Chapter 40
ANGEL Rose was the most precious little one. Goddess, she was so damn adorable. I felt for Anthony and Rose. Their situation was unique and one that I could appreciate. He took her in as his own, giving her the love and support that she needed. As someone who was adopted, I could say with certainty that blood did not make family, but the heart did. People often said that you could not choose your family, but you could. I could not choose whether or not I shared Josef’s DNA, but I did choose to not claim him as kin. In the same way, the Vesters were my family. It was funny how fate worked out. The Gods certainly knew their way around the gameboard, arranging people so that everything worked out like it should. Anthony had Rose and was worried that a mate would not accept her and him together. Similarly, Sasha had her son and felt the same way. They were exactly what the other one needed. I had a great feeling about them. We took Anthony and Rose to their suite so that their luggage

Chapter 41
ANGEL “I’m sure you have plenty of work to do just like I will be. It’ll be okay. We can spend a few hours apart,” I told Grant who had an adorable pout on his face. I was going to be spending some time with Elle to discuss this whole Luna gig. It was hard to wrap my head around the fact that I would be inducted as the next Luna after graduation. Was I ready for such a responsibility? I sure as hell did not feel like it. “Yes, doll, we will. How am I supposed to be separated from this angelic face right here?” he asked as he cupped my cheeks. “It’s so kissable.” He pecked kisses all over my face before taking my lips in a passionate kiss that left me needing and wanting more. It took all of my strength to pull away from that toe-curling kiss. I was totally convinced that their lips were made of magic. “It’s not like I want to be away from you either, but we have to be responsible adults.” I heard Gabriel snort at my statement. My eyes narrowed at him. That jerk just crossed his a

Chapter 42
GRANT Angel was spending time with Mom to learn Luna duties. She did have a good point that my brother and I were raised, knowing that we would become Alphas. We were trained since we were pups in how to run a pack. That did not mean that we were truly ready or anything. Dad became Alpha when he was eighteen when his own father was killed. It was supposedly because of a rogue attack but turned out that it was one of many traitors that the pack had back in the day. Identifying and handling traitors was actually one of our biggest Alpha lessons. Gabriel and I knocked on Dad’s office door. It swung open to reveal Uncle Apollo. He gave us a regal wave to enter the office. He was one of our favorite uncles. Uncle Dante was number one, but Uncle Apollo was a very close second. “Welcome, Alphas. Come on in. We’ve got gifts,” Dad said, putting his arms behind his head and leaning back in his chair. We flopped down in the chairs that sat in front of his desk. Our uncle poured two glasse

Chapter 43
ANGEL Kalen called me to see if I was free. Apparently, she desperately needed my help with something. It sounded urgent, so I told her to come over at any point. I was playing with Rose when I heard my name being called. I got up and held my hand out for Rose. Sol’s mark started heating up when I got closer to Kalen and Maddox. I could see an aura around them that clearly denoted darkness. “Who is this cutie?” Kalen asked as she crouched down in font of Rose, who shyly blushed. “This is my cousin’s daughter, Rose. They just moved to the pack so that Anthony can help train me. He ended up finding his mate here too. Okay, little one. Let’s get back to Daddy. I think he’s with my mates.” Kalen placed a kiss to the top of Rose’s head, causing her to giggle. Then I grabbed her hand in mine and swung our arms as we walked. I had so many damn questions that would have to wait to be asked until we were alone. It had come as a shock when we came to find out the truth about where Kalen

Chapter 44
GABRIEL We were currently in one of the conference rooms, waiting for Axel, Darius, and Ryker to join us. Aria agreed with our picks for Lamias. Now, it was just up to them to decide if they wished to join our leadership upon the induction ceremonies. We decided that Aria should be inducted at that time as well despite the fact that she still had a year. We really did not care one damn bit. It would be all of us or none of us. Angel was sitting on my lap. We were flanked by Grant, Zade, and Aria. Then our pack’s current leadership was also here to offer their support. Brianna, Tinsley, and Bronx had been fucking amazing additions to this pack’s leadership. They were the very first Lamias ever blessed by the Goddess. There was a knock on the door, and Uncle Apollo walked over to open the door. Then he moonwalked back to his spot next to his Alpha. That was where Zade got his personality from. It set the three newcomers at ease. “Take a seat if you dare,” Angel said, steepling her f

Chapter 45
ANGEL I had been stuck in my head since I woke up. The dream that I had was amazing. - The summer sun was shining down on me as I was unloading a picnic basket. Grant dropped down behind me and kissed his mark. I felt him smile against my skin when we heard two sets of giggles. Gabriel was chasing two small pups through the grass. The little boy looked just like my mates, and the little girl looked just like me. They could not have been older than three. “Mama, Little Alpha Emerson won the race against Little Alpha Mia. They’re going to race again after lunch,” Gabriel declared. Grant and I clapped our hands as our pups came rushing over and jumping on us. - It felt so real. I was not certain if it was just a dream though. If those were our future pups, it looked like we would not wait very long before getting pregnant. There were many factors that would play into the right timing though. We still had school, would be taking over the pack soon, and had an upcoming war to worry

Chapter 46
GRANT Dahlia had reached out to our parents regarding the information that we had gathered from Maxine when Angel interrogated her. Dahlia had originally told us that she would get back to us when she had something concrete to relay. Apparently, she found something concrete. Our parents sat down with Gabriel, Angel, and I so that they could relay what information had been gathered. Apparently, Maxine was being honest when it came to who got told about our pack. We had already altered the patrol schedules after interrogating her. Nightshade was already a beacon for those who sought power. Even before the Supernatural Council came into play, our pack was already one that drew idiots to it, seeking what was never theirs in the first place. The good news was that it took a while, but Dahlia was able to track down the Río de Fuego pack’s location. It took a lot of fucking effort, but she was able to hack into their pack’s server. That gave her a sneak peek into everything. Josef was th

Chapter 47
ANGEL We were up early this morning because we wanted to make sure everything was in order. My mates went over to check on the rooms at the secondary packhouse while I made sure that the welcome breakfast was all set up in the convention center. Some of Shadow Falls, Dark Moon, and Coverstone would be joining us along with those we knew would be willing to fight with us from our pack. Something that I had always appreciated was how helpful everyone was with one another. Our packs and covens always had each other’s back. It was like the Three Musketeers – all for one and one for all. Elle and Mom were both helping organize everything. They had always been close because they came here from the same pack. Elle was younger than Mom and Dad, but that never stopped them from becoming close. She had actually saved Dad’s life one time. Look at where we were now. Our two families were forever entwined now. Kalen had called me up last night and asked if it was okay to bring someone special

Chapter 48
JAXON My life had been one rollercoaster after another ever since I found out the truth of who and what I was. Mom was the sweetest person that you could have ever met. She was a unique type of witch who had access to powerful spirit magic. Not all who died moved onto the spirit realm within the realms of their creators and instead walked the Earth behind a normally invisible veil. Those who wielded her type of magic could see beyond that veil. Unfortunately, she died when I was fourteen. She was killed, but I never figured out who did it. After her death, I found a letter that she had written to me. In it, she told me the truth of who and what I was. Apparently, she knew who Hades was when they started their brief love affair. The source of spirit magic came from him. I wholeheartedly trusted Mom and knew that she would never lie to me, especially about something as important as this. I was Hades’ son. It had taken me a long time to wrap my head around what that meant. The most im

GRANT I was so damn proud of Angel. She captured everyone’s attention while she explained the situation to the room as a whole. It was direct and laid out the risks when it came to fighting but also when it came to not fighting. All in all, the Río de Fuego pack was a threat that we could not overlook. In the end, almost everyone signed up as fighters. Some were not fit to fight for whatever reason but still wanted to help out. This whole mate situation was absolutely amazing to witness. There ended up being a total of thirty mate-bonds snapping into place. Twelve of them were from the Dane’s pack. Seven of those were within Nightshade. Three were with Shadow Falls, and two were with Dark Moon. Jaxon and Sansa were another one. The rest were between our various packs. There were apparently quite a few who just turned eighteen because I knew some of them attended the academy together or visited the different packs during warrior rotations. Our packs often rotated warriors for a coup
