Zara hurried from the back garden to the hotel lobby, her heart feeling a little shaky. Right then, she heard the beautiful sound of a piano playing with such passion.Without thinking, she looked over and saw someone playing the piano in the lobby. The music was so moving it drew a crowd of people who stopped to listen. Some were even filming it.Zara moved closer to listen. The pianist was playing the most exciting part of 'Time' from 'Inception', a song Zara really liked. She remembered back in middle school, she was running to the high school to look for Shawn and heard this song for the first time in the music room. It had caught her attention right away. She had been in such a rush to find Shawn that she did not see who was playing... This time, she peeked through the crowd to get a look at the pianist. There was Yosef, sitting on the piano bench. He was playing the piano for everyone to hear. His eyes were lowered, and his long fingers danced over the keys, making the mus

After hanging up the phone, Sarah straightened up her things. Right on time, she knocked on the door next door. The door was not shut all the way and swung open with a gentle push.Stepping inside, she found Yosef lounging on the couch with an open bottle of whiskey on the table. She quirked an eyebrow. "Mr. Webb, did you ask me here just to share a drink with you? I went to all the trouble of putting on makeup, spritzing on perfume, and slipping into my cutest dress, thinking we were going to have a romantic date."Yosef looked up, his eyes lazily drifting over her messy hair and bare face. He did not even bother to glance at her snug down jacket. He silently took another sip of whiskey.Describing his relationship with Sarah was not something he could do in just a few sentences. She settled onto the other couch, crossed her legs, rested her elbow on her knee, and propped up her chin. She watched him with a curious gaze."Feeling down? What's up? Did Ms. Lowry upset you? I saw

Zara's voice was calm. "You seem to really like talking about your private life with me. Ever since we met on the plane, you've been sharing a lot. "People usually keep their private stuff to themselves, but you're always ready to tell the world. Do you just like the attention?"Sarah's smile was sly. "Does it get to you? Because of what's going on with Mr. Webb? Are you jealous? You were with him for three years, and you guys were so close. You can't just ignore that"Zara did not fall for it and just said her piece, "If that's the case, maybe you should talk to a therapist. Not noticing how this affects others can be a real problem."If you're trying to make me feel like we're competing, or if you're just trying to brag or bug me, it's really not necessary."Sarah's smile slowly faded."I'm actually mad because your attitude isn't professional, and it's causing problems for me too. "I worked all night on a plan to make today's work go smoothly, not to deal with whispers behi

Zara froze for a second and then looked up at him. "So what? They're not that hard to find. Every big hospital has them.""Different hospitals have different doctors, and they all have different results. What did your doctor say the chance of infection was? 50%?" Yosef asked without much emotion. "Well, my doctor says it's 10%."Zara gasped. Just 10%!Sharon's doctor, a top director in Starville, could only get the infection risk down to 50%.Yosef's doctor could boost her mom's survival rate from half to 90%.90%!"Ms. Lowry, I'm not trying to threaten you or stop you this time. I'm actually giving you another choice." Yosef let go of her. With a tap of his long fingers, the elevator doors swung open again."It's up to you."Zara stood alone in the elevator, her hands automatically balling into fists.Yosef acted like he was giving her a choice, but she really did not have one.Sometimes, she truly could not stand some of the things Yosef did.He was ignoring Beatrice, and

"Did I ever say I needed you to meddle in things for me?" Yosef did not stick around to argue. He rushed out of the stairwell. He pulled out his phone to call his driver.Sarah ran after him. "You don't get it. Women love a hero's rescue. Wait another hour until she's all alone and frightened before showing up. She'll melt and take you back for sure.""Come to the hotel entrance to pick me up," Yosef said and quickly hung up. He pushed past Sarah, who was in his way, and hit the down button on the elevator. "You need to learn some manners. Tomorrow, you're going back to your parents."Sarah's face went pale. "I'm trying to help you! How can you be so ungrateful?!"Yosef just stared at the elevator doors, his face cold and distant.Sarah, worried he might actually send her away, protested, "I wouldn't have gone through all this trouble if it wasn't to help you!"When the elevator came, Yosef stepped in without a word and headed down."Drive to the eastern woods," he said....
