I was shocked and it seemed my brain stopped processing because of what happened to Adeline. I watched her sleeping in the bed peacefully. She continued murmuring about her father and that's what made my heart shatter.I thought she was happy being with me but seeing how desperate she was to see her father, I felt all this time she wanted to know him. I heard the door open and saw Adam walking towards me. He seemed severe as he put his bag in the vacant seat.“Where's Terry?” I asked, curious why he was alone.“She bought a meal for us.
