*** Silas POV ***  Sitting on the back porch, I looked out into the forest behind us. I had a drink in my hand as my elbow rested on the wood arm of the outdoor lounge chair. Taking a sip, my lip curled up for a moment before it burned down my throat and sat warm in my stomach. My head was already feeling lighter as the sky boasted colors of pink, purple, orange, and yellow.Today had been hectic. Originally, we started rebuilding the school, thinking that we would have it done through the summer months and maybe into the school year for a couple of months. Nothing terrible and we could have the kids work around the construction.Three whole years it took to finally cut the ribbon. We’d run into every single kind of issue imaginable. Foundation was crumbling, plumbing wasn’t up to code and some roots from trees nowhere near the school had filled the pipes. There was an issue with

I walked into the hotel we were all staying at for the Alpha Conference. Around us, there were Alphas, Betas and the occasional Gamma talking amongst each other. The hotel this time around was far fancier than the one we had previously. It was the one time every Alpha showed up in one place, no matter where they were from. Otherwise, the Alpha King would send out his own knights to “check-up” on your pack.It was boring, stupid, but it set the stage for the coming years on what we were focusing on as a race. There was also a chance to network and allies would have separate meetings over the coming years as well. Since it was hard for us to be together like this. Every year was too much, and five seemed like a good chunk of time to go over.I left Dean, Ida, and Wyatt in charge of the pack. Sam had been right for my sanity. I didn’t want to be stuck with one of them. There was no way I was going to this thing alone, either. They could go off together a

Nate chuckled, mostly to himself. “They are Alpha’s through and through. As you can see, I didn’t get a single drop of my DNA in there. Landon is older by a few minutes, and he takes charge most of the time. Amelia is quiet, but she is very observant. Sometimes scarily so.”Charles fell back against the seat. “Well…fuck me…twins. Isn’t that rare?”I answered my mate. “Extremely. For a regular she-wolf, it’s rare. For a male Omega, even more so. You aren’t even an Omega so I don’t really…”“Aelia messed with our bond when she died. In her letters, she said there were some repercussions to her weaving her own bond into ours. That might be it, but as she said, it’s all conjecture at this point.” Nate took a sip of his tea. “They are so wonderful. They make it so easy on me. I don’t know how I got so lucky with them.” His eyes wer

I sat in the meeting with my arms crossed over my chest. Charles was sitting next to me, playing the middleman between Silas and me. Despite warning us about not being hungover, we had to peel his ass off the floor of his hotel room bathroom. I’d kicked three bottles that were just left on the floor before I could even step in. He looked disheveled and hungover. My eyes lifted to see Nate on the other side of the large meeting room. He was sitting next to Alpha Jacob, smiling and talking to some of the surrounding Alphas. I’d seen him in action at work a few times. Seeing him like this, in all these meetings, just drove home how much he was meant to be leadership. When I first joined our leadership, I pegged Nate as an extrovert. He was always at the center of everything for the pack. It made sense when everyone called him the face of our leadership. Except over the course of a couple of years, I realized that was false.Nate himself was actually very introverted. He preferred the comp

Alpha Jacob and I sat in the last meeting of the conference. We were flying out straight after it, headed back home. I glued my gaze to the floor as I took slow, calculated breaths.“You alright, Nathaniel?” Alpha Jacob’s voice broke my thoughts.“Yes, I’m fine. Missing home. Missing the kids.” I flashed him a smile, but I could tell he wasn’t buying it.He leaned in. “Did that Alpha of yours say something to you? Or his underlings? Need me to pummel them?”I chortled and shook my head. Looking up, the meeting hadn’t started yet and not all the Alphas were here. There was a glaring hole where Silas, Sam, and Charles were assigned to sit.“No, he didn’t. It’s nothing. Really. Let’s just get this meeting over with and go home.”He nodded and leaned back, dropping his inquiry. It had actually been nothing. I woke up this morning to nothing. An empty bed, a
