LUCAS POV Jack and I spoke for a long period of time after the gala with Jack telling me Vera is very suspicious so now we're keeping a close eye on her without her knowing.“This is really beautiful, I think you should take it.” She voiced out as Jack scoffed. We've been reading her body language and she seems like she's gonna faint anytime soon.“Are you okay?” Jack asked, looking at her skeptically as I almost chuckled.“Yeah, I'm ….. I'm good, I'll be outside.” As she walked out, Jack shook his head.“What do you think?” He asked and I shrugged.“She's clearly not interested in any of this but we have to keep a close eye on her, just when we thought we've gotten rid of Leah, another one decided to show up.” I scoffed.“Nothing is ever going to happen between us, the earlier she knows this, the better for her.”“Let's get out of here.”“Wait.” I said and he turned to look at me.“Speaking of Leah, haven't seen or heard anything about her in a while, it's strange because she sudden

MAX POVI paced to and fro in my house, thinking of the possible ways to make sure I get back into Allysa's life and to make sure I get closer to her.I picked up my phone and paced to and fro before moving over to the door. “I have to do this now.” I muttered and opened the door before stepping out. It's been a week and we've been living like strangers with just the occasional good morning and good day, that's not the deal or else I'm in for it.As I approached her door, so many things ran through my mind. What if she overheard my conversation with Leah on that christening day? What if she knows what I'm doing secretly but decided to be discreet about it and avoid drama? Is that the reason for her sudden change in attitude? I asked myself before knocking lightly.“You can't do that!” I heard Allysa scream at Ariel as I rolled my eyes.“Coming right now, who's it?” She asked.“It's Max, may I come in?” I asked and she hesitated for a while before opening for me to come in.“Hi.” I sai

LEAH'S POV “I should know the lady I'd love to take as my girlfriend and intended wife, don't you think?” He asked and I smiled.I guess my mom was right about what she said, they must be suspicious about me and of course they'll try to find out everything they can from me.I needed to act fast and smart so I smiled and picked my fork up.“Ummm where do I start from? My childhood was so nice you know coming from a rich family, one whose influence on the society was vital for it's growth. I was groomed to become the perfect daughter of course I have a brother and he shoulders all the responsibilities.” The lie came out so smoothly and I was really glad about it.“You have a brother, hmm must have been nice having a younger brother, a sibling to share your pain and joy with.” I smiled, looking dreamily at the sky.“We had our differences but it was worth it, that's what siblings do, that's why we stand for each other even in trying times.” He nodded and poured more drink into my cup.

LEAH'S POV (Flashback)I woke up on my bed, in my bedroom, confused as any other thing. “What's going on?” I asked myself, scratching my head as though the answers were gonna fall out one way or the other.I got down from the bed and paraded barefoot to the bathroom to wash my face. Suddenly, I started having flashbacks of my date from last night.“What exactly happened?” I asked myself, hitting my head lightly as I heard my door opening. “Leah, Leah.” She called but I was hell bent on recalling what happened last night.I rushed out of the bathroom, walking up to mom. “Mom, how.. how did I get to my bedroom last night? How did I get home? I don't recall driving and I also __”“You definitely didn't drive down here yourself and of course you were wasted so you do not remember anything.” Mom said as I froze.“I think I blew my cover mom I think they know who I am right now and it's really bad, mom what should I do? I hope they_”“I warned you, I told you not to go for that dinner dat

ALLYSA'S POV “What!” I screamed, gaining the attention of everyone in the boardroom as I closed my eyes. I took the phone away from my ear and mouthed a ‘sorry’ to everyone before walking up to Mr Hector.“Can I have a word with you?” I asked and of course he had a scowl on his face. “It's your first time so you're pardoned.“My daughter fainted and__”“Oh my that's really sad, go on go get her.” He said with tender emotion in his eyes. It made me wonder if he'd ever lost someone close to him or something.“I'd love to go with her.” Victor said, walking out of the boardroom. “Of course, of course. You can take the day off too.”“I'm really scared Victor, she looked so healthy and was really okay when I left her this morning so what could be the issue? What's the reason?” I asked, following him to his car.We got in and hit the road immediately. “Calm your nerves down, do not think too much about it. She'll be okay maybe you fed her with something she doesn't like or something she's a
