Henri’s POVI woke up with a groan, stretching my limbs across the bed with a grimace. It was 6:13 on a Monday morning. I had to get ready to go to work. I stood up from my bed and walked sluggishly to the bathroom with a yawn, wishing I could stay in bed longer. Since I started lounging around the house more, I've noticed I've become lazier. But today, I couldn't afford to stay home. Looking in the mirror, I noticed the bags under my eyes, making me appear older than I actually was.I spread toothpaste on my toothbrush, and absentmindedly brushed my teeth, my gaze fixed on my reflection in the mirror.Honestly, work held no appeal for me anymore. I had nothing prepared for today—no notes, nothing but my own thoughts. But today might be my only opportunity to see Karyna and have a conversation after so long. The prospect of seeing her gave me a surge of motivation, making me actually look forward to going to work. After rinsing my mouth, I shed my clothes and tossed them into the

Karyna’s POV“How? How did all of this happen? I thought she had a boyfriend?” Julian repeated several questions at once. I could sense the anger and confusion in his voice.“I know, right?” I exclaimed, sharing the same feeling. “She told me at first that he was just a friend, and while I didn’t believe her, I gave her the benefit of doubt, because I thought she wouldn’t attempt anything in front of me,” I began explaining. “So I agreed to follow her and we went to the guy’s house. He’s rich, from what I saw and he’s really creepy. He kept on asking me strange questions. To be honest, I didn’t feel comfortable around him.”Julian growled lowly on the phone, but let me finish what I was saying.“Anyway, so when you called, I got up to go to the bathroom to talk with you, and when I came back, I saw them having sex on the couch,” I shuddered, remembering that image with disgust.“I never ever want to see my friend in such a situation again, but long story short, I had to sit in the hall

Karyna’s POVI woke up the next morning, feeling refreshed from my sleep last night. After having that orgasm last night, thanks to Julian, I took a long soak in the bathtub and fell asleep before I could realize it.I groaned, sitting up. I didn’t want to leave bed, but unfortunately, I had classes today that I couldn’t miss. And film projects to submit. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and checked the time. It was 8:15 in the morning, but that wasn’t all that caught my attention. I saw several missed calls from my Dad, as well as text messages from him. I frowned, my mood getting it incredibly sour. I scoffed, rolling my eyes and dropping the phone back. “I will ignore him. Today will be a good day, and I won't let him ruin it before it starts.” I reassured myself, exhaling deeply. I pushed down from the bed and made my way out of my room to Sophia’s room, beside mine.I opened her door without knocking, and I found her still sleeping, curled up in the bed. I plopped myse

Henri’s POVI stayed at home today. I didn’t have any classes to teach, so I used the time and opportunity to follow Julian’s advice. I sent some flowers over to Sophia’s house. I’ve been doing that since yesterday night actually, but I still haven’t received a response from Karyna. If she wasn’t going to listen to me, I was going to make her listen. That was my way of doing things.I was very annoyed that I hadn’t received any feedback from her. It felt like all I was doing was pointless.I’ve never felt so unsettled in my entire life, and so fucking restless. I was fighting the urge to drive over there myself and see how she’d receive my presence, but even I knew that it was too much and too invasive.Just then, my phone rang beside me, jolting me out of my thoughts. When I saw the caller ID, my heart literally jumped out of my chest. My jaw dropped in disbelief, and it felt like my brain was glitching. It took me a couple of seconds to regain my composure and pick up the call b

Julian’s POV I woke up from my well-deserved rest, stretching my limbs deliciously on the bed. It was nighttime, I deduced, savoring the cool evening breeze on my skin. I looked around for my phone, scrolling my call log for any calls or messages from Karyna, but I didn't see any to my disappointment. “She didn't miss me?” I frowned slightly before my stomach rumbled, making a gurgling sound. I patted it and stood up, slipping my phone into the pocket of my sweatpants. I strolled to Henri’s room, to ask if he could whip us both something to eat. I had some ramen in mind. I knew it was very easy to make, and I could prepare it by myself, but why should I make my stale ramen when I could taste Henri’s legendary cuisine? I knocked on his door heavily just to frustrate him, but I didn't hear his expected groan, which made me suspicious. When I pushed in, the subtle grin on my face disappeared. But it appeared again. Maybe he was already in the kitchen, preparing dinner already?
