Chapter 21 They're my children

Daisy POV The ride back to the mansion was stiffening and silent. Asher kept glancing at me with blood-sucking eyes, but he didn't utter any words until the car stopped at the front of the mansion, and we all got down. Soon, the door opened and Stella came rushing towards us. She looked like she was almost about to cry from losing everything. “Take your children and go inside.” Asher got down from the car, telling Stella, but my children ran and hid behind as if they were afraid of her. The color from Asher's eyes drained, and he stared at me as though I were planning to kidnap the children away from their mother. “I'm not letting them go with her.” I cried out. “Please just let me leave.” “With someone's child?” He marched towards me and was about to hit me, but he hung his hand in the air, seeing the kids behind me. “Please, Daisy, let's settle this amicably and give me back my children.” They're not your children. I wanted to scream at her, but I held myself back. What would

Chapter 22 She's our Mommy

Daisy POV “Go!” As he didn't want to hear what I had to say before he ordered. Immediately, my instincts kicked in, the strength I never knew I possessed filled me as I picked myself off the floor and I started running. And as if I was cursed by the Moon Goddess, the wind howled and the rain poured down, soaking my clothes and chilling me to the bone. I ran as if my life depended on it. Of course, it depended on my survival, but I doubted I would come out of this alive. I continue screaming as I run, the wolves hot on my heels running. I hear their growl behind me. I managed to turn my head and I see a pair of glowing yellow eyes ragging to attack me. My entire body was coated with fear as I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach, I could hear the pounding of my heart, as dreadful goosebumps spread across my entire skin. I hadn't made it half close to the cottage when one of the wolves' sides blocked me in the front, snarling and baring its teeth, the other standing behind me. I bec

Chapter 23 I can't let you go

Asher POV “What!” “Yes, I have loved the Alpha for five years. I even had to start working here as a maid, but since he never looked at me for once, I decided to leave with my feelings and heartbroken but when I came back here, and he started caring for me thinking I was the mother of your children I was overwhelmed and wanted more. I wanted him all to myself and to achieve that I will always need your child around and continue to be their mother, so you don't expect me to sit back and let you run away. Then what will become of me after you must have gone?” She screamed, her pace increasing with every word she uttered. “And that's the reason you decided to tell him of my plan to leave?” “Yes, I…” Before she could make a complete sentence, I heard a loud slap from inside the room then followed by Daisy's thunderous voice. “From now on, I will start being the mother of my children. Just leave quietly because I was the one who put you into this mess. I will face the punishment from

Chapter 24 What my body desire

Asher POV The following day was Monday and, just like every other day, I decided to take the children to school before heading back to my company. “Sir, aren't you going to find out more information about those children?” Zack, my beta, asked me from across the front seat where he was driving. After studying my expression in the car mirror, he sighed and focused back on the road. After about a few minutes of thinking about it over and over again, I came up with a final decision. “I don't want to, I want to trust my wife. If she says her ex-husband is the father, let's leave it like that. So long I'm close with the children and always happy to see them, I can still be their father even if I'm not biologically, and she's not ready to let anyone find out he's the father of the children and I don't want to violate her privacy and just want to trust her.” I said to Zack, and that was just the simple truth. I would rather not dig too much into her past and find out what will break my he

Chapter 25 Protecting what's mine

Daisy POV Having to work under Asher as his secretary is harder than I thought. I don't know if it's because he hates me or that's just who he is, but the real fact is that I don't have a second to rest being his secretary. He always sends me on errands as if I'm a maid. I don't even know which is harder between being his wife and his secretary. “Stop here,” I said to the taxi driver after we got to the front of the address sent to me for the photoshoot. I came down from the car wearing a short gown. I'm almost running late. I received news five days ago from the hospital that my father hadn't paid a dime for my mother's hospital bill and, according to our agreement, he was supposed to pay for it if I agreed to marry Asher. Since he had refused to pay for it, I was going to do it on my own. I won't ask Asher for money, so luckily for me, I got a job to come shoot a photoshoot in a big company just for today and the payment is huge. Asher went on a business trip two days ago, so it

Chapter 26 Beg

Daisy POV “D… Daisy… please help…help us…please save us from him.” “Father, please calm down,” I said over the phone, getting irritated at how he acts and begged me for mercy, as if I owned the time to his life. He's always running to me for help whenever he's in danger, but when things are rosy for him, he always acts like a weapon fashioned against me and even threatens me with my mother's health, a woman who has been his wife for over 20 years. Gosh! Why are men so ungrateful? “Daisy… please help me to plead with the Alpha King… tell him I'm sorry, … I don't want to lose everything.” I was confused, but I knew things must have gotten out of hand for my father to sound this scared. He has invited me to his pack for the hundredth time since three days ago, but I refused because I'm still angry at him and don't want to see him. When he was becoming too persistent, I decided to speak with him on the phone and this is where we are. “Father, please calm down. You asked me to beg As

Chapter 27 I'm the Alpha King

Daisy POV “Mommy, I don't want to go to school,” Juniper said before me as I got her dressed for school. This is the fifth time she has been telling me this, and I wondered what was wrong. Today is their presentation, a day they have been eagerly waiting for, but I was surprised when she didn't want to go. She was looking so moody and out of place. “Tell me baby what happened, why aren't you interested in going?” I asked as I helped her to pack her hair with ribbons while the rest of the children waited for us downstairs. “I don't want the students to laugh at us. I don't want them to call you names, Mommy, like they always do to me.” “What?” My brow arched in astonishment, and I made sure I sat down properly beside her. “Tell me, Juniper, what's going on?” “I don't want to go because everyone will come with their Daddy and Mommy but…but I don't have a Daddy.” Pain swelled through my heart for making my baby cry this way. Yes, they always asked about their father countless tim

Chapter 28 His ex-wife

Daisy POV “I Am THE ALPHA KING. Ruler of the seven packs in Arizona combined.” “I… I…” his eyes darted around the hall searching for confirmation, seeking reassurance that what he just heard was not a figment of his imagination. He clamped his hand over his mouth, eyes widened in disbelief when his doubt was confirmed by the horrific look on everyone's face with their heads bowed when Asher declared himself with his Alpha's voice. “My…husband just moved back to Arizona, please forgive him, he didn't know you're the Alpha King.” “You're only apologizing now because you don't want me to discipline your husband, but you never cared to apologize when your son bullied my daughter, thinking she was a nobody. But now you're quick to apologize when it comes to your husband, who said that the stronger should dominate the weaker. Well, that's exactly what I'm going to do now.” Asher suddenly turned to Zack, who had been standing behind him for this while. “Give me about him.” “His name

Chapter 29 The cursed Alpha

Daisy POV “She's my ex-wife.” A low, metallic voice came from behind me, and I quickly turned to see who it was. I almost lost my balance, but managed to steady myself by grabbing onto a nearby table. “Your ex-wife?” I asked, my mind reeling with questions. “And my mate.” He added. I guess there's more to Asher than I ever knew. I'm not the only one with secrets to keep. He entered the room slowly, his imposing presence filling the space around him. He pulled out a chair and gestured for me to sit. He leaned against the wall, folding his arms and looking at me intently, as if about to tell me a story from long ago. He looked at the picture of his ex-wife on the wall, then walked to the window and opened it, letting in a breeze of fresh air to circulate the stuffy room. “She's the only person who can break my curse.” “What do you mean?” I suddenly stood up from my seat, unable to make meaning of what he just said. Instead of walking over to him, Asher came to me and helped me sit

Chapter 30 You're fired

Daisy POV “You're the…” “Mommy.” “Mommy.” The cry of Juniper broke through the silent room and when I turned around, I saw her in tears. “I can't sleep, Mommy, I saw a monster eating my Daddy in my sleep.” “I will tell you tomorrow.” I turned back to Asher, but he's already gone. “Don't worry, Mommy will chase away all the monsters, let's go and sleep.” I carried Juniper to my room. ********* I made sure I put a double check on my outfit today to make sure I'm looking perfect for the day ahead. Today, we're having a meeting with an international delegation from another city. This was a project that Asher had been pursuing for a long time and the people have finally decided to sign the documents today which is worth billions of dollars. According to Asher, this is the most lucrative contract that the company would be securing in history, so it means a lot to him. “Is everything set for the meeting?” Asher asked, organizing some files and at the same time tapping away on his com
