It was impossible for him to not notice for she had been in his arms countless nights and strangely enough his fervor for her never wavered. "Try these on!" Fighting a battle of anxiousness and uncertainty, Emma stepped into the changing room, knowing she had no other choice except to try on the dresses he had picked out. She reluctantly peeled off her clothes and slipped into the red dress first having a faint feeling that it wouldn't fit but she was pleasantly surprised when it did. Rather perfectly! Emma walked out of the changing room and found the lady standing near the huge mirror waiting for her. "Votre mari a un bon goût pour la mode," the lady began, surprised. "Cette couleur te va bien," With a smile, she added admiringly. However, a little frown sat between Emma's brows as she cluelessly looked at the woman with her big doe eyes. Taking note of Emma's confusion, the lady quickly added. "I-I mean he has great taste in fashion. This color... it looks good on you." Emma cou

"Is this a formal dinner?" Emma asked, looking at the magnificent building that stood before her oozing opulence. "No," Kevin looked at her, and suddenly the seemingly enormous space felt intimate as their eyes met. "Just the two of us," He whispered and slid his warm hand down the small of her back. Emma's breath hitched as Kevin's touch ignited something strange within her. His touch felt different. More passionate, yet warm. Possessive but gentle. As they walked inside, her eyes took in the luxurious surroundings. Crystal chandeliers glowed from above, intricate carpets adorned the floor, and opulent furniture filled every corner. The high-end hotel was draped in a soft, dim light, illuminating a table for two next to a huge glass window. The dinner table was spread with a white cloth and the cutlery was a silver alloy. Two wine glasses were placed in the middle of the table right next to the candle. And as he said, there wasn't another soul in sight. It's just the two of them.

After a night spent in a haze of anxiety and fear, the next morning dawned with a beaming sky and a soft breeze wafting in through her opened balcony window. Emma sat up in tangled sheets, her head in her hands, and fingers entwined in her hair. Her night had been a relentless cycle of dread and chaos, and though the morning sun was offering a sense of solace, she still couldn't quite shake the feeling of unease that had been plaguing her. His words continued to repeat in her head. He had promised to set her free, so why did he say he wouldn't let her go? Why would he even want to keep her when he’d already got what he wanted? No matter how hard Emma tried, she just couldn't make sense of it. Why was he so confusing?Huffing with desperation, she stared at the side of the bed that appeared devoid of life. The sheets normally crumpled when he was in the bed were perfectly smooth as if untouched. The drenched towel that he wrapped around her shivering body lay carelessly on the couch,

"I want everything perfect," Kevin growled into his phone, the warning in his tone unmistakable. "I will not tolerate any mistakes, John," he continued, voice deep and threatening. John, on the other end of the line, knew that Kevin's threat was far from idle. "Don't worry sir. It'll be just like you said,'' John assured him. He had worked for Kevin long enough to know he wouldn't accept anything but the best. Especially when it's about her. He had seen Kevin's meticulous attention to everything, every fucking detail when it came to her. From making sure she was well fed and taken care of, to going above and beyond for her loved ones. Kevin was always vigilant. His forethought in sending guards and maids to Mina's home likely saved her and her unborn child from a potential disaster yesterday. The guards quickly rushed Mina to the hospital when her husband had yet again gone out for the night. Fortunately, the doctors saved her before any serious damage could have been done to her

"Do you hate me?" Emma's heart jolted, and she felt a sudden tightness in her chest. The question pierced through like a knife, tearing open wounds that she had attempted to bury deep within her. Her gaze fixed blankly on him, the anguish, fury, and anxiety mingling in her eyes as she remembered all those countless nights she cried herself to sleep with the marks of ownership he left on her body and soul.He was right. She's like the moon, a stunning sight to behold, yet marked by scars. Big ugly scars that ran deep within. Serving as a constant reminder of the battles she's fought and the pain she's endured. Nonetheless, her beauty lies in her strength to carry on despite them.Silence hung between them, suffocating and unbroken. Her eyes flickered nervously while her breaths became shallow and jagged. Although she knew that the answer to his question was a "yes," a blunt brutal 'yes I do' yet she found herself incapable of uttering those words out loud. Was it out of fear or so
