ElsaMy alarm goes off and I can barely open my eyes. How had I gotten home? I don’t even remember walking home.Last night’s events were hazy. My neck aches like hell and I was still in yesterday's clothes.Crawling across the floor. I peer at myself in the mirror. My long dark hair was a mess. My ears were ringing from the music at the bar. Big dark rings sat under my baby blue eyes. I was a complete mess.Turning my head, I see two small red lumps on my neck. They were sore to touch. Glancing at my bedroom window I curse myself for leaving it open. I must have been bitten by some bug or something.Quickly rearranging the bandages around my waist, I pull a green sweater over my head and slip on a pair of dark blue jeans. I knew I had to hurry to make breakfast. Kyra was likely already mad that I disappeared last night, ruining her celebrations. I didn’t need her to start the day in a foul mood.My head was spinning from all the alcohol. It was only the second time that I have ever h

Elsa“How did you get here?” I groan. I could smell him before I even opened my eyes. The vanilla bean scent was welcoming, but also frustrating. How did he even find me?Nate stands over me, his white tee covered in my blood. At least the beatings had stopped. For now.“I can feel your pain. This isn’t the first time though, is it?” He hands me a glass of water and a couple of paracetamols. His brow creases into a frown. “Why didn’t you tell me?”“Does it matter?” I murmur, propping myself up. My sweater had been replaced with a tee, it was rolled up and tucked into my bra band. The bandages on show for all to see. “Did you undress me?”“You left me little choice. I couldn’t have you bleed out now, could I? Your other bandages weren’t doing much anyway.” He sounded annoyed. How could he be annoyed with me? I was the one who had been beaten. I was the one in agony.“Where are they?” I mutter, peering at my watch. A sharp pain shoots through my head. “I need to make dinner.”“That’s wh

Elsa“No.” He holds his hands up in front of me. “Lola was caught up in something when she was a child. She was bitten. My Dad found her and took her in.”“Your Dad found her?”“In wolf form. She was five.”“Five? As in five years old?” I was shocked.“If anyone can understand what you are going through, it’s her.”“Alpha Nate.” A chocolate haired girl comes running towards us. Her face red as she huffed and puffed. “I’m sorry I’m late. There was a problem with the water and….”“It’s fine Lola, I was just showing Elsa around.” He smiles sweetly at her. The same smile he gave me when he pulled me out of the road.I didn’t like it.She smiles at me, her dark eyes are welcoming. Yet I didn’t feel welcomed. I felt protective.“Lola is going to show you around while I catch up with my guards.”Lola wastes no time in linking her arm with mine. She turns me out the door, apologising when I wince at the pain in my ribs.“You’re so lucky.” She whispers as we get out the door. “Alpha Nate has b

Elsa“Inside!” He yells at me.“What are you going to do?”“It doesn’t matter. Lola, take Elsa inside.” His voice is low as he stares at the dead man. Mason's eyes shift between us. Lola quickly pulls me away.“What is he going to do?” I ask, hoping that she would give me a clear answer.“He thinks the man has been sent after you.” Her dark eyes refuse to meet mine. Her fingers fumble together as she bites her lip.“Me?”“It’s what you said. The man killed your father. Alpha Nate will most likely think he was here for you too.”“How would he know where I am?” I had an eerie feeling that I was being watched.Pulling the curtains closed, Lola raises an eyebrow at me.“Is it because Nate bit me?” I ask, nervously.“I don’t follow.”“My stepmother was disgusted by Nate biting me.”“He bit you, because you are his mate. That has nothing to do with the dead human.”“He was the same man that killed my father. Maybe he got lucky and found the pack.”She shrugs her shoulders at me. “The man kn

ElsaIt had to be lies. He would have told me. He told me everything. Nate tightens his arms around me. But I see how they all look at me. A look of pity.“That can’t be true. I knew my dad.”A few moments later Brant comes back into the room. He nods his head at Vella.“My Beta has just confirmed it is true.”It was too much. I felt sick. Everything I had known was a lie.“What is even more fascinating is you.” Vella is smiling“Me?”“You’re mother, you were told she died. Correct?” How did he know that?“During childbirth. My dad told me. Why? What do you know about my mother?”The more the conversation went on, the sicker I felt. I was certain I was going to vomit all over Nate.“She’s alive.”I had heard of stories where people felt like everything around them stopped. Like the whole world had come to a standstill. I didn’t imagine it to be like this. The silence was loud. I could hear my heart thudding like it was in my head. My stomach churned as I fought to keep the food inside
