"Alastair wishes to see you,""What does he want?" a woman spat, her eyes filled with dark and cold rage.In an unfamiliar place, I found myself standing in a serene room adorned with coats of fur and carpet lining the dresser and flooring. A sudden sharp pain struck the back of my head, and before I could comprehend it, a figure emerged—a brooding man whose presence exuded great intimidation. He clenched his teeth, fists curling into a ball. His tensed muscles portrayed him as a short-tempered man. My gaze involuntarily shifted to the woman he was glaring at, and I froze when I recognized who she was. Mother…“What do you want!?”I watched as the man strode forward, and in a split jarring second, he slapped her in the cheeks. “You think you could escape me?”Mother kicked the man's knees, but to her dismay, he didn't flinch. He was consumed by rage and dangerously close to causing her harm. Filled with anger towards this man, whoever he was, I instinctively reached out to help he

.2I felt a tinge of sadness upon learning about Knight's pack. Unlike the typical werewolf pack, his was predominantly composed of omegas, or in other words, weaker werewolves. If Teresa hadn't shared this information with me, I might not have noticed. We were currently inside my assigned tent, and while Teresa was occupied with her tea, I discreetly observed Knight's people. In a corner, I noticed other disabled women engaged in knitting. They sat together, chatting among themselves, and it took me a moment to realize that they couldn't walk. I had initially judged them too quickly, assuming they harbored animosity toward me and were reluctant to join the crowd. Among the women, some children were less likely to develop and enhance their physique due to being born sick or having a terminal disease. Others were widowed or permanently disabled as a result of the war. For example, there was Aurora, who became a widow after her husband was sent to the war at the Southern border, and h

Knight wasn't joking when he expressed his desire to prove himself. Not a single morning, afternoon, or evening passed without him sending me flowers. Initially, it was endearing, effectively keeping my mind occupied with thoughts of him. However, given the current dire situation we were facing, receiving flowers seemed impractical. Moreover, I couldn't help but wonder where he was obtaining these blooms.I clenched the pitcher in my hand as I distributed rations and water to the pack warriors engaged in training. They had been tirelessly maintaining control over the mountain, even from its outskirts. Pouring them tea infused with medicinal herbs that would significantly enhance their stamina and energy, I marveled at the unexpected role I found myself playing in providing medical assistance. The mere thought of it tightens my heart. The High Priestess and the temple—the memories of that place still hold a heavenly quality for me. It felt like a sanctuary, a haven of peace. The peo

I did what I always did, more likely the only thing I could do.I ran. I ran without turning my head. Without much care for the blood that had been shed. I couldn’t stop myself from worrying about the pack’s welfare. The number of soldiers on our side is waning and it wouldn’t take long before a fleet of Eastern guards would take all of us captives, much worse subject to trial and perhaps death. If Knight needed the help, then this is the only possible way I could. I had to at least warn others or maybe they are already warned…Midway through my trek, I realized that they share one common ability and that is they could hear each other’s voices and communicate through their mind-link. Maybe they were alarmed and informed but then again, the distance and steepness of the area might obtrude all sorts of communication. I had no absolute clue as to what I could do. The most plausible action was to maneuver amidst the strife and avoid harm’s way. Each foothold became heavy as snow dips

It took me a while to fully process what I had just learned. His words echoed in my ears, casting a shadow over every corner of my mind and emotions. How? How is it possible? A myriad of questions swirled in my head, and none of the answers I could conjure seemed acceptable. Could he really be my father? I used to believe it was the man I saw in my mother's memories—Leo. Honestly, I never anticipated Alastair's involvement to be this profound. Somehow, my mind struggles to comprehend the idea. I can't fathom the truth if he is indeed my father. It just doesn't seem plausible. He won't be...everThe lingering shadow of Alastaire's presence still cast a pall over my mind after his unwelcome visit. However, he didn't depart without leaving a message: 'Tomorrow, you will be meeting someone. Bring your best behavior.'Naturally, I was terrified—terrified of the person I would meet. The horrors of the past and the recent attacks weighed heavily on my mind. And Teresa... how could I forge
