctor suggested. I was forced to return back to the reception, but my mind was filled with so much worry. I could not take a seat. I just kept pacing from one corner to another. Many thoughts kept going on in my head. Who are these people who keep on trying to hit on him? Will he be OK?For three hours,
