Chapter Eleven
Eva's hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as she drove along the open road. Her mind was consumed with thoughts of her father, and the rest of the pack and the uncertain future that awaited them. The rain started to fall again, the drops hitting the windshield and distorting her view. She squinted through the downpour, struggling to see clearly. Suddenly, a blinding flash of headlights sliced through the rain-soaked darkness. Eva's heart raced as she slammed the brakes, but it was too late. The screech of tires and the sickening sound of impact reverberated through the air. Everything went black. When Eva opened her eyes, she found herself in a sterile hospital room. The soft beeping of the machines and the fluorescent lights overhead assaulted her ears and eyes. Her head throbbed with pain, and her body felt heavy and sore. She tried to move, only to be met with discomfort and the realization that she was hooked up to various tubes and monitors. "Eva!" The familiar voi

"Wait a moment. She is in grave danger." Gabriel's voice suddenly echoed around Sienna and Jason. They both turned to see Gabriel hobbling after them. "What is he doing?" When Eva finally woke up, she found herself in a different room. The walls were white, the air was sterile, and a strange man stood over her. He introduced himself as Dr. Matthews, a psychiatrist who specialised in treating patients with memory loss."I will be here to help you, Eva. Don't you worry?" He smiled at his patient and watched as she dug her nails into the pillow resting on her lap. Eva felt a chill run down her spine as she realised what was happening. She had been drugged and taken to this facility against her will. Her baby and siblings were nowhere to be found, and she had no idea where they were or what was happening to them. She needed to get away from here and find them. If only Sebastian was here. None of this would have happened. She felt anger towards whoever had caused this to happen. She knew it made her sound crazy, but someone was behind all this, and she had no clue who. Dr Matthews explained to Eva that she had suffered a severe head injury in the car acc

Eva's heart pounded as she listened to the woman's words. Fear and confusion swirled inside her. How could these people know so much about her? What did they want? "Who are you, and what do you want from me?" Eva demanded to know. The woman smiled sinisterly, relishing in Eva's panic. "You are special, Eva. And we need you to fulfil your destiny." Eva's mind raced, trying to make sense of it all. "I don't understand. What destiny? I want to find my family and go back to my normal life. Just go away." The woman's smirk widened. "Oh, but your normal life is long gone, Eva. You were chosen for something greater. Something that will change the world as we know it." Eva's eyes widened in disbelief. This had to be some sick and twisted joke. She couldn't possibly have any connection to world-altering events. "I don't believe you. Let me go!" Eva struggled against her captors, desperate to escape the clutches of this madwoman. The woman's expression turned dark, and their s

The door flew open, and Eva looked up, half asleep; she was beyond exhausted, but the lady was back. She had a smirk on her face as she looked down at her prisoner. “Are you ready to cooperate?” she insisted, but Eva did not respond. “You know that you will not be able to get out of here, silly girl. Your Wolf and powers are useless to you now. Your mate will never want you again.” she chuckled with amusement. She stood with a hand on her hip and flicked her long brunette hair from her face as she walked away. “Wait. Is Sebastian alive? Why can't I feel him?”Eva called out desperately with tears streaming down her face, but the woman slammed the door shut behind her. Now Eva was alone and unsure how to get out of this place. Her mind raced as she tried to piece together what the woman had said about her family and mate. Was Sebastian still alive? Had he been captured as well? So many questions. She had thought he was dead. She missed him so much that her family, the entire pack. S

After a few moments, Clara's eyes fluttered open, her gaze fixed on Alpha Duane. "I have a sense of where Eva might be," she stated with certainty. “Go ahead.” The Alpha was listening. She cleared her throat before continuing. All eyes were on her. "There's a hidden facility near the hospital. It seems to be where she was taken." Alpha Duane's eyes narrowed, and he slammed his fist into his desk, causing Sienna to jump in fright. Jason held her to his chest to calm her down, and she smiled at him gratefully but remained silent. “We'll go there immediately," Alpha Duane declared, turning to address Jason. "Get your gear ready. We have a rescue mission to undertake." “Wait. Let me go in there and fetch her, Alpha Duane. I can handle it. If you're warriors go in, it could make things worse. Plus, she knows me better than any of you.” Gabriel suddenly spoke up, and Alpha Duane raised his eyebrows, thinking for a moment. “Bring her to me safely, or you will suffer the consequences

Amelia smiled warmly at his question. "We start by finding your child and keeping them safe. We gather our allies and prepare for the fight against the Shadowscale.
